Ben Simpson on How BORING Crypto Strategies Will Make You WEALTHY!
Podcast interview (hosts PAV and Greg) with Ben Simpson (founder of Collective Shift) discussing crypto strategy and behaviour entering a late-cycle market. Major points: Bitcoin is maturing as an institutional asset class (ETFs, retirement-fund flows, corporate balance-sheet accumulation) which may alter classic four‑year cycle dynamics; altcoins function as a separate asset class where early outperformers often continue to outperform; recommended approach is simple and boring—dollar-cost averaging into Bitcoin, holding cash/stables for opportunistic buys, clear sell/exit plans tied to life goals, and education to avoid panic selling. Ben gives personal examples (taking profits to buy his parents a house), recounts mistakes (overtrading/selling at wrong times), and outlines tactical responses for short (3‑month) vs medium (12‑month) downturns.
Hey, guys, welcome to this week's episode of the Tapping Into Crypto podcast. But special one, got three of us now. Good. This gets to my right. Greg recently just joined us here at SwiftX, but known as Australia's NFT expert. Mate, it's good to have you make your maiden appearance for us. Usually we get you on the show, but this is good.
Yeah. I don't know about Australia's biggest expert, but, well, let's put your head on your cv. So certainly replacing Ted today, who is not tapping into crypto, but yeah, he's tapping into Europe, tapping into Hangover. Yeah. Look forward to you coming back, Ted.
Yep, absolutely. And we've got Ben. It's been on the show, not shy at all, friend of the show, founder of Collective Shift, great education platform. Would you hear more about. Very, very surely. But wait, welcome.
Thanks for having me back, boys.
Lovely to see you again, Ben.
We've been on other podcasts, we've hosted.
One another, so I was gonna say off the camera. You guys have spent the weekend together, if I'm not mistaken.
So, yeah, we were at the footy last night.
Not sick of each other yet.
Well, I'm glad we're starting at 11:30.
Well, I did want to ask Ben the hardest hitting question straight off the bat. You're a Brisbane Lions fan, Ben? Swiftex. Good. Sponsors of the Lions.
Yes.
We're at the game last night. Your girlfriend Laura, big Hawks fan. Are you still in a relationship after last night?
So we stayed at the hotel last night. Let's just say I wasn't sleeping in the bed, I was on the floor last night. So no, I may have taken a little bit too far out of the game, but just letting you know, but yeah, I think I've still got a girlfriend.
We've all been love it.
Footy finals is approaching. NRL AFL game on. Let's get into it.
But what's more important to get into? Like we've obviously seen the markets do some interesting things these last few weeks. We want to make this one super, super relevant. I think heading into the back end of this year, you know, as much as we want to make it through the footy season, see the lines come up on top, we also want to make it out of this crypto cycle. So I think this is a very fitting opportunity with some level, steady heads, some older heads, I would say, which is probably the key takeaway. Seeing some blood, seen some green. The survival guide for the rest of 2026 into, you know, what could be the start of the end because I think we all probably on the same page when things start getting a bit frothy, the end comes a bit faster than what people expect. You know, as much as we know crystal ball, we don't know exactly what's going to happen. Let's just start some scenarios out there and just have a conversation. I feel like it's a good time because who knows what's going to happen next in the short term. But I feel like we've all got like on the same page that we're starting to think about things a little bit differently. Ben, I'd love to hear what you're sharing with your crew, your subscribers. We're just going to walk through everyone what we're doing right now. So make sure hang around for this one. Probably will listen to this one once or twice. You might take something different away each time. So I think let's just dive in. The one thing we've like sort of anecdotally said on the show with a couple of guests is four year cycles. Right? Everyone's sort of like baked into their sort of brain, hey, four year cycle. Four year cycle. Four year cycle. So Ben, your lead analyst Matt posted a nice little one on Twitter or X the other day saying that we're approaching a thousand days since the bitcoin cycle low of late 2022. So historically that 1000 day marker it has been circa the top in previous cycles. So that kind of puts us up about 60 odd days away from that potential milestone kicking. What do we think about that as an idea?
