Moment, let's be present finally in that moment, be confident and get into it. Ladies and gentlemen, Mark Black. Thank you, Rich. Now, you might notice that we've got a slightly different topic up on the board. That one was originally put in. Just change it around a little bit based on the flow of the conference so far. And it is something a little new. It's a bit experimental, it's a habit, and it's a practice that is used by the world's elite. But the process we're going through today is a little bit abstract, it's a little bit out there. And it's about finding out what's inside you. And it's part of the equation about how to go above and beyond. What's changed in this presentation from the way I give it is this is also a challenge to you guys. You will get out of this exercise what you put in. I will be asking you to work fast, with abandon, don't worry about mistakes. But you have to devote because we are quality mind mentors. This is about growing a vision and growing a dream. And as a quality mind mentor, how can you grow someone else's vision and dream if you can't grow your own? Have you ever wondered why there's some people out there who get things done? How some people just keep on striving and thriving while others collapse, while others, burnouts, they burn bright. And how they rise to the top when others fall in a heap. Now, you guys have all been through the life design exercise. You're familiar with this slide. And this whole notion of life design freaks people out. So the few times I've given this, there is always someone who goes, what? Instead of, well, if you build a house, you. You don't walk out to a space down there and start laying bricks. And if you planning a marriage, you don't just turn up one day and have someone exchange the vows. And, you know, even if you're, you know, when I build software, we don't just turn up and start banging on the keyboard. There always comes a plan. Deliverables, expectations, what successful might look at. And I'm being coached at the moment by someone called Craig Harper. And he came out with an awesome saying the other day, which was the chance of life turning out the way you expect it to without a plan. A strategy and dedication is about zero. With no plan, we get Pooh Brown. It's a bit shit. It's literally like painting our life masterpiece without looking. Colors get blurred. There's no design. We never end up. We live with Regrets. But to paint the masterpiece that you want to paint comes with effort, dedication and design. And you look at some of the great visionaries of the modern age. Steve Jobs, Indra Newish. So she, the lady on the left was a former CEO of Pepsi who introduced the idea that we should have more health and wellness in Pepsi, which is basically a junk food company. Sheryl Sandberg, the Facebook CEO, and Sundar Pichai. So I put that one in for my Indian audiences who is the current CEO CEO of Alphabet and Google. Now these people not only have insane visions for when they are running their careers, but they had really powerful and strong connected visions before they moved their way up the chain. And the reason they were able to sustain themselves through the most challenging times was because they had a why, why am I going to do this work? Why do I transform? And the why is because they, they had a vision. And visions go beyond logic and they go beyond sort of common sense because we need an emotional connection to strive us through. And the engines of these elite level operators is all about communication, connection, empathy and technical skills. But what fuels them to get going when they don't feel like it is their emotional vision. And that's what fuels us. As we heard Charlie say earlier, it is emotion that fuels our mind. Common sense doesn't get us up out of bed in the morning. So I ask you, my first question is, well, as we know about these things, whether it's eating well, you know, getting enough sleep, doing all the exercise that we should do, if these people succeeded in life by really refining and locking into their vision, why would we deny ourselves that same opportunity? So I'm going to have a bit of a play with you here just to give you an example of vision and motivation and what it can do. I was working with someone recently who was quite flat, a bit unsure what they were going to do next. And I don't know if you've ever been in that feeling of not quite knowing what's next and so you don't do anything, you're stuck, you kind of something has to change, but I don't know, but I don't know what to do. I can't get my energy up, I can't get moving. And out of nowhere this person reached that point in the transformational model of change where the contemplation ended and, and it was time to get on with action and to do something. And this person said, I'm going to do one of those really hard things that you've spoken about with me. I really Want to do something hard to test myself. And because the teacher only appears when the student is ready, they came across this video. One of their friends said, check it out, Ram. So they literally saw this video. So this is Spartan racing. This person saw this video and went, yeah, I can not. I can do