Scale Mission Impact With Trusted AI | Government Keynote, Dreamforce 2026

Kendall Collins, CEO of Salesforce's Mission Force, unveiled AI tools built for government agencies with strict compliance requirements. The platform includes named AI agents like Agent Bobby for UK police and Agent Sherry for Texas DPS, plus a Policy Engine that converts policy documents into auditable rules. Real deployments cut police call times and accelerated benefits processing.

Somewhere out there, a mission is underway. Now, we may never know what it is. We may never hear about the outcome. But we do know this: every mission begins with purpose. And behind that purpose are people. Not just any people. The most extraordinary among us. The ones who answer when we call. Who send help when every second counts. Who restore the power after the storm. Who keep our roads moving, our water flowing, and our communities running. Who protect our neighborhoods, respond in moments of crisis, and help us rebuild when the unthinkable happens. The people who put their lives on the line so the rest of us can live ours. And they're not alone. Different uniforms, different missions, same purpose: to serve. But too often, these missions abroad and at home are slowed by silos, buried in outdated systems, tangled in bureaucracy, trapped by processes built for another time. Well, what if their courage to achieve was matched by their ability to achieve it? What if every person trying to serve could spend less time fighting the system and more time serving the people who depend on them? Not just another parade, pep rally, or thank you, but a commitment. A commitment to the people who take on missions bigger than themselves. We call it Mission Force. Mission Force is more than technology. It's trust in the moments when decisions matter most. It's breakthrough innovation that Mission Force cuts through red tape, connects what's been disconnected, and helps people move from decision to action. Mission Force extends the best of the private sector to the public sector, equipping those who serve with the tools they need. Because missions aren't accomplished in silos, they're accomplished by people. Mission Force is built for them. For the first responders, the public servants, the people who care for our veterans, the people who make sure help, opportunity, and resources get where they need to go. Powered by agents and data, driven by automation, built with the urgency, agility, and scale to advance the readiness, resilience, and effectiveness of the people that we depend on. A new way to serve those who serve us all. Because when the people behind the mission rise, well, We all do.
Please welcome CEO, Mission Force, and Government Cloud, Salesforce, Kendall Collins.
Welcome, everybody, to day 2 of Dreamforce. Has this been an amazing show? I just can't believe it. It feels like it's been ground zero. For the discussion on AI, the discussion about trust, innovation, and agentic transformation. How about that Jensen walk and talk? We're not going to be able to walk quite as much today, but that was so much fun and just so incredible. Well, we want it to also be ground zero for governments. We want it to be a place where you can connect, share best practices, the best of your learnings, and also learn from the private sector. and all of our commercial customers. We know how important it is for all of you as public servants, and we're so grateful. You know, being a public servant, it requires dedication. It requires courage. Sometimes it requires 17 passwords on any given day. And for all of you, I know that you have the courage to persist. Because out there somewhere, there is a family that's waiting for help from a disaster. There's a small business that's maybe an entrepreneur and just trying to get going. There's a veteran who's trying to get the benefits they deserve. There's a service member who's getting ready to do something critical and make a really important decision. And every day and every morning, there are public servants waking up who are committed to that, committed to helping everybody, every citizen, every constituent. And, you know, that dedication should be matched by the systems and by the technology. You know, but sometimes the trust in those systems isn't always there. Right? The technology's not moving fast enough to keep up with the pace of what you are all trying to do. And for us, with Mission Force, that is our focus. That has been the dedication that we've had, because we want to be the best so that you can be the best, so that we can empower all of you. So I just wanna say thank you for that. We are incredibly grateful for all of you on this mission.
Thank you.
You know, I'm personally grateful. I've been working on this now 18 months. About a year ago, we launched Mission Force, and just the opportunity to see all of your missions, to go behind the scenes with you, to understand what it takes, the systems you're using, all the things that people don't see every day. The permit that is hard to get approved, the inspection that nobody even knows about but is critical for readiness. You know, I've just been grateful and humbled to learn from all of you. So, I really wanted to start with first, thank you. Thank you to all of our customers, our Trailblazers, our community, our partners, our employees, our service members. If you're a veteran in the room also, please stand up. We've got 7,000 veterans at Salesforce. It's incredible to have you all here. So many guests as well.
Thank you.
