Short YouTube transcript in which Ben Simpson lists three criteria he checks before investing in any crypto project: (1) avoid tokens at all-time highs or heavily influencer-pumped, (2) prefer projects that generate revenue (tokenomics and on-chain revenue; examples: Maple, a DeFi revenue project, and a derivatives platform), and (3) invest in projects within sectors that have an upcoming narrative (avoid ‘dead’ narratives such as the metaverse). The piece is conversational and advisory in tone.
Before I invest in any project, these are the three things that I look for. Number one is.
Is it at all.
Time highs and.
Has it already been pumped by influencers?
If it already has or at all time highs and everyone knows about it? Absolutely no way. Anytime influencers.
Starting to pumping a token and it's all time highs and it's above 100 million dollar.
Market cap, usually guaranteed. Why you're buying at the local top. All right, that's number one. Number two, does it generate revenue?
I'm a fundamental.
Investor in crypto.
I want to look for tokenomics, I.
Want to look at revenue generating projects, I want to invest in assets that are actually doing something for society. Two of my biggest winners so far.
This cycle, Maple.
Was a def project generates revenue, high tvl Number.
Two, hype that is just hit.
All time highs recently. It actually is a derivatives platform generates revenue, that is a big winner. Right. And number three is, is it in a sector that has an upcoming narrative? Don't buy projects that have dead narratives. Dead narratives might be right now like the metaverse, dead. Right. You want to look at upcoming narratives that are going to be big for crypto that aren't here right now. Those are the three things I look for before investing in any project.