it, but I can see myself. I am going to be part of that. So they found a coach. And then the logic kicked in and pumped with that vision. The coach said, right, here's the first few weeks of your program. That really hard thing you want to do is going to break you. If you are not prepared, you need to do the work without complaint. For the next 16 weeks, four hours a day, you're going to do all this sort of stuff and you're going to push hard. And if you don't do it, you're going to get to the day and you're going to go, shit, I am not ready. And you can't afford that. You've got to be ready. And they're like, yeah, logically I'll do the work and you do. But after a few weeks, you're really sore and your friends go, hey, let's go out partying. And worse still, you're actually not as strong and you're not as fit and you're not as fast and you're just not getting the things done like you thought you'd done. And even worse, your name is Jessica and your dad's name is Mark Lucky. And you really regret saying a few weeks ago, dad, can I do a Spartan with you? And I said to her, no, you're not strong enough. You haven't got the grip strength, you're not fit enough. It's really hard going, you'll hurt yourself. And we don't, you know, you can't go out into this unprepared because it's hardcore. But secretly, as her coach, I've been gagging for her to ask me to come and do this because I knew that if she could do the training, do the process that get there on the day, that she would not only be physically fitter and stronger than she'd ever been, but it would lift her to a new mental level of achievement. And the amazing thing is about this notion of doing the hard work, this is hard work, is that when we do hard work, there's a part of our brain called the anterior cingulate cortex. And what it does is it grows in response to us rising to the challenge. So when we willingly take on something hard to do, even if it's something really physically that we believe is beyond our capabilities that will actually make us more calm in the storm of working the 60 and 70 hour weeks with the awkward kids, with the boss who's a prick, you know, keeping our cool in the moment when our significant other pushes those buttons. This stress transferral mechanism can be used across every part of our life. So for me it was like, well, this is going to be quite a good lead in for her, toughening up into the last couple of years of school. And I love spending time with her. So she was getting annoyed because I'm a pain in the ass like all dads to a 16 year old daughter are. But I kept reminding her because I made her say, three times, you really want to do this, you know, you really want this hard work, You've earned a black belt with me, you know, it's gonna be hardcore. And she's like, yeah, I really wanna do this. So three times she said yes. So every time she said, it's like three times, sweetie, three times, ready to go. Every time she got up and she went. But I had seen that even though she was saying she wanted it, she didn't wanna go to the party, she did wanna do that easy thing, she did want that dopamine fix of a bit more time on the phone, hang out with the boyfriend and all that sort of stuff. But as coaches, we know when the people we're working with just need a little more and we need to remind them how far they've come. So I made this for her. They get cheeky, But pretty much four months of this. What's interesting about this is we were not having a particularly good dad and daughter period of time. Through this time period of time, we're going through quite a bit, you know, just the normal sort of tussle of a teenager. And it was pretty awesome to be able to do this for her and just remind herself, you know, remind her. So it's amazing what a bit of reminding someone where they've come from can do and the power of that emotional connection. But then imagine race day comes around and you are terrified and logically speaking, you, we get back to this logic part, you start going, oh, I don't know. And can you imagine if on race day that you get there and someone goes, okay, great, we're here now, you've done all of your training today. We'll be running around, they'll be jumping over some stuff, you'll be running further, you'll walk under some stuff, they'll be crawling, you'll probably bleed a bit when you're catching, when you're climbing stuff, don't fall. Falling hurts. That'll slow you down. Okay, go and get ready. You'd be going, oh shit. Because around you are all of these pumped, tattooed out athletes who are ready to go and they're intense looking mofos and you're this somewhat skinny little 16 year old girl. Really doubting your life choices at this moment. So logic in the key moments isn't what gets us going. Logic will not get our people wear coaching across the line. And the Spartans do this like no one else at the start of the race. And they engage us mind, body and spirit before we race. Hey, guys, so you're ready to line up for our next Spartan race, 5k sprint in Melbourne. But today is a bit special because today I'm doing this young lady, my daughter Jess, who's attempting her very first spot. Okay, you are a big ass group. Ready?
Yeah.