We are committed to your mission. This is the most important thing we can tell you. We wanted to deepen our commitment to all of you a year ago. We wanted to focus not just on all of your missions, but also national security. So we deepened our energy and our effort here, and hopefully you felt that. I've spent so much time in Washington, D.C. this past year. It's been incredible. But I've also been all around the world because we're not just committed to America. We're also committed to governments around the world. And whether it was Helsinki or London or Rome, Geneva— I'm trying to think of all the other places I went to— Mexico City, Tokyo, I had a chance to meet with so many of you and so many public servants. And the work you're doing The uniqueness of how you're serving your citizens has been important. And for all of us, we just continue to learn. So thank you for all of that. We know that most importantly, we want to be trusted for your mission. Nothing's more important than trust. It's our number one value at Salesforce. I've been here 23 years off and on. I can't believe it. And it's been our number one value from day one. Because you trust us with your data, and that's never been more important than right now as we think about AI. That trust has been built—
sorry—
through a lot of years working not just with all of you, but first with the private sector, 150,000 customers across every industry, really bringing the best of commercial to public sector. We think about government and we say government is an industry of industries. You've got all of these incredible problems that you're trying to solve. Many of them are not exotic. Many of them have been solved in the private sector, and we want to bring the best of that to everything that you're doing. We have 20 years of supporting government work, 28,000 public sector organizations around the world, and more than 30 countries supported. And it's just been incredible to see that trust continue to grow. And we know that really the base of that is compliance. It's so exciting. Compliance? No, it's not. But it's so important. It's germane to everything we do. And the crazy thing about compliance is there's no finish line, right? For us, it is about delivering compliance for you in your country, for all the different networks, all the different operational needs you have. We know there is no finish line. In fact, the threshold for compliance continues to go up. With agent security, sovereignty, and all of these incredible opportunities we have, we have to be secure. So, we're committed to this, and committed also to the product parity, which I know for many of you has been your number one ask when you talk to me personally. And I would just want you to know how seriously we take that, how hard everyone on the team has been working to just bring you the best, and keep you compliant, and keep you safe.
Thank you.
Because it's about your citizens and your missions and making sure that we are trusted and you can rely on us. And there's another aspect that I want to say about mission, which is building for your mission. We have spent so much time really with all of you learning, and this is the most important thing we can do. Not just be committed, not just understand, But take that deep understanding of your workflow, of your problem, of your obstacle, because chances are, if you're having it, there are thousands of different organizations and people having the same obstacle and problem. And that's a big part of what we think about when we're trying to build software. How do we do something that can scale all of you, that can make the impossible possible, that can make the really difficult into something just a little bit easier. And, you know, through all of that and all of the learning from all of you, you've invested time in us, and we had this recognition where Forrester has also seen all of that learning. You know, your learning has turned into a great product, a product that we continue to invest in. The team, I know, is very fired up today to show you a number of exciting things, the new policy engine, Mission Force Operations, And this recognition, it's really for all of us. Our product management team, our engineering team, our partner team, they're just dedicated to building the best-in-class product. So thank you for investing in us, and thank you for trusting us. But we know that in government, you can't do it alone. You can't do anything alone. You usually need a few thousand people, but you also need partners, and it's so important Thank you to all of the partners in the room. You know, whether you're a systems integrator, a prime contractor, an ISV, a venture investment that we've made the past year, you are such a critical part of solving for the mission. We know that inside of government, one of the number one problems I hear from everyone is interoperability, fragmentation. How do we integrate this data across all these systems? And this has never been more important than right now with AI. I think about the context that is required for AI to do the things that Mark and others in the keynote yesterday highlighted. You want to bring the best to your agent? You want the best of probabilistic and determinism? Well, you've got to be able to have an ecosystem. You've got to be able to create data gravity. You've got to be able to create process gravity. And it's so important to us that for our customers, whoever you are all over the world, We want you to have trust in that ecosystem, and we need to hold them accountable, and they need to hold us accountable for your success. But one of the most important things when I think about this ecosystem is also choice and openness. This is an incredible part of what we've really been trying to drive, and I'm excited to talk more about it. But for those of you who've been with us on this journey for some time, OpenAI has been our longest-standing model provider, and partner. You know, from the beginning, it's been part and parcel of Agentforce. We really pioneered the idea of a trust layer with them. Nothing's more important than zero data retention because the criticality of your data, the sensitivity of your data, you don't want training a model that goes back out into the rest of the world. You want it for your country, for your agency, and for your mission. So we started with OpenAI. And obviously Anthropic has been an incredible partner, and it was great to see Dario here yesterday, and the commitment that they've made with Claude Force, and all the things we're doing in that partnership. You know, now it is built in. We started with all of this for Slack and Slackbot, and now we're bringing it to more things with the integration with Cowork. So for many of you in the room, this is an incredible partner, and you can choose it, but we've also done this incredible relationship with NVIDIA. And this is something we've wanted to get to, I think, in many ways for years, which is finding a way for all of you in the government to take advantage of your know-how and also train models. NVIDIA is not just the leading infrastructure provider, but they're also the leading model provider with Nimetron. And with COA, our new family of models, these are embedded inside of Salesforce. They're going to be embedded inside of Mission Force Operations. And we've also got a really exciting beta project, Mission Force AI Factory, where all of you can start to train models. We want to bring that to the best of your environments, air-gapped classified environments, on-premise environments, because we know that data is your strategic advantage. And next, I'd like to talk about this really important piece. and just take a moment to talk about leading, because all of you as public servants, you have this enormous responsibility, and I think it requires incredible leadership. I think that change is really, really difficult. I think that every day, you know, I wake up and I think about your missions, and I think about how am I going to lead and how am I going to be a better person to make change happen, and it's never been more important. It's never been consequential. more consequential than right now, because literally billions of citizens out there around the world are relying on all of you. So your leadership matters. And I'd love to bring up a friend of mine who— let me just say a few words about him. He's a Marine veteran. He is a founder of multiple nonprofits. He is now a New York Times bestselling author. of courage can save us. He is the CEO of With Honor. He is my friend, Ry Barkat. Please join me on the stage. Give him a warm welcome, everybody. It's great to see you. Thank you so much for being here, Ry. I know that you started this week, you called me from a train. You were going from Ukraine to Poland, and then you came to Dreamforce. How's that context change? Is Dreamforce a little bit different than the journey you've had this past week?
