This YouTube monologue ("Innovation Starts with Every Attempt", uploaded by Automation App) features a speaker reflecting on progression, experimentation, and creativity within competitive figure skating. The speaker explains that even during successful competitive periods they avoided complacency, finding their skating became more creative after competitions when freed from pressure and conservative expectations.

The through line for me has been always progression and trying new things and posing new challenges for myself. So when I was competing and even when I was doing well in competition, I wasn't resting on my accolades. I felt like, honestly, my skating was more creative immediately after a competition because I was lifted from that sort of pressure and that conservative style of skating where I got to do the stuff I know I can make.
