Oh, hello. Sorry, I didn't see you there. I'm just standing out in my backyard.
Okay, I'm not gonna make this up. I was. I was peeing in my yard, much to the chagrin of my wife, and I realized I'm holding my phone, so I have to somehow tie my shorts shut.
There.
Done. Sorry about that. Okay, we're gonna chat with Drew Canole, my buddy Drew Canole, a fellow health enthusiast, biohacker, supplement, formulator. Man after my own heart. I always have a blast when I hang out with him down in San Diego. And I'm going to bring Drew on here in just a second so that he can join us. Now, Drew and I will answer your questions, and if you check out the description for the video that you're watching, in just a second, you'll see it change with the link to Drew's new book, because he told me he's writing a new book. I'm gonna shoot straight with you. I know nothing about his new book. I haven't even read it yet. But I told him I wanted to hear about it, and I figured rather than just calling him up on the telephone edge, I would call him up right here on Facebook live and.
And ask him about it right then. Okay, Rich Smith. No, I'm not gonna bring you on. Okay, let me. Let me add Drew on here. Hey, Drew, make a request to join me as a guest on my broadcast, because I can see that you're on now, and I'm gonna bring you in, bro. Give. Give. Give me a. Give me a request.
If you guys bear with me for just a second, I'm gonna bring the great Drew on. He probably has a beard. He always has some kind of strange hair growth. In a good way. Drew is, by the way, the founder of Organifi. You guys may have heard of Organifi before they do. Red juice and green juice, yellow juice called golden juice. Okay, Drew, I need you to make a request to join my broadcast, if you could. If not, this video is going to be really boring because it's going to basically be involved me doing laundry out my back porch right now. Let's see. I'm not seeing a request come through from you, Drew. Drew, you need to make a request, bro. You were supposed to have all this sorted beforehand. Freaking A.
All right.
In the meantime, or waiting on Drew, let me paint you a picture of this guy. So. Oh, yeah, Drew, make sure your phone's in vertical mode. So when I go hang out with Drew in San Diego, he records music in his garage. He has, like, singing bowls for sound frequency therapy. He's very into meditation. But he's also a badass weightlifter. Keeps himself in very good shape. He, the same as me, does infrared light treatments. He always has some crazy new hack that he's up to. He's the guy who introduced me to the bed that I own now, my intellibed mattress. He's one of those guys who gives me a lot of good advice. Drew, I'm still not seeing you as a request to come onto the broadcast. Get that phone in vertical mode, make a request.
And I'll get you on here. So I just need you to request to join the broadcast in the meantime, while we're waiting on Drew. Just because I'm here anyways. And we're only going to be on here for about 15, 20 minutes. This is a quick Facebook Live. What kind of questions do you have for me or do you have for Drew? If you guys have questions, I'm just gonna start to scroll up here. I'll totally answer your questions while we're waiting for Drew to come on and. Yeah, I'll just. We'll sit here, and we'll wait for Drew. So Phil David Morris. I assume that's different than the cigarette company. He says. Hello from the UK yo, what's up, Phil? Actually, you know what? While we're waiting on Drew, I'm gonna show you guys something kind of cool here. Looks like I still do not have the ability to be able to add Drew, so let me show you something cool. I decided that I wanted to add, like, a guest house. And so I'm going to be building a new gym and a new guest house because my wife is really tired of all of my crap that clutters our house. All these crazy pieces of fitness gear and workout tools. So I. So I've got these guys up here right now. They cut it. They cut this path through the forest back behind my house, and I'm going to show you what they're. What they're up to here.
So we're kind of back. That's my cold pool, my hot tub in there. And if I come back up here this way, I'm going to show you the construction that they're doing. It's pretty cool. It's pretty cool, actually. Check this out. We're gonna have a whole whole new gym and exercise facility where I'll be able to teach clinics. And then I'll also have. I'll have an upstairs where we'll have, like, a guest house where people can come and stay. Folks like Drew can come and stay. Drew, you need to make a request so that I can add you onto the broadcast. There are. I know it's working because I've had, like, 10 people so far request to join this broadcast, but I haven't gotten a request come through from you yet, bro. So I need to see a request come through from you, and in the meantime, maybe. Maybe ask your social media peeps. There we go. Boom.