Trained up. The key message there was you've done the training, you're ready for the moment, you've done the training. Now watch her body language. As we go through this bit day, you might experience the ultimate test. You chase glory on this day. Look at the spirit to the right, next of you, you will draw straight from them as they grow straight from you. Goodbye. Shake their hand. You will not ever fail. I b you stand. Sons and daughter sp Stand and fight for the day today. So long. Video cut short through the middle just to get to this bit. So before and after race bumped into Kim at the same Spartan event. So you might be wondering about the relevance of this to yourself. So next thing I'm going to ask you to do is I'd like you to stand up and I want you to come here and all of you stand up quick. Need to move fast. Remember that bit. Do. Come on, come on. Spread out along the wall and I'm going to put your hands here and I want you to look at this view. When you sit down, I'm going to ask you to open up a Microsoft Word document because we're going to need to work fast and get our minds into action. Put your hands on the thing and I want you to look out at that amazing view. I want you to picture yourself standing on the grass down there with your hands on that rail looking on that view. It's 2029. Bit of time travel for you. And we are back here celebrating the most five incredible years of our career. All of the things that we listed today that we want to work on and dream on are no more. The things that scare us the most have become the greatest things that we overcame. Every part of your body that was sore or aching or needed changing is now done. Your business has grown beyond your dreams. You kept stepping out and taking those challenges. And it's not about the money, but it's about waking up every day with that person, with those people in your life doing the things you want to do. And the reason you're savoring this sunrise view on this day in five years time is not because you get to tell everyone else in the room what you've done because they know, but it's because you get to hear their stories and be part of that with them. And as you look out over the view, you are just filled with that sense of knowing that you did it and that you've got more you can do. And whatever you want to do is ahead of you. And it's a moment of celebration and it's a moment of joy and realization that you always knew you had it in you. But there had to be a moment when you stepped up and you took it. So five years from now, imagine what you've been doing, who you've been doing it with, the work that you've been doing, how you've been spending your time, the people that you've brought along on the ride with you, how you wake up, what you've done. Living in the knowing of that moment is what I ask you to bring as you come and sit down and get in front of your computers for what is going to be a bit of fun. So if I can ask you to come away from your moment there. Lock that in. Open up a Word document for me. Sounds very weird, I know, but what I'm going to take you through is a vision exercise, and I'll explain with you a bit more. And I just need to. Need to emphasize type fast. Type what comes into your mind. If you make a spelling mistake, it doesn't matter. That's absolutely fine. What's most important is that you get down two or three lines per section and see what you can do. So can anyone put their hand up if they. So, Doug, you can actually use your phone. It's a little more awkward. Or we can run you through it another time. Can anyone tell me if they haven't got a Word document open at the moment? Getting there. Let me know when you're ready. Fantastic. All right. So it can be a Word document. Anything that you type into, we just need it to be in a Bullet point format. Get it up on your screen fast, please. You have plenty of time Now. Need to hide everything else on the screen. For the moment, just have the word document open and ready to go. Here's the way we roll on this. We're going to spend one or two minutes on about five or six questions. All you've got to do is to type two or three bullet points in response. If you don't write enough, the drill doesn't work. The more you write is kind of the better. But you want two or three. Yeah, two or three per question when you write them. This is all about living in that moment in five years time. So it is present tense. I am not. I want to be, but I am not. I'm going to, but I am. Okay. We talk about actions, not outcomes. So we don't talk about how we are now running less than a two hour half marathon. We talk about how our running continues to strive and improve. Yeah. So is everyone quite cool with those two fundamentally essential parts to get right? Present tense. But living in the moment. So what we're doing for this one is we're talking about a five year vision. From experience. I've found that if we can work with the time frame, it's good. And just type for your first bullet. My vision is for five years time. Type hard and fast. Spelling mistakes don't really matter. Alrighty. So that one is a pretty easy one to get along with. So we're going to move to the next one. So I want you to think about in that vision with that five years time of success, whereabouts is this vision taking place? Where are you? How does it look? How does it feel? So in each one I've given you some examples and you notice I am or I'm and you describe it. So describe the place where your awesome vision, that place that New you Version 2 is inhabiting in the future and type those down in your bullet points and make them look something like that. Delete these. You don't need those bits. You just need the bullet points. Make sure they're bullet points. Good, Excellent. Now more descriptive. Where is it? Whereabouts? So not just it's a wonderful place. It's in the Philippines. It's in the Blue Mountains. It's an apartment in Paris, a country home somewhere. Amazing. Make it specific. Good to go. Has anyone not got two bullets down? So everyone has at least two bullets down. Specific place, specific time. Okay, next one. In these places. What are you doing? So it might be you're playing golf with friends to stay connected it might be doing martial arts to stay fit. Because one day, and what you are doing and why you are doing it goes like this. I am so that. So I am keeping fit and healthy so that I stay mobile and active into my old age. I am meditating every morning because it allows me to wake feeling clear and calm and attack the day ahead. I am so that. Make sure they're bullet points. They must be bullet points. Okay, cool. Okay. All right.
Nice.
