Davos Codes: Celebrating a Decade of Impact | Salesforce

Davos Codes celebrates 10 years by pairing first and third graders to design board games with Micro:bit coding and robotics. Students in Germany learn environmental science and English while teaching each other, with parents calling it a rare opportunity that goes beyond typical World Economic Forum activities.

IT being our tenth year of Davos Codes, We have extended the program and now we're really excited to be working with the students in the third grade of secondar. So we have the first grade real Schuler working with the third grade secondar Schuler on a creative collaborative project. They are developing board games that have environmental themes, but with a little bit more to them in that they have interactive elements. So they're using technology and coding within their games to add excitement and hopefully help people receive environmental messages in a playful way.
Parents that might not really know what the WAV is or might have a negative association with the WAF forced into this because their kids have it in school and then they see that there's more than just those five days of the WEF, they see that their kids are also getting something extra out of it. And that's the social aspect which I think is also very important. And a lot of people are also thankful that we have an opportunity that other places and other schools don't have, because they don't have Congress like the World Economic Forum.
Ich denke, my students learn a lot about patients how to explain how to organize, because some of the students of the first grade they need like a correct instruction what to do and that's something very good for my students in the third grade, but I think it's very good for both of them. They learn from each other.
We're really excited to celebrate ten years of Davos Codes. It represents an important decade of impact that we've made working with the local community beyond just our activity at the annual meeting in Davos. I think for us giving back is so core to the value and Dabos Codes is a program that does just that where we're bringing technology into the local school and teaching students how technology can be used for good.