We feel a little bit safer here this morning at Dreamforce.
I got my—
can you hear me okay? Yeah. We're a little bit safer here in Dreamforce. We took a trip to Ukraine. It was a bipartisan trip, actually people from different parties that came together through our organization With Honor, which helps veterans serve again in public office as long as they take a pledge that they'll have the courage to work across party lines. And so we were in Ukraine, 4 Republicans, 4 Democrats, and unfortunately Putin had the audacity to actually target the train. So you may have read the news reports about General Petraeus, who was right alongside us, being in a train that got hit 5 minutes after he got out of it. But I am thrilled to be here, and thank you for talking about courage, because I think courage takes many different forms. I first got very interested in it when I looked to my father as an example. He had served in the Marines in Vietnam. And when I was a kid, I didn't differentiate between bravery and courage, but I think they're very distinct and maybe helpful for those of you who are serving the service providers in this room.
Yeah, I feel like for the people in this room, you know, this is the thing I really want to ask you is, you know, change is hard. And how do you think about courage in this moment for everybody who's trying to make a positive change out there in government?
Yeah, I— so, so I have come to really view bravery as something that we train for in the military. It can be instinctive, it can be, you know, the facing fear is your— naturally how people think about it. But courage is different. It comes from the Stoics, and I read a little bit about this. Courage is a decision in the face of risk. Courage thinks, it understands the risks, and then it serves the common good. The common good can be many things. It can be your family, it can be your friends, it can be the Marines and servicemen and women to your right and left, it can be your faith, it can be a principle, it can be your country, but it is not yourself. It's not yourself. So courage is serving the common good, and it is something that I believe can save us not only as a country but as individuals.
Thank you.
Why?
Because if you think about what you were just talking about with change, like oftentimes change is hard for everybody, and it takes the courage to put yourself at risk, right? That's different from physical courage. It's more of a moral courage. A lot of people can find that frankly harder to muster. And I wanted to just, if I could, give one example, and I know our time's limited, but you have Cathy Roth Duque. here in the audience who's the founder of Blue Star Families and is— Yep, big hand for Kathy. She's the— she's a military spouse married to a Marine. She's also a partner of our organization, With Honor. And we found 2 veterans, 2 Air Force veterans, a Republican and a Democrat, Don Bacon and Chrissy Houlihan, and together we took on an important issue that should get solved but is hard when you're this divided as a country. And that issue was the unconscionable fact that up until a couple years ago, 20,000 of our military men and women were on food stamps. Not okay. Something needs to be done about it. So these 2 veterans had the guts to actually work across party lines in a time when that's punished, and we helped pass that piece of legislation as well as many others to help our military families. So, thanks Salesforce for being a partner. Salesforce is a key partner. Mission Force, Vet Force actually walk the walk, and Salesforce Military is a big partner of Blue Star Families as we are, and thanks for having me at this stage, and thanks for buying some books. All the proceeds of the books, you guys bought 2,000 books.
Yes.
All those proceeds go to With Honor, and we also have a donor that's underwritten copies of the books for students specifically, because I think students in particular are looking for a way to serve something larger than themselves, and that's what courage is all about.
I love the book. It's 10 amazing stories, and how Ry defines courage, I just think is exceptional. Thank you for everything you're doing. Thank you for being on this mission with us. Since I met you almost a year ago, it's just been an incredible journey, so I really appreciate it. I love you for being here, man.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thanks, Kendall. Thanks for everything you're doing.
Appreciate it.
And as we think about governments and what's next, we know that governments, they're going to become the most important agentic enterprises, not just the largest, right? When we think about the change that all of you can drive, we think about the billions of citizens, we think about the tens of billions of transactions and permits and licenses and equipment and personnel and recruits and all the things that you need to move forward. Government, hands down, the most important agentic enterprises. And we really want to talk with some of our customers about that change. And let's go inside the mission with Thames Valley. Please take a look at this film.
