San Francisco's free summer movie series is back bigger and better than ever before. Mayor Lurie just announced the return of Cinema on the Square in Union Square Plaza. Last year they screened 3 movies. This year they've upped it to 5. They're kicking it off June 20th with a free sing-along screening of K-pop Demon Hunters. This is all part of a huge push to revitalize downtown San Francisco in partnership with Biedermann Redevelopment Ventures, who's been working on Union Square programming for well over a year. Union Square already has a permanent SFPD Hospitality Zone Task Force keeping it safer 365 days a year. Plus they've streamlined permits and waived fees for opening new businesses in the area. So there are already so many great things happening here, and I'm excited for a lot more to come. Share this with someone you go to the movies here with and follow me for more San Francisco news.
