Dr. Ishan Shivanand, raised in a monastery with strict routines, uses meditation to expand human potential. He discusses what shaped his discipline and how he teaches others to build mental resilience through practice.
Welcome to The Practice of Immortality.
Thank you so very much.
If you were to introduce yourself to someone meeting you for the first time, how would you describe yourself?
I am the same, but the tool that I use to improve the human potential is meditation.
You share insights of your early life. You grew up in a monastery. What was that like?
So monastery life is, is like clockwork.
What have you found out about resilience? And how do you help people build this mentalism?
Resilience is declining. The problem is not that we face stress. The problem is how we deal with it. No child is born Bruce Lee. No child is born Mike Tyson. If they are having such skills, if they are such specimens of human adaptability, it's because they've worked on themselves. Faith is something very special, very unique, very personal. and it is that belief, belief in that higher being. So if that can be inculcated within a person, then your mental health will be better.