Yeah, yeah, I think the four year cycle is a good narrative, but I don't think there's been enough data to really confirm that that's going to be here forever. You know, in our opinion, like it's been consistent with global liquidity and a range of different other factors that have made the four year cycle kind of pretty accurate. And maybe going back two years ago, we all believed in that, hoping that we would kick start the bull market again for now being in it. Like I really do see bitcoin and altcoins as two separate asset classes now. That's kind of how we teach it. It's like bitcoin is now being seen as an actual asset, like genuine asset class ETF volume, you know, companies, institutions, governments now buying it and accumulating on the balance sheet and it's genuinely lined up with global liquidity. And if that continues to increase over the next two, three years with Trump in the helm, we've got the big beautiful bill that's being passed like they're going into $2 trillion of debt every year. I don't see a world where that doesn't continue to help risk on assets. So we are of the belief that the 40 cycle is most likely not going to be accurate moving forward. Does that mean there's not going to be a bear market? Absolutely not. Like, yes, we do believe there'll be a bear market, but there's a lot of different narratives and data that say, well, maybe bitcoin has a pullback of 30, 40%, but then it keeps ripping higher based on money trying to find a home. And I've never been more bullish on bitcoin. I'm sure we'll get into it very soon, but like, I don't really care about the price short term. I really don't. We're continuing to buy with that sort of long term, 5, 10 year time horizon. Altcoins, different story. And happy to share our sort of strategy around that, but yeah, no, at the end of the day for us, it's about lowering interest rates, global liquidity increasing and money trying to find a home. And where does it go? Well, bitcoin is a beautiful asset that a lot of people still don't understand and I think that's where the growth is going to come from.
That's a good shout. I think we'd all agree the ETFs has done one thing really well. It's like the next wave of adoption's really kicked off. We've seen those whale stories of people selling billions and billions of dollars. But at the same time, as much as people might be worried about the whales exiting, those new whales coming in, like you're saying, right. So like it's kind of like a net sort of fixes itself up, right?
Totally. And even with, you know, Trump writing the executive order around the retirement funds in the US right now, allowing crypto and bitcoin to be bought in retirement funds, like that's a $12 trillion asset class essentially, or, you know, a pool of funds that is automatic buying. Even in Australia. Right. With superannuation, 11% now consistently is added to the superannuation fund and that's got to find a home. 11% of everyone's salary in the country goes into a pool of capital that's got to buy. And in Australia pretty much goes into property. And there's not enough property to buy banking stocks or gold stocks. And it's why property continues to go up because there's supply and demand economics and there's A shitload of money trying to find a home and there's not that many homes. Same thing with Bitcoin. There's unlimited supply, there's a shitload of capital in retirement funds looking to find a home. And as you get that repeat buying action and demand on a limited supply asset that a lot of people don't understand. There is that sort of thinking that goes, fuck, where can this thing end up?
Yeah, no, it's gets a mind ticket over, doesn't it?
Yeah, I must say, like hearing Ben's thoughts, yours Pavs and then you know Zeneca who we announced as a swiftx ambassador last week. I saw him discuss maybe this four year cycle is not necessarily going to play out like previous and osf, who we referenced on Twitter before, who's a fantastic follow founder of Wrecked guy and rec brand Coin. The fact that he went out last week and said, you know, I basically am a non believer in the four year cycle, you know, to take the contrarian take. Well, I don't know why it's a contrarian take given that we still sort of are in four year cycles potentially. But the meme of this time it's different is coming to mind when I hear you guys talk about that.
Right.
Like we may be at that point where we don't see the volatility or the violence that we saw in 2022 with you know, Terra Luna, 3ac Celsius and then capped off by FTX at the end of the year. There doesn't seem to be those sort of like catalyst events that have happened yet. But I do worry maybe we're all starting to psy up ourselves into saying this time it's different. But that's my take when I start to hear about the non believers. But you know, some very, very intelligent people that are on the record saying this now.
So yeah, I kind of like take your side a bit more Greg, just because I think it's human nature. People always say like the one I like at the moment is people don't think there'll be an old season. And my response to that is like do you think people stop being greedy?
Totally, yeah.
Like no. So it's going to happen. But you got to remember like alt season has never been a case of all ships rise. If you actually look back to last cycle, there's lots of things that were pumping in 2017, 2016 that didn't pump in 2021. I think that'll be the same thing that we see coming up soon as well. But yeah, I kind of agree. Like if everyone's saying the same thing, you gotta, you gotta start questioning things.
Well, it's that saying of like narrative is price or price equals narrative. And to your point, Greg, like, I agree, like I think from the four year cycle, if we look at what that is, what if we think about every time we lead into a halving event, there's that, there's that narrative that comes up. Oh, there's a halving. Oh, what does that mean? More supply decreases and people start talking about it, which usually cre, you know, excitement. Same with altcoin season. Why does altcoin season happen? Well, it's euphoria, it's greed, it's people getting excited. So. But I think the market dynamics change, which makes every bull market different, but also the same in a weird way. Like you still get euphoria, you get greed, you get prices that go uncontrollably higher extremely fast. However, this time versus previous bull market and the next bull market will always be different in different ways. And for me, this cycle is different in a sense of just from the sheer volume of supply of tokens to a point. Pav. Like, yeah, not everything is going to pump. And we've done a lot of data and research into previous cycles to look at, well, what is the difference between those tokens that perform and don't? And we actually find that those tokens that outperform bitcoin in the first half of the cycle usually continue to outperform those that don't outperform bitcoin continue to underperform. So a lot of people try and when there's assets that pump, they look at things that haven't pumped. But by our research, it's actually, that's the wrong way of thinking. It's actually finding those assets that are performing well continue to actually perform well.