Good, good, good. Oh, Edwin's on a roll. That doesn't surprise me. All right, good to move on. So what I'm doing, I am so that. Everyone good to keep going. Anyone need a little bit more time? Fine. If you do, good news is you can come back to this another day. But right now, the better you can do this, the better it will be. All right. Give you 15 more seconds. This one. I like when it works. There we go.
Just.
Oh, good. Who are you doing it with? What and how or why are you doing these things with. For example, people go for. A lot of my partner and I are traveling together, seeing the world. I am working an amazing job. I'm playing golf with my best friends. I'm fit and healthy, running around after my grandchildren. I'm painting beautiful landscapes. What are the favourite things that you'd love to be doing? And getting paid for? Doesn't matter how good or bad you are. But what would you love to be doing with your time? Because you're doing it in your vision of five years time. Another popular one is, I'm entertaining friends, Growing my own produce, making healthy meals. Stay off your devices, guys. Be where you are. Be focused. You want to teach this, you got to be able to do it yourself. Another 30 seconds. Just finish that one you're doing. When you're ready, have a look up at the screen again. And how does new you version two, five years time. How do you feel? All those things that were getting in the way, the sore knee, the limiting belief, the lack of education, the lack of confidence, they're all gone because you've done them all. You've elevated beyond that experience and you are free of burdens. You literally wake each day going, nothing will stop me. Today you might wake feeling refreshed. You know, you're meditating and reading and your mind is sharp and you're learning. Oh, wow, that's good. Keep going, keep going. Good work. Don't worry about correcting it, just write it on down. Look at you go. Like a machine. Look at you go. Excellent. Keep going, keep going. Okay, now I want you to throw in some texture, color and values. So this is the stuff that maybe you always wanted to tell your best friend, but you maybe felt a little bit awkward saying it. So this is where you now look back at your list and you think, what was the thing I was too scared to write? I know when I do mine, I like the idea of legacy. I like creating somewhere that I've got the capacity and the wealth and the comfort to say to my friends, come and stay for as long as you like. Fly over from the UK and spend a month with me. I am going to have a massive garden and I will be growing my own produce and I'll be feeding them from it solar panels. And I'll be spending my days not only doing what I want to do, but feeling good about doing them. And so this is the bit where you drop that last limiting belief. Because you're there, you've done it. You're looking out the over The Blue Mountains, October 2029, And you're doing it, you're living it, you're dreaming it, and you are there in the moment. So I'm going to give you another two minutes here, have a look at your list. Make sure it's present tense. Make sure you've put in that thing that you always dreamed of. There's no judgment. You can be vulnerable. Honour the moment to do this little drill. Be confident in doing this exercise. You will provide value to those around you. Bring some energy and have some fun. When you are finished, if you can open up a web browser and only have two tabs open, please. One should be www.marky.com because we have a file there we need to access. And in a second browser I would like you to open ChatGPT, please. So if you could just all let me know when you are ready to progress. Everyone good? Nope. All right, You good? All right, got that page up. Scroll right down to the bottom. Right down the bottom, all the way down. Click on that Vision. Yep, open it. Good. Yep, that's done. Just double click on it. There we go. And just wait there for a second for me. Click on Enable Editing. So when you're ready, guys, if you can go to my website here and you literally just scroll all the way down to the very bottom of the page and you'll see a page that says Vision Statement. It's just a Word document. I assure you it's nice and safe. I'd like you to download said document. I've got no Internet, but that's all right. I Don't need it for this drill. Has everyone been able to access that dock and open it? Is there anyone who hasn't got that document open, apart from Doug, because it's really hard without a computer vision. Yep. Have you opened the document? So just open it up as soon as possible, please. Really important we move along fast here, guys. So open that document as soon as possible, put it into edit mode, and you should have in front of you a document that looks something like this. Don't worry about reading it for the moment below this line here. So if everyone can just tune in for a second. Below this line here, delete this text, leave the big line here, and paste in your bullets here. So paste the bullets you've just written into this new document, please. So go to your original document, Control A or select all. Just go Control A, Control C. Go to the document you've just downloaded. Paste your bullet points in below there. Delete the word vision for me. Got that, Edwin? Excellent. Excellent. How you going? Yeah, sorry, just.
I'm not sure if I got all the questions.