I think we're adding Drew. One, two.
Hi, Drew. Wow.
Yo, where's your beard?
I shaved. You know, that's what I was doing. You said I had a beard, so I wanted to take this time and actually shave it off while you've been talking so I could just fool you.
Dude.
I told you to manscape. I was referring to your crotch, not your beard. I didn't want any straight tubes to get in the way of our Facebook Live.
I did that too. You know, being ambidextrous has its perks.
Good. We've got our bases covered then. It's good to see you, bro.
Good to see you too, my man.
Yeah, let me get in a spot where I've got decent lighting. I want to hear about this new book that you've been writing and what's in it. Let me get in a spot where I'm not just, like, in a. I don't look like a dark shadow for folks. So everybody, meet Drew. Drew's the cool guy from San Diego. He develops these fantastic organifi supplements that you hear me talking about, and if you look at the description, he. He's got a new book out. So tell me. Tell me about the book, bro.
What'd you write, my man? It's taken my whole life to legitimately write this book, and you understand that, but it's definitely a creation of love. And I literally walk people through the journey that I've made in my life to literally go inside our mind, remove the limitations, the things that hold us small, that keep us from maybe hitting our physical fitness goals, our financial goals, our relational goals, everything like that, and to really crush the limitations and move forward powerfully to live the life of their dreams. So there's lots of exercises in it. Super powerful stuff.
All right, so this is all pretty. Pretty woo woo. And esoteric. Dude, get. Get down to brass tacks for me. What's an example of something that they have in that book that I can't find it? Like a Tony Robbins seminar?
Yeah. So one thing you'll dig is the science behind dream induction Right. So before we go to bed. And your podcast on Joe Rogan was awesome, but I've been working with a Toltec shaman for the past 10 years. Right. So we know that theta waves before bed, the 15 minutes before we go into our deep sleep is very powerful for the subconscious. So getting into that subconscious state of receiving things from the conscious mind and accepting them as they are so that we can be more powerful during the awakened day. There's exercises in there for that. There's like a near death experience that I walk people through visually, mentally, emotionally. It's really the identity process we've been using, and we've used it on thousands of clients since the beginning of FitLife TV seven and a half years ago, where I would put the camera on my clients and I would say, why do you want to transform? What do you want to hear? What do you want to see and what do you want to feel? And then we'd walk them through that visual, feeling, auditory landscape so that it anchors in their body because the body's the subconscious, as you know. So if it's in the body as a memory, then it can be stored in their life as a reality. And what you can create is actually pretty remarkable.
Now, when you induce this lucid dreaming before bed, is it like breathing, breath work or visualization or are you using some kind of like a supplement or an herb or plant medicine or something someone just taps into on their own?
Yeah, part of my nightly ritual. And we all have rituals. You're a big ritual guy, dude. When you stay at my house, every time I learn from Ben Greenfield's rituals because I'm like, what is this red light that he's shining on his balls? Like, add that into my ritual. Right, the jub light. Yeah. So my nightly ritual, it involves rolling out a little bit of yoga. It's a little bit of essential oils and lavender oil. Right. 15, 20 minutes before bed. And then it's setting powerful declarations for my subconscious to pick up when I'm. While I'm laying there. And as I drift off, as you start to enter theta, which is moving state.
See the lucid landscape open up. Assuming you've detoxed. Right. Assuming your pineal gland is at a place where the veil is not covering the thing up, you can literally step into a virtual reality, like into the Matrix, when all the guns fly in and Morpheus and Neo are standing there and they're like, what should we take? And he like, downloads the helicopter program. The lucid state is remarkable. They've done MRIs on this. And the brain's 50,000 times more active during dream state than it is during the awakened state that we have. So super, super powerful stuff. And it's been something. I've been super fascinated.
