A short video transcript in which a company describes how it adapted to the COVID-19 pandemic. The speaker explains operational changes to protect employees (remote office staff, staggered manufacturing teams), how demand spiked in March, and how the company leveraged the Salesforce platform to automate processes, connect marketing through shipping, and enable effective remote work—accelerating cultural shifts toward flexible hours.

Like so many businesses, we were affected dramatically by COVID 19. What's unique about our business though, is we're connected to food and consumer packaging. So March turned out to be a very busy month for us. In fact, it was our busiest month in company history. So our first priority when Covid started was to make sure our employees were safe. We took steps to do that by sending our office staff remote, and we also split our manufacturing team into two groups to provide safe social distancing for them. Once we ensured our employees were safe, our next priority was to make sure our customers requirements were met and really to try to use technology to, to create an experience for them that was no different than the one they had been used to receiving from us in the past. When we talk about the value we get from Salesforce, we don't talk specifically about individual products like sales cloud or service cloud as much as we talk about the value we get from the platform because all the different applications and all the data is in the same architecture. It's our ability to create process automation and use flows and create reports and dashboards that are able to string together information and data from marketing to sales, to order entry to shipping. So by doing this, we're able to create a lot of efficiency in our business and create experiences for our customers that are really great. Historically, we had a culture that was very focused on a Monday to Friday 8 to 5 work environment. We felt so confident when we sent our team remote that we could trust them to get the work done and they have really delivered on that. And you know, we used to talk about how someday we might have an environment where folks could come and go as they please as long as the work got done and the customer requirements were met. We're starting to have those conversations today that we thought we might have 10 years from now. And the platform and the ability for folks to work remotely and our ability to really quantify the work that's being done that has made that possible.