Hampshire Police Control Room, what's your emergency?
Can you get to the side of the road?
Stay calm and keep breathing.
Can you describe him for me?
I'm going to stay on the line.
Is the perpetrator still in the building?
Okay, just give me your obvious landmarks just to help me pinpoint your location.
It is an incredibly hard job. That call could be somebody that's in real danger, that is in a car accident, that's been assaulted. You really learn to be able to control your tone and your words because that's the only thing you've got— your voice. Thames Valley Police, what's your emergency? You've got to do it because you want to help people.
It's generally not a good day when somebody has to contact the police, and you're at the end of that over and over again. It's a huge volume, about 1.3, 1.4 million calls. 400,000 of those calls were people contacting us to speak about something they'd already reported, and that's failure demand.
Our worst time, we were at 30 minutes answering those calls. Now, having Salesforce technologies, what we're seeing is about 2.5 to 3 minutes. We can reduce that failed demand. We have greater capacity to deal with more impactful crimes.
Salesforce takes things to the next level for us. What you look for is a piece of technology that's a game changer in the industry, and Salesforce was doing just that. Our victim's portal and automated messaging is made up of Data360, MuleSoft Experience Cloud, and then most recently we've put Agentforce as our agentic overlay for people to have conversations with Bobby, our agent that sits on our victims portal and also our force website.
Bobby itself is ingenious. I know it's a big change for policing. 70% of those people are self-serving because Bobby's doing the job.
If someone had their bike stolen, Bobby would take all the information on their behalf, Record the crime, put it into our record management system to understand where the status of the crime is. We're answering their calls quicker and more effectively.
We saw 163,000 fewer contacts. The key bit in that is that you don't need any human interaction. Bobby allows our humans to concentrate on the 25%, which is your high-harm aspects of the work that we do. There was a, a young lad of 16 who was witnessing a violent argument between his parents. He couldn't have safely phoned at that point. Bobby identified their potential for harm, passed them through to one of our digital desk operators, and we were able to get a police officer out and de-escalate it within 10 minutes. That's absolutely huge and, and completely unexpected. If we did not have Bobby, that crime would never have been reported.
The immediate actions of Bobby meant that that person was safeguarded. This is what we're there for. We're there to protect people. It's a big move, like it's a pioneering move in policing to do this. Every phone call matters. It's about those moments of being the quiet, calm voice on the end of the phone that helps that person out. That for me is what it's about.
Amazing.
What an incredible film and an incredible mission for public safety. Everyone, please welcome Tom to the stage. We are so delighted to have you here. Welcome to Dreamforce.
Thank you.
I mean, what a journey that you have been on. I can't believe that now Agent Bobby is having over 200 conversations a When you look at the journey you've been on, what has most surprised you about what's changed? When you think about the police officers, you think about the communities that you serve, what's most surprised you about this journey?
So I think the video's done an excellent job of communicating some of those statistics. I think it's probably important to understand quite how bad it was at the start as well. we were dealing with, as it says, between 1.3, 1.4 million contacts. Only about half of those actually resulted in a police incident that requires a response. The other half is a mixture of either failure demand, people trying to get an update, not being able to get that update, or stuff for other agencies or other services that we're trying to direct But at the end of that, you've got someone that's waiting that is asking for help. Wait times are about 26 minutes on average at their worst, and that's why we started that journey. You know, all of that success that you've seen there, you know, we got it down to 3 minutes. You've also seen the fact that our average satisfaction rates went up by 15%, and that's, you know, just on putting through the, you know, that customer journey. customer-facing portal, getting them to be able to self-serve.
You got the efficiency, you got the satisfaction, but what else has surprised you? There's been so much more.
So then we get into Bobby, because that's the secret sauce, isn't it? And I think the example that we gave there with the child is a great one, but I'd like to talk through another one, if that's okay.
Please.
And it's a sensitive topic, guys, so, you know, hopefully you understand. understand the nature of the work that we're dealing with, but this helps me to illustrate why it's so good. So we had a lady who lives alone. She's just been assaulted in her own home, and the offender is still there. So she's not able to call us. That's not something that's possible. So she reaches out to Bobby. Now, what's special about that? Is that Bobby was able to correctly identify that threat, harm, and risk. That's not something that a traditional chatbot can do. This is completely game-changing. But also, and this is really important, it managed its language with that lady in that moment. So it's supportive, it's empathetic, and absolutely critically, it managed its, communication with her, maintaining her agency in a moment when her control has been stripped away. It got her comfortable to be in a position to report that to the police, to help her understand what happened to her was a crime, and critically, hand over to an agent who was then able to dispatch police officers and make an arrest and get her under protection.