Doctor, how do you open up the pineal gland to produce more DMT before you go to bed?
Well, it's an ongoing process, right? You just wrote an article on the brain. I saw it on your blog, Brain Health. Great article, guys. Check it out. There's foods that we eat that literally kill our brain. Who would have guessed, right? Alzheimer's is on the rise. What? 25 years from now, one in two people will have type 3 diabetes, which is Alzheimer's. So what are we eating? First of all, let's detox that BS out. Let's start adding in things that get rid of the inflammatory response in our body, like turmeric, like skate liver oil or a good fish oil. Spirulina is great for pineal gland detoxification and opening that up as well. So. And mindset, you know, what are the emotions that we're holding on to? So there's certain.
I didn't know that about those. I didn't know that about those nutrients that you could take before bed to enhance DMT production. What about what. What about the use of any kind of, like, sacred geometry? Have you messed around with that? Like, sacred geometry posters or anything else that you could have in your bedroom to induce the state of lucid dreaming?
Well, I think it's different for everybody, right? Like, sacred geometry works for people. Maybe a picture of Jesus or Buddha or Shiva or whatever guide that you find value in that works for you is Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan. Maybe Ben Greenfield, you know, maybe that's your guide. Come on a Dream Journey with Ben Greenfield. And.
It'S different for everybody, but it's definitely very, very fascinating. And when you can start to control your dreams and then you start to see reality, like the ancient Toltecs believe that you're an artist. Toltec really means you're an artist of your life. And the canvas is everyday experiences that you and I are living. So to be the observer, to be the director, the movie director versus the actor that's caught up in the hustle and the bustle and I gotta do, you become more of a being state. And there's less attachment, there's less ego involved, and it's pretty powerful to really get to that place. I'm not saying I've mastered it. I'm still a work in progress.
But how Many chapters are in the book.
I believe there's 14 chapters in the book.
How long did it take you to write this?
About two years.
Wow.
Yeah.
Now you've gone down to.
Excuse me, you've gone down to South America, and you've actually gone on some of these journeys. Is that correct?
Yeah, I haven't done plant medicine. Not that I wouldn't. I haven't done any of the mush mic, you know, microdosing or whatnot, but I believe you can get there without that. I think it's super powerful what the brain can do. And if you're in an optimized state and you're.
When I was in. When I was meeting with this woman, this medicine woman in the Yucatan jungle, it was all about your daily rituals and incorporating elements of earth, fire, wind, water, like the elements into your life.
What do you mean?
Adding more yin into your day. Right. Like, what do you mean? So movement, like the Yucatan jungle. The ancient Mayan people would do something that you would probably say looks similar to tai Chi or similar to qigong. And that was one of the things that really could help you ground your body, come back into a state for creating. Right. So meeting with these medicine women, these shaman, these people in all over the world, these ancient healers, was a very valuable part of the experience.
But you weren't doing plant medicine. You were just learning about connecting to earth, air, learning their history and fire.
Well, learning their history, learning thousands of years, you know, their astrological history, their ancient beliefs that they have that make them, you know, who they are. And it was fascinating. Dude.
Wow.
What's another practical thing people would learn from your book?
Well, I think it's the biggest thing is recognizing that you aren't your thoughts. And when can you remove yourself from that and become the observer and witness your day versus being stuck in it through the process that we take them through in the book, that's super powerful.
So most people now, the process in the book.
Yeah.
What's that process?