You can do it again. We'll do it again another time. I think you. Yeah, that's great. So just copy. That's all in one doc. Okay, excellent. Is there anyone who hasn't reached that stage yet of having everything in the one document? Please put up your hand. Okay, one moment. So everyone else, just stay patient, please don't do it. Work on your list, add in a few points. Stay with me. Yeah, that's good. Control V. Excellent. Is there anyone else who is not there? Good to go. Good to go. All right, in that document where you've pasted your bullet points in, select all, Control A or select everything and copy. So what you're doing is you end up doing. Your page will go. You'll go control A. Something like that, and then you copy. Then what I want you to do is go to your chatgpt window, paste everything. So you must make sure you've copied the statement at the top and your bullet points below, and you paste that into Chat GPT for me and hit Send and hit Go. And just leave it there for the moment. So put it into ChatGPT and press the button to make it do its thing. So press the black arrow. Fabo. Got it. So hit the arrow. Wait for it. Excellent. Got it. Is there anyone who doesn't have it? Okay, can you just. All right, What does it say? What if I get off the Wi Fi? Just. Yeah, take it off the Wi Fi. Just run it off your 5G. Try that. You got it. Excellent. There you go. So paste in there. And hit the arrow so in case you haven't worked out. So before you go on. So what we did here is I was working with some people, they're struggling to get their vision. We worked on this process. Shane, would you read yours? If everyone can honour the moment now because this is the part. Alrighty.

Bring it on. Little bit of a round of applause for everyone there and I'll explain to you a bit of a logic. Well done guys. So the genesis for this before I finish up was the program that I ran. We did one on one coaching and part of the one on one coaching format is we first of all get them to define their vision. We, we set aspirational three monthly goals, weekly goals, and my job is to hold them to account and to keep them going. And so if you could imagine what it's like. ChatGPT is good. It's hard to write by yourself. Really is. Can you imagine though, if you've not heard of mindfulness, mental health, mental fitness, mental development, self empowerment. What if you speak English as a second language? What if you are three and a half hours into coaching someone like this and you're going, oh my God, you know, how do we get through this? Because without this, we can't give them that thing to look forward to. We can't define their North Star. And one such guy, Kalpak, he like literally dumped a 3,000 word document on me and I'm like, oh Jesus, what do we do with this? I can't read it. I missed some instructions to him. It was a bit of a nightmare. And it was sort of just a moment Kalpak. So I was like, oh, do some work on that. So I just rabidly typed up a GPT script, took about two minutes and said, okay, similar instructions I gave you copy and paste in below this and put it in. And so he pressed go. And he sort of, I was like, well, read it out to him. And he sort of. So he read it out and I said to me, I said, how do you feel? And he sort of, I feel like that's me. I feel like that's what I'm meant to be doing, what I'm meant to be about doing. The funny thing about in the coaching circle is most wellness coaches think there's no place for technology in this. Whereas they're already tracking their heart rates, they're all talking to Siri at home, and on and on it goes. But if I can ask you, how did it feel when you were hearing other people read out their visions? It's amazing to be around someone with vision and energy. Yeah. When you are walking into a room and that person has that presence, it's probably because they've got vision and energy, because without it, I don't know if you can carry yourself that way. So if you want to be that person, you carry this vision with you. If you want to be that great mind mentor and that great coach, you have this and you print this out and you stick it on the back of your. Whether it's your bathroom door or your cupboard. Mine's behind my cupboard, next to the jocks, and it's there. And some days I read it and some days I don't, but I know what it says. And the more I see it, the more I say it, the more I become it, the more I dream it, the more I live it. And that's the way this stuff literally works for neuroplasticity. So use it as a tool to define your strength and your vision. Don't be scared. I can give you the documents and the instructions already on the website if you want to have another go. But be the person. Take people on that journey with you. You've all got that ambition and that drive to do it and, you know, nothing should hold you back once you've got the vision that you love.
So.
So thank you all very much for your time and thank you for putting in today. It's a little bit full on, but good work. Thank you, guys. Awesome work. Mr. Lucky, how do you feel now? So what's fascinating is when you guys do this with your own crew, make sure they've got their cameras on, because what you'll see is the same as you guys is people really struggle to take their eyes off it because they see themselves in the words, but they've never said the words themselves themselves, and it's. It's bizarre. So I did that three with three Indians and they were just sort of all. One of them actually sort of went, I've never journaled, I've written this, never written this down. I've never really thought about it until you told me to, but that's my life. That's what I'm doing. It's insane. So, yeah, have. Have fun. Pleasure. Did that excite you when you wrote that out?