Amazing. I mean, it's— Deeply emotional story, and I think just a different side of what we're talking about here with agents and with AI. And, you know, everyone I've talked to about that has just been surprised at the benefit, not just the efficiency and all these things that we're getting back, but the time savings. It's so important for police officers and your tenured police officers to have more time back, but to get a higher reporting rate.
Yeah.
to get this, you know, incremental benefit for society, it's incredible. We're just— we're so grateful for all the, I know, challenges you've plowed through to make this happen. You know, it's not without courage. You know, I think as you heard from Ry and others, it's not without taking some risk and without applying the expertise of all of those police agents to help train Bobby and make it fantastic. So thank you. Thank you for everything you're doing, Tom. Fantastic.
Thank you.
It's been incredible. Cheers. Well, it's clear that, you know, all of you are having this transformative impact, you know, on people's lives, and that mission of public safety just couldn't be more important. I want to now kind of shift, change gears, talk a little bit about the technology behind that, behind Bobby, with Agentforce, and I'm very proud to welcome our executive, my friend Paul Tatum, our EVP of Global Public Sector. Thanks, Paul. Thanks, Get away.
Thank you, Kendall. Kendall, thank you. And Tom, thank you so much for sharing that inspiring story. So many of you in the audience may be asking that how question. How do I bring it all together? How do I ensure success? How do I do what Tom did? Well, our job at Salesforce, my job here in the next few minutes, is to answer that how question. But before we get to the how, we have to acknowledge that there's some challenges out there. I meet with government customers around the world, and they tell me that there is siloed systems, there is data that we cannot get to, there's legacy systems, and there's new security protocols. Now, I have good news for you. If you're in the audience today or you're watching online, you're a government leader that is not satisfied with the status quo. You're looking for partners, technologies, and solutions to overcome these challenges and to move forward with your mission. And at Salesforce, we spent the last 27 years hyperfocused on customer success, overcoming these challenges, and answering your how questions. Now, one of the big ways we answer that how question is with this platform. Now, you've seen this slide a few times around Dreamforce this week. But I want to unpack it for you for its relevance to government. The Mission Force team has done a fantastic job taking this platform and ensuring it's compliant, scalable, and available for the most complex workloads of government. So let's take a closer look. Now, the story seems to always start with data, and the challenge for government isn't the lack of data, it's that you have so much of it. And it's in silos, and it's hard to get to, and it's hard to bring together in a context that makes sense to your applications and your agents. That's why we built Data360, bringing together Informatica, MuleSoft, Tableau, and Data360 in arguably the most complete data foundation portfolio in the industry to tackle the challenges of government data. Now, let me give you an example. If you haven't already, please go down to the Agentic City in the campground here at Dreamforce and visit the Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas DPS. They're kind of like the DMV of Texas. They handle licensing for drivers around Texas. They've done some amazing work with Agentforce and recently went live with Agent Sherry. Agent Sherry handles hundreds of thousands of interactions On how do I get a driver's license. Now, their big problem actually was that everything Sherry needed was in the DPS mainframe. Now, you don't very often rip and replace a mainframe. They didn't want to create another data silo. So what did they do? They turned to Data360 to connect that mainframe data to Agent Sherry in a contextual way So that Sherry could answer and interact with those hundreds of thousands of conversations. Now, how many of you thought you'd be at Dreamforce, and you'd hear the word agent and mainframe in the same sentence? Well, you are in the public sector keynote, and we still have some mainframes out there. This is an incredible value of the Data 360. Now, once you have your data strategy in place, you can really start to power your applications. This is where the Mission Force team really went to work. They took that C360 application layer, the decades of experience that we have in government, the feedback from government customers, and they built Public Sector Solutions. And Public Sector Solutions is purpose-built for you. They've thought about the data models, the workflows, the applications, and the agents as it relates to Loans, grants, licensing, permitting, recruiting, case management— the foundational use cases of government are built into public sector solutions. Now, what's in it for you? Fast time to value, an acceleration on your implementation, all the while you're bringing in new innovations in the compliant environments you care about. And today we have thousands of customers using public sector solutions to drive their mission forward. Now, once your application's in, in place, of course, you get to the fun part called Agentforce. Now, it was 2 years ago this week that we were here at Dreamforce, and we launched Agentforce. And many of you had the opportunity to build your first agent with us. It was pretty cool. But you know why we were building agents and introducing Agent Force? We were the first company. It's kind of crazy that we use the word agent. Why everybody else was talking about large language models and using ChatGPT to plan their family vacation, we saw something different. We saw a technology that could come together in agentic form to understand your data, understand your workloads, understand your applications, work alongside your organization and your employees as digital employees. And that was Agentforce. Now, to be honest with you, that first year we learned a lot. We learned about hallucinations. We learned how to tune guardrails. We learned the importance of clean contextual data to have good conversations with agents. Fast forward to today here at Dreamforce, 2 years later, Agentforce is FedRAMP High certified. It's DoD IL5 compliant. It is a full suite of products that allow our customer— yes, IL5 compliant is a big deal, so thank you. But it's a complete set of agentic products to build your agent, deploy your agent, manage your agent, connect your