I remember that so vividly. Like I think about Axie Infinity last cycle, like it was at $8 and I was looking, I'm like, oh, just wait.
16.
I was like, oh, I'll just wait. 20 bucks. Oh no, it's too overcharged. Yeah, like two weeks later, that 100 bucks.
Totally. And then if you go right back to like the 2017, 2021 cycle, like Synthetics, AAVE, you know, Uniswap, those tokens were the same. Right. But then last cycle, you know, Solana, same thing. So finding those assets perform well and outperform bitcoin, that's kind of what we're looking at. There's no point, in my opinion, holding an altcoin if it's not outperforming bitcoin, unless you've got conviction that it's under valued at the moment and it will come back.
But again, you've got a plan there. Right. Like you're not going to drop it at a hat because it's not moving. Let's just take a minute to also just maybe recap on like last cycle, what sort of stands out in your mind was like very toppy in terms of things that was happening around you at that moment that you like. Yeah. Looking back, it was probably a top.
Yeah. So if we go back like the 20, 21 top in particular, that's where I sold. That's actually where I made the most returns I have in crypto. And I round trip the first cycle back in 2017 and the biggest lessons I had was around executing my sell plan. And I say this a lot. And in our group when we sort of helping people with their exit plan, you can write as many price targets down as you want. You can write down these complicated algorithms of exactly what point you're going to get out at the end of the day, unless you actually sell, it's your own head that you're competing with.
Oh, big time.
Yeah. And Travis is our head of growth. He's an executive coach who's been working with me for a long time, performance coach. And a big part of our education program now is like what happens to your brain in a bull market with the euphoria and dopamine that hits when your portfolio is going up 10, 20, 50, 100% in weeks, sometimes days, it becomes nearly impossible to actually sell. A good analogy is like going to the casino. When you're winning on the roulette table and you're winning and winning and winning, it's very hard to just take your profits and leave. What a lot of people.
Can I go to the casino with you? Because it happens to me.
I wouldn't recommend.
No, don't go with me. It's very hard to. Right. And because it's the fear of loss.
Ye.
The fear of loss far outweighs the feeling of gains. You know, psychologically it's actually $100 loss will feel far more painful than the upside of $100 win. So the idea of losing is very hard. Which means when the bull market's pumping, like trying to take profits feels like a loss because you're feeling out of potential gains. But what actually happens is you don't sell and then you round trip. Those triggers for me is purely around Sentiment, like, we use a lot of like on chain data, fundamental data, but at the end of the day, sentiment. And I remember at the peak of the Metaverse era, it was fucking chaos. It was like people were screaming for these things to take over the world. And like, the market was. It was, yeah, we're in the tens of billions.
Yeah.
And I remember just like once, like, just loading up, like, I know it was Decentraland or, you know, I don't know what it was, the time and looking into it and going, this is rubbish. This is actually dog shit. Like, no one is using this. And it was worth. I can't remember the markups at the time. And I just remember and thinking to myself, this is it. This is peak euphoria and peak craziness. And I definitely didn't time the top by any stretch. And we try and ladder out because it's very, very hard, if not next time impossible to sell the absolute top. Usually some of these coins are in the top five, 10% for days. Meme coins, it's hours. So it's impossible to sell the top. You look back and go, oh, yeah, I knew that hindsight.
So maybe an observation and a question back to Ben around sort of selling on the way up, if we think about alts again. And obviously I was heavily involved in NFTs in that last bull run and most of my sort of crypto friends that weren't really believers of NFTs or just were happy to sit on the sidelines. You know, you hear them talk about sort of November 21, December 21, when I think Bitcoin and Ethereum sort of topped. But it was actually about six more months of mania. Reviewing NFTs and some alts as well. The most up only period for NFTs was basically from January to the end of April 2022, topping at the other side Mint. So that was for those that don't know, that was basically Yuga Labs is Metaverse play. That is a game that's still sort of in progress three years on. But, you know, a week later, Terra Luna happened after that other side Mint. And, you know, you probably remember hearing people paying 2 ETH for a gas fee, me included, just to get these invisible fake parcels of land. But there was a mania period after Bitcoin and Ethereum topped in the last cycle. So that's sort of one observation that obviously everyone's sort of worried about, like Bitcoin, when's it going to top? Or when's Ethereum going to top? But things can stay Pretty maniac or pretty crazy for extended periods after that. The question I had for you Ben, how do you personally think about and how do you think about educating members of like okay, I've just made, you know, some good money on Sui or Hype or whatever. How do you actually think about what is the next step after quote unquote taking profits? Like what are you rotating into?
