September 17th, 2021, the pop culture icon Squid Game blew up. In the next 42 seconds, I'm going to explain to the best of my ability why this blew up. The show starts off showing the life of a poor man named Sang-ho Han. He meets a guy waiting for the subway who wants to play this game where if you flip the card over, you win $100, and if you lose, you get slapped in the face. After the guy tells him to call this mysterious number, within days Sang-hyun Woo is brought to an isolated island where he's competing in King's Games for $38 million. The catch is when you get eliminated in the games, you die in real life. Squid Game portrays all the elements of a psychotic, demented person and shows the measures a person would do for a piece of green paper. I think this show blew up to show our society exactly what we need to get through this pandemic.