agent. And it is transforming the way governments both internally and externally operate. How do I know that? Because I kind of have a family portrait of them. Now, their pictures aren't here, but they have some really cool names. Now, this is just a representation of a few of hundreds of agents around the world helping governments move their mission forward. Just this week, the Transportation Security Authority here in the US, TSA, launched Agent Ace. Pretty cool name. It is helping travelers around the US navigate and ask questions about their travel. Agent Star Trek is helping an international postal organization with the, where's my package? The question we all ask. And Tom, we're so inspired by the work you're doing with Agent Bobby in the UK. These agents are evidence that governments can become an agentic enterprise. Now, we didn't stop there. Of course, this week we announced AI Force. We are delivering Salesforce in a completely different way because, let's be real, technology needs to adapt to the way we want to use it. It needs to conform to us. Yes, we love the Salesforce login, but the reality is we want to give each of you a surface to engage with the platform of your choice. Maybe it's Slack, maybe it's Teams, maybe it's Quad, maybe it's a dozen other ones that we'll be announcing in the years to come. But you know what we also saw as these agents started to deploy at scale is the usage pattern totally changed on the platform. And we're like, oh, the agents want access to the platform just like the humans do. And so within AI Force, we opened up the APIs, the command line interfaces, or the CLIs, so that the agents could engage with the platform as well, completely transforming how you interact, how agents interact with the platform, and adding value to your investment. Now, this is just a really short version of the how this platform is being used to answer the challenges of government, the how do I get started? But to get to the real how, please join me in welcoming Karen Roewald to the stage to show you the power of the demo and public sector solutions. So, Karen, over to you. Thank you.
Over to you, girl.
Thank you, Paul. Building an AI-powered government really resonates with me. As a mom of 2 teens and a Salesforce product leader, I've been figuring out how to build an AI-powered home. Take math and my kids. They don't ask AI for the answer. All right, maybe one of them does, but they ask it to explain the problem and to break it down a different way. AI adapts to them. And this made me think about government. People expect that same kind of responsiveness for the services they receive. Public Sector Solutions has already been helping governments with this. from accelerating agentic intake of licenses to transforming the efficiency of benefit programs, we continue to work on what's next. Now, what you see here is the next chapter. These are just some of the great innovations that we're delivering to you, and these innovations all have one goal: helping government agencies deliver better outcomes for the people they serve. And today, I'm excited to announce our latest innovation, Mission Force Policy Engine. Now, this one's personal for me. When I— earlier in my career, I spent years taking documents and government policies and transforming them into working systems. And let me tell you, it took a very, very, very long time and a village. Lawyers, policy experts, developers, testers, and when we finally got from policy to working rules, the policy changes. Now let me ask the audience: How many of you have implemented a policy change? A lot of you. So you know the policy can change overnight. The implementation. That could last a few fiscal years, right? And that matters because behind every policy change is a person who's waiting for that change to reach them. Meet Noah. He's 8. He sees his doctor regularly, and he depends on his health coverage. For Noah, that policy change has to become reality, and that's why we created Mission Force Policy Engine, to help government agencies go from policy to human-approved working rules in minutes. Now, let's check out a demo. But first, please welcome my demo drivers, JQ and Bert. You guys ready?
All right.
First, we start with the policy. It can be a regulation or guideline, whatever needs to be put in practice. AI reads it and takes out what matters, who the policy applies to, the requirements, and when they go into effect. We don't jump straight into code. We first create a rule specification, one that is a clear translation of policy that anyone can understand, not just the developers. The specification is also structured in a way for the computer to understand. The citation stays attached so the policy expert can verify against its source. Next, with one click, Policy Engine handles the code, turning the rule specification directly into working rules. Underneath is an open-source rules engine that is powering it, and it also, because it's built independently of the experience, those rules can power any app or AI agent. Now, now, um, AI agent. And then because it was built independently of it, and because we have a certain kind of conversation that we want to have, we can use any AI tool, including this one. Now, what happens when the policy changes? This is where it gets really exciting. I explain a change, apply 12 months of continuous eligibility for children under 19. AI identifies the affected rules, showing exactly what needs to change. And then goes ahead and provides the next version for approval. AI understands the change and then generates the test cases, checking every result before anything goes live. We can verify that the rules do what they say it should. Now let's go back to Noah. His mom gets a new job, increasing the family income. With the old rules, Noah would've lost his coverage. But with the updated policy, benefit management evaluates his eligibility, and with the updated rules, the deterministic engine reaches one answer: Noah stays covered. Now, here's the really important part. We can show why. Every rule that's fired traces back to the policy that created it. We don't just say that Noah's covered, but we can also prove it and stand behind it in any audit. Thank you so much, JQ and Bert, for that wonderful demo. Now, what you just saw in the demo was going from policy to human-approved working rules in minutes for every system the mission depends on. Because behind every policy is a family like Noah's, and they deserve a system that keeps its promise. The moment the policy changes, the mission keeps moving. Now, to tell us more about how we're bringing the same trusted agentic speed to our defense and national security customers. Please welcome Shelby Kivett.