Well, there's a lot of written processes I find throughout my journey when I write and I figure out, you know, what's the theme of the day or what do I want to create today? And I'm setting those powerful intentions in the morning, it's able to recognize what's running the show. Like, if you've never written out the thoughts that you're predominantly having every single day on a piece of paper, like, we have 80,000 thoughts a day, you'll really quickly find out how not only you're talking to yourself, but how powerful your word is in creating the reality that maybe you've manifested up to this point. So I think most people are just disconnected from their thoughts and they're volunteering victims. They're victims of their life, they're victims of their circumstances. They look at guys like you, Ben, and they're like, I could never do this. This just isn't possible. This isn't part of my reality. Right? But starting with your thinking, starting with the mindset, the thoughts that rule the day, you can find out quickly that you could build motivation to pretty much accomplish whatever you want. It's unlimited.
This is very similar to something like the Secret, isn't it?
Well, the law of attraction is one thing, right? You can think your way into it, but really it's the law of action. It's getting you so motivated to where you're literally jumping out of bed in the morning and you're taking action on your dreams, your desires, your goals, whatever you want to create. And it really is learning how to feel again, because most Americans, especially we're in our heads all day long. So how do you bring it back into your body? How do you feel it? Because in order to truly materialize feelings, the secret, it's not the act of thinking it. Thinking is like 3% of it. But you've seen the picture of the iceberg where the top is the conscious mind and the subconscious is the water right underneath, like the iceberg, and it's just this huge iceberg underneath the water that's the subconscious mind. And if you can get that to work in your favor, then that's when you start having more personal power in your life to truly create magic.
Interesting people in a place. Getting people in a place of feeling is the work and becoming the witness versus so immersed in it.
What's the most powerful spiritual discipline that you have? Whether it's gratitude or journaling or prayer or fasting or meditation, what would be the most powerful thing that you've tapped into in this two year journey you've spent writing this book?
I think for me personally, it's dream time is one of mine. So the ritual that I have before bed, it's praying before bed, it's.
Dream interpretation, I think is a gift that I have where I wake up in the morning and I'm able to recall 8 to 10 dreams and then I look at the context versus the content.
So what is it that's happening in my subconscious? Most people don't even remember their dreams because they're so busy uploading their personal importance into Divine mind, or the cloud, if you want to call it, all night long so they don't remember it. So once you get into a place of remembering your dream time, it can be a powerful tool for understanding.
And you teach people how to do that in this book?
Yeah, the very basic. The first step for sure.
Okay, what's the name of the book again?
It's called Ubu, and you can get it@ububook.com Ubu. Okay, yeah.
Ubu in the description for this Facebook Live. I'll be sure to include a link to that. And then, of course, you guys have heard me talk about all these wonderful formulations that Drew develops, and I would encourage you to go check those out too, because the dude is one clean eating machine. And he's kind of cracked the code on how to make things like vegetable powders taste freaking amazing. Anything that.
Thank you, my friend.
The last couple of minutes that we have that you could open the kimono on as far as any. Any new nutrient or superfood that you're looking into, because I know you're constantly studying this stuff.
Yeah, dude, we right now we're in the process of working on. And I know you love this, but nootropics that are actually food based that are actually. We're working on one that restores the gut as well as gives you the brain enhancing benefits too. So you're getting both. You're getting the hydration of the electrolytes and the pre and probiotics, plus you're also getting the brain benefits of the formulation. And it literally is something you could drink all day long with no caffeine. So it's not taxing your adrenals or anything like that. And you're gonna love the taste of it, dude.
I like it. I can't wait.
And I love what you're doing here, my man.
Awesome. Awesome. Well, I have a phone call because I'm personally working on a book myself, and I have a call with the editor coming up. But I've been working on a book for like two years too. Unfortunately, it's about 800 pages long, so I have some cutting room floor stuff to do, which is what this next phone call I'm about to hop on is about. But in the meantime, grab Drew's book. I'm gonna put a description. And Drew, next time I'm down in San Diego, we're gonna hook up. We'll make it happen. In the meantime, you guys stay tuned to Drew. He's a cool guy to follow thank you, my friend.
Cool doing a Facebook live with you. Appreciate your buddy.
Later, bro.
Love you too.
Thanks for watching.
Sounds good.
