Ben Greenfield explains why alkaline water marketing is misleading: your stomach neutralizes it anyway. For actual results, try lemon water with salt or apple cider vinegar instead, even though they taste acidic but work differently in your body.
What do you think about the people who will hear that and go out and buy one of these alkaline water generators and, you know, do get on the whole alkaline diet and everything, versus enabling the kidneys to naturally adjust the PH balance?
I think that's a tremendous marketing coup by an industry that's running out of ways to sell water because it's neutralized immediately in the stomach.
What would you do if someone's acidic?
Probably start with something as simple as giving them some water with lemon and some pinch of salt. And then you move up to. To apple cider vinegar.
They'll confuse a lot of people who think lemons and apple cider vinegar are acidic because they taste kind of acidic.
But they induce an alkaline reaction for the body.