Thank you so much, Karen. So Karen just under— the entire foundation of her presentation was all about trusted agentic speed. In the US defense sector, speed and certainty are non-negotiable. For over 20 years, Salesforce has been delivering mission-critical applications and solutions to government, defense, national security, and we become that trusted platform for a reason. We know that it takes a highly specialized approach to safeguard our national security, and we want to deliver the technology that is needed to power the front lines. We know that global threats are evolving at a rapid pace, and we need our technology to evolve even faster. Because when our systems are disconnected, warfighters lose valuable time, and not to mention the incredible strain that that puts on our defense apparatus. Roughly $2.5 billion are lost each year just to IT and software inefficiencies. I don't know about you, but that's not a good thing. And we want to solve that problem. That is why we launched Mission-Force National Security, because we want to be a partner with you in solving that challenge. We want to bring bleeding-edge technology without sacrificing compliance or security. All week, you've gotten to hear about Salesforce's commitment to innovation. What you're seeing on this slide is that commitment matched with this investment for us to be able to bring you things like IL-5 authorization for Agentforce 360 for Defense. And I hope we get a clap for that again, because the things on this slide are really remarkable. This is game-changing. I've been here at Salesforce for several years. I've been in the ecosystem. I've served at nonprofits. And it's always been something we've been asking for, is to have that parity. Now, Kendall mentioned it earlier, the next innovation that I am thrilled to share with you is Mission Force Operations, designed to be built on on-premise classified deployments. This Mission Force Operations solution is going to be able to help you solve your most complex logistical challenges. Today, we're gonna see it against disaster recovery and supply logistics. And to help me, please welcome my demo drivers, Kevin and Garrett. Every year, our government responds to an average of 125 presidentially declared disasters, requiring coordination across multiple different agencies, each of you with your own operating procedure on how exactly you deploy. Now, when boots on the ground have something that breaks, they are left scrambling. Here, we're at a relief camp where the main water purification unit just went out. Troops on the ground now have to scramble across emails, phone calls, spreadsheets, just to source a replacement part. That administrative friction, when water is on the line, is not acceptable. Last time this happened, teams were scrambling, and so in their after-action review, they sat down and they painted out on a whiteboard exactly how the process should have gone. That way, they're prepared for next time. Now, let's see what happens when we hand that over to Mission Force Operations. If you squint really hard when they bring it up, this image of the whiteboard diagram that we just saw, Lists out every personnel, approval, validation, task, everything that has to happen for this process. We're going to upload that image to Mission Force Operations. Mission Force Operations is built on a system with rich context and built on years of industry best practices and standards. This powerful reasoning engine analyzes that diagram, creates every workflow, every approval, and the entire underlying data model for this execution engine. I'm going to pause there because I think I lost some of you. I didn't believe it when I first saw it. I know many of you are probably thinking this is not real. It's a really cool demo trick, Shelby. It's not. I assure you it is real. I made those 2 actually prove it to me. This reasoning engine is remarkable. It is creating that time to value for your organizations. And taking this burden off of your development teams. Now, in just a couple minutes, we've seen how we've gone from an image to a digital process. Let's see it in action back at the site. Teams now, wherever they may be, can just snap a picture of that shattered pump, upload it, add a few notes, and click send on any channel that they need. Here you see it's an email. Once they click send, Mission Force Operations kicks in, and first up, we see our first agent. Our out-of-the-box AI agents have skills that allows it to be able to do all of the different things to free up your teams, such as triaging any incoming request. In this case, the agent has analyzed the unstructured email and the photo in it, and then classified this incident as critical. Because of the case type, the agent can call on its second skill, inventory queries, and it's going to go out and query the federal inventory, identify that the missing or the broken part that we have is with our FEMA counterparts nearby, calculates the optimized route, the ETA, and is able to queue up a dispatch all in a matter of minutes. This is critical because now we can tell teams exactly when help is about to arrive. All right, so now everything you've seen up to this point has been AI, but we need humans making those critical decisions in moments that matter. So now we can look at our Slack channel where our disaster recovery team is able to get the updates. We can deploy these alerts out to teams, whether it's in their Teams channels, their Slack channels, their emergency devices, email. Meet them where they're at. With a click of a button, we have approved this incident response, and we can generate the shipping manifest. And once that has happened, clean water's on the way. But there is a lot left to, to go in order to aid our community in recovery. With Mission Force Operations, we can see every single workflow and process and the status. We can even add ad hoc logistical processes as needed. Now, whether it is supply chain disaster recovery, predictive maintenance, or last-mile delivery, we have a blueprint for your mission to help your forces move at the speed that, that mission demands. With that, please give it up for my demo drivers, Kevin and Garrett. Thank you so much.
