I think one of the really interesting parts of the Salesforce mission is to help our customers see the future through their customers. Everything about what makes a company successful is really in how they engage with their customers, how do they identify their market, how do they find their customers, make them customers for the first time and then really build that forever relationship with them. Customers have come to us and said, what we're doing today, today just isn't working for us. So what's plan B?
Darwin says, you know, it's all about the survival of the fittest. It's about those who can adapt.
Retail is going to change more in the next three years than it has in the last 50 years.
With the business of healthcare changing and the medicine of healthcare changing, amid this enormous shift in technology that's happening everywhere around us, we're really ripe for massive change.
Every industry is changing. Manufacturers want to connect more with their suppliers, their distributors and ultimately their customers.
In the consumer world, there's an app for that. In the government world, there's a form for that. And that is a technology gap that needs to be closed.
Banks know a lot about their customer. That information has just spread to the four winds.
The reason most companies are not embracing the future faster is because they continue to throw their capital towards what's worked in the past.
And that's what's keeping manufacturers up at night, is how to innovate quickly, with agility and to deepen their relationships with their retailers, their suppliers and the consumers.
What we're going to be seeing is more and more organizations using technologies like Salesforce, cloud based technologies, social, mobile and data science to bring together their employees, their patients and other partners outside of the organization with Salesforce.
What Salesforce is delivering is the ability to create an effortless experience.
Mobile is about being where your customer is. Social is about participating in the conversation and cloud is about the flexibility and the speed to do it at the new pace of the industry.
Banking should be proactive. The employees have mobile devices. All the information is right there. They're not trying to sell you a product. They're trying to help you achieve your financial goals.
It's taking that old idea of like the little black book of retail. We're enabling, enabling that sales associate to take that little black book, make it digital, know everything about that customer that's relevant to make that transaction.
The heritage of Salesforce has been about innovation. The heritage of Salesforce has been about trust and it actually has been about getting there faster than anybody else.
We are speaking the language of our customers. Better and better every day. We can drive innovation, we can bring ideas from other industries, and we can enable that tighter relationship that manufacturers want with their customers through our customer success platform. It's about how do you extend your capabilities in a way that's going to let you redefine your marketplace to help you create your future in partnership with your customers, and that's really what we're trying to deliver.
