Ben Simpson (YouTube) argues that the current altcoin cycle is behaving differently from previous cycles: instead of Bitcoin profits rotating into smaller altcoins, Bitcoin and major altcoins are moving more in unison, with large-cap altcoins capturing most gains. He warns that many smaller tokens create excess supply, advises holding high-quality assets and maintaining good portfolio allocation, and suggests a possible retail-driven blow-off later in the cycle.

When is altcoin season going to arrive? It's a question I get consistently. I'm going to tell you in this video, but the thing is, you need to understand is that this altcoin season, this market, this cycle is playing out differently to previous cycles. No longer are we seeing bitcoin profits being rotated down into altcoins. That's what we've seen previously. At the moment it's moving in unison. Right, Bitcoin is moving the market up. Altcoins are following now. Bit of a news flash. We are seeing huge growth Amongst the major players. 98 of the market. Those underperforming are bitcoin because there's so much excess supply, there's so many more tokens than ever before. So bitcoin's in the market, the major assets are playing. I do believe once retail really come here, there will be a sort of a blow off top at the back end of the cycle. But right now, this foundational movement forward, as long as you're in good assets, as long as you have a good portfolio allocation and you follow these continuous winners, that is what's going to keep you ahead rather than waiting and hoping on the, on the, you know, 1 in 10 chance and your altcoin pumps. That is the most important part. Altcoin season is playing out differently this cycle, so you need to be in good assets.