Thank you.
I want to ask every single one of you to take a moment and think about your biggest challenge you're facing. Think about the possibilities if you were to hand that over to Mission Force Operations and what it could do for your team, what it could mean for your forces and your mission. Now, I'm excited to hear from an organization who has gone beyond just imagining the possibilities because they're actually putting boots on the ground. To hear more from the US Army, please welcome Kendall Collins back to the stage.
Amazing job.
Incredible job, team. Shelby, Karen, everybody. If you worked on this in the engineering and product side, just round of applause. Thank you to everybody who's been working so hard on these products. They're amazing. We are really bringing the best of AI to these outcomes, and to your mission. Thank you so much. This next customer and partner, I'm so excited to bring up. From Army Human Resources Command, please welcome Colonel Chris Brown to the stage, everyone. How you doing, sir? Good morning.
Doing great.
It was amazing to spend the day with you yesterday and have a chance to watch the keynote. This is your first Dreamforce. How's it going?
It's exciting, and you failed to warn me how inspiring it would be to look out on this crowd and see all the faces of who have the courage to lead change within their organizations. So round of applause for you.
Thank you. Thank you to everybody and for your courage. For those who don't know Human Resources Command, take us inside the mission. What is the mission and how is it going?
Absolutely. So at the United States Army, Human Resources Command Our mission really is people. That's what we do. And so we work to provide the best, the absolute world-class HR support to the United States Army's people so that they can go forward and do the Army's business, which is fighting and winning our nation's wars. My specific mission is to provide that support for the HR community in an IT bubble. And so every single day, my team and I are looking for ways of how we can make their lives better. And so that's the soldiers that are in the field that are focused on that mission, the leaders that lead them that need to concentrate on that mission and make decisions based off of what we do to support them.
It's incredible what you've been able to do. You're gonna be the first to deploy Agentforce IL5 for a number of your workforce processes. When you think about this and everybody out here, what's the one piece of advice maybe you give to everybody as they think about change and trying to drive AI into their processes and into these great outcomes?
I had a feeling you were gonna ask an hard question from me. All right, so I will, I'll open the curtain a little bit. You can only imagine The 5 buckets that you saw earlier on that slide, that's us. We had siloed data. We had legacy systems, some of which are 35 years old. We still operate on a mainframe. So yes, I'm that guy. And guess what? We were the first DOD— DOW agency to roll out Agentforce using that data. So we did exactly what you said. We pulled together using MuleSoft, our connections from our mainframe to feed our agents, and now we're improving the customer support that our soldiers are receiving.
Incredible. You think about this mission you're on, it's about having the best team. It's about the readiness. It's about taking care of everybody to drive that readiness for our armed forces. We're so grateful for that, but maybe give us one glimpse into your future. You and I talked about Dreamforce. Originally, we created the name Dreamforce because this is where our customers dream about what's possible. They aspire to where they can take their organization or their business. What's your dream when you think about what's next?
Oh, you know, this is what gets me excited. So I absolutely love dreaming. I'm a career HR officer, so having an opportunity to impact our organization and make change Amazing, and we are doing that. So we're delivering an integrated platform that pulls everything together into one place, so soldiers no longer have to jump across 5, 10 systems to go figure out what's happening in their HR world. They go to one place, they find a solution, and they can move forward. And things that used to take 10, 20 clicks to make it happen, Now we're putting it into 2, 3 things, and guess what? Now they're back out working in the field or supporting their soldiers. And so that's where I dream, and that's where I see us moving forward and really delivering solutions for the Army.
Incredible. Congratulations. Thank you for all your vision and all your service. It's an honor to have you here, sir.
Thank you.
Thank you so much. Well, Dad, I want to thank everybody And wrap up what's been an incredible morning. Hopefully, you've seen from us, you know, the commitment to your mission, the gratitude, and the continued learning and investment. You know, for all of you out there, you have the courage. We've seen it. We're so grateful for it. Bring that courage and transformation forward. Have an amazing Dreamforce. Have an amazing time tonight with Usher and Gwen Stefani. It's going to be an incredible party. We're so thankful for you.
Thank you.
Have a great show, everybody. Thank you.
