Barkus Luckey reads a sticky note from his daughter and Seneca's advice on solving problems before they grow. He argues that taking action immediately, rather than delaying out of fear, is the only way forward.
"it always seems impossible until it's done"
Came in ready to do the video and my daughter has posted a little sticky note for me which says it always seems impossible until it's done. And you can add that into the Cold Shower video if you want to. Now the funny thing is she didn't know what I had chosen today, so it always seems impossible until it gets done. Today we're going to read from Seneca for the Moral letters which is entitled Solve problems early. There is no vice which lacks a defence. Nanda at the outset isn't modest and easily intervenes, but after this the trouble spreads widely. If you allow it to get started, you won't be able to control when it stops. Every emotion is the first weak. Later it rouses itself and gather strength as it moves along. It's easier to slow it down than to paint it. That's a bit of a giggle. So my 12 year old gives me a sticky note just after I picked my little topic for the day, which in other words is See a job, do a job, see a problem, fix a problem. Our fear of the thing is always worse than the fear itself, like cold showers. With that in mind, October 6th hope you are staying safe no matter what your numbers are. Hope your head stays. Hope you have a wonderful, wonderful day. Spread the love. Cold Shower philosophy Bye.
