Ben Greenfield describes his morning priorities—family and faith first, then fitness—and shares a personal history of foot problems from narrow shoes. He explains discovering foot biomechanics about ten years ago and now uses barefoot toe shoes and toe splays to reshape his toes, asserting improved alignment reduces pain in knees, hips, and low back.
I'm not really one of those get up at the butt crack of dawn and workout guys unless I have a very busy day. And that's what the demands require. Early on in the day, I'm always bible reading, prayer, family time, family huddle, family devotions, go to the bathroom, take my ketones and aminos, and then work out. But family faith comes first. And then I dive into fitness after that. Sometimes people ask me about.
My blue feet. I pay a lot of attention to the health of my toes. Like a lot of kids when I grew up, I just used normal shoes, like clothes, toed, narrow shoe boxes. And over time, you know, 20 years of living and running in those, my toes became compressed. I learned about actual foot health and foot biomechanics about 10 years ago. And since then, I wear barefoot toe shoes. I use toe splays for the first few hours of the day just to reshape my feet. It's kind of crazy. A lot of like your knee, your, your hips, your low back. Everything feels better when you start with the feet.
I feel bad for women who like stilettos and high heels just like the worst.
