Donor Data Helps ALSAC Raise More Funds for St. Jude | Salesforce

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital uses Salesforce to unify fragmented donor data, then targets personalized messages based on what donors actually engage with. When someone views the Mabry story, automated follow-ups bring them back. Better data means more money for childhood cancer research.

When I think about what children are, I think about the fun and the joy they have every day. They're small, their bodies are changing, they're growing. And that means cancer treatment is different.
Children's cells grow at a rapid pace, and when they've got cancer or some other disease, that just means that the disease is growing even that much faster.
We've been able to take survival rate of childhood cancer from 20% to 80%, but that's not good enough. There's still one in five children that pass away from cancer. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is funded through donations. Donors are the lifeblood of what we do.
In order to get that heartfelt connection with the mission, we have to engage our donors in the way that they want to be engaged.
What are their preferences?
What have they looked at on the web?
What consent have they given us?
We start to hear, you don't really, really know me as a donor because you're not paying attention to the things that I'm doing.
Part of our biggest problem here at St. Jude is getting the data all into one spot and to be able to make actionable insights from the data.
That's why we need our partnership with Salesforce. With data Cloud, what we're going to be able to do is bring together all of that data and really start to harmonize to understand each of those donors.
Data Cloud becomes that central hub where all of that data flows in, and it helps create this dimensional view of our donors.
We know what their needs are, and with Marketing Cloud, we can speak to them in authentic and relevant ways about how their dollar is impacting the mission around the world. What excites me about AI is the power to bring the pieces together that often take people multiple days or weeks to do. In the matter of min value for.
Our donors, out of that AI data and CRM cycle is a meaningful engagement with us. Let's just take the example of an individual that has watched the Mabry story. When Mabry comes back around and does another piece of content, we're able to, in a more automated fashion, pick that up and send it back to that individual. We want to continue to retain those authentic messages with our donors, whether it be the real children that we're saving, their real stories, the stories of their parents. When I see the parents and the looks on their faces, you need to let them know that they're not alone in this journey.
And that's why St. Jude is here, because there's nothing more important than a family could do than just helping their child. Survive.
