It's a verified, secure database that 73% of IT professionals expect will create new business models, though only 22% of organizations are exploring it yet. I'm so excited here today to announce Salesforce Blockchain. It's the fast and easy way to build partner networks.
It is a new kind of a database that saves and traces data in a way that is distributed, verified and secure.
73% of IT professionals are telling us that they're certain that blockchain is going to create new business models and new opportunities for them and their organizations.
Right now, only 22% of IT organizations are looking into a blockchain. And we believe by making it so actionable, we can bring that number to 100.
People want to know and feel that their data and their information and their privacy is being protected. Those blocks, those records of data, are not modifiable.
Our partners really want a more trusted and secure way to extend their CRM to their partners in their network.
So we're surfacing those nodes that you have within a blockchain, bringing all the partner data in, and then being able to use that as a blockchain object in a Salesforce app. You can build blockchain applications with clicks, not code.
We've had an amazing journey with our beta customers. They have come along with us and we've learned that for them, the use cases are very different.
Sales entertainment is quite excited about Blockchain. The one that we actually did a prototype on on the Salesforce platform is loyalty. And so that really helped us to achieve what we wanted to do, that is create a prototype in about two, two and a half weeks with a very, very small team, all working part time. I don't think we could have done this with any other platform.
What we have to do in Salesforce Blockchain is not just make it easy to build blockchains, but make it easily customizable so every customer can customize it to their unique needs.
We've had more than two dozen ideas of where people think the blockchain can help. And it's not just because it's Salesforce Blockchain, but it's more so because it's part of the Salesforce ecosystem.
When you build blockchain apps and blockchain data, they're not islands on their own. They're truly integrated to your existing sales service, marketing apps and workflows.
You can engage your partner network easier than ever before.
When people look at the technology and the solution, they don't think it's a blockchain. They just think it's a Salesforce solution. It's all under the covers. It's invisible. It's part of their daily lives, and all they have to do is get the value of trust, transparency and auditability from the platform.
From day one, we've involved our customers to get their feedback on what they need. And we're going to continue this journey with our customers so that we evolve our product to a point where it's exactly what the market needs and what our customers need.