Yeah, really good question. So the clients we work with are long term investors. So by no stretch we work with traders or like short term speculative investors. So for a long term investor, particularly if you're busy, we try and keep it super simple. So start with what is the goal? So I'll sit down with someone go what like what are you even crypto for? Right. Some of our clients have a bunch of property and they're selling down to diversify. Some of them have large businesses with a heap of cash and they're just wanting to invest. Some of them have 500k in crypto and have no idea what they're doing. Like I need some help or they've round tripped. And I usually start with the end goal. You know, why are you in this asset class? So for me I'm using bitcoin to grow my wealth and I use Bitcoin to preserve it as well. So I've got my long term strategy where I want to stack as much bitcoin as possible and that's my digital gold strategy, my altcoins is to essentially try and buy more Bitcoin using altcoins to leverage a bull market, not by actually leveraging but using altcoins. Now my sell strategy, I've taken a couple of profits already. So syrup has been a huge winner for me. Something that I put out for free for a long time around a defi project that did a thousand percent since I got in in the middle of the cycle. When I have an altcoin that does that well, I'm taking profits no matter where the market's at because it's done a 10x, I'm like this is now a large percentage of my portfolio. What I did with that is my broader strategy is key money property. So I actually sold that down and I just, I'm buying mum and dad a house at the moment, which is really cool, nice. So the outlier for selling at the top of the cycle, what I say to people is to achieve the things you want to do in life, like there's no point just making all this money on paper in crypto unless you actually take profits and do something with It. So if you're going to get into crypto, figure out what you're in crypto for and what you want to do with the money. So it might be paying off debt, it might be we help some people, like start a business or like get their kids set up at school. Like, whatever it might be right. Once you understand that, it can make it a lot easier to take profits. Now, once you've got those other things sorted for me, when it comes to the top of the cycle, it most likely will just go into stable coins because you've got to pay tax on that. And waiting to see if it's a good time to buy bitcoin or if we're actually the cycle top. Like, I'm not going to pile everything out of the cycle top for bitcoin. Local tops don't really care. It'll most likely go on a stables help me diversify into other assets and then redeploy into the next cycle. You know, when we have a bigger retracement, I might be half and half the. I think bitcoin's going to the hundreds of thousands, so I might be redeploy some and keep the rest. But the big mistake I see people make, there's two. One is they sell into another asset and get taxed and then that new asset goes down or they do the hard thing. They put in the stables, put in into their bank and then they get FOMO because they haven't picked the absolute top and they go up too early, then they buy back in and then they're actually buying at the top and then it goes down. So they've got a tax bill on the way out and now they're holding an asset that's recently peaked on the way down. So, yeah, when you take profits, you need to have a plan.
This might not be as much of a crypto question, but Ben touched on something in that answer there, Pav, that I think I want to push on a little bit because I think it's a very, very cool story. And one of Ben's colleagues, Bergs, we give him a bit of crap for using his bunk bed story with his brother growing up. That we've heard a lot, but it's a true story. And Ben just talked about buying his mum and dad a house. You sit here as what, 26, still 26 year old, and you just said that you bought your mum and dad a house. Like you're a guy that's always the next thing, the next thing, the next thing. Have you actually Had a chance to step back and go, holy. I set out to do this and I'm basically on the verge or I've just done it. Like, how does it make you feel?
Yeah, I like the. It's still going through the bank. So once I, once I sign the papers, I might feel a bit more real. My parents, they gave me so much when I was younger. We didn't grow up with a lot. I won't say the actual quote for quote that you just mentioned, but yeah, I grew up in Tassie, like, but they always support to me and they always gave me as much as they could. They gave us every opportunity. They still rent to this day. And I always wanted to give them back and say thank you and that was my way of doing it. But it's, yeah, it's pretty cool to be able to do it, to be honest and looking forward to them having their own house and, you know, us going down there and family's so important to me and I definitely wouldn't be here without them. So it's pretty cool. And it's always been my goal, to be honest, to take it off. So to answer your question, no, I haven't. And when I do it, I reckon it'll be the next thing after that. But yeah, I'm keen to.
We're getting back on after. So any real estate agents that want to sponsor the show? So Ben, back over to you. Pav.
I think this is a double bar question, but I know you recently did a YouTube video about if you were to rebuild a portfolio from scratch, what you would do. But I think let's also throw that into the like family and friends that have been on the sidelines. So like skeptics coming back around now that bitcoin's at all time highs ethis made an all time high. If you were in their shoes, what would I guess what would we be doing right now?
Totally. Yeah. And I'm having this conversation every day. It's probably the same as you guys, right? It's a difficult conversation because you know that, that usually when people that aren't interested in crypto only come in when we're topping out. So I always start with education and I'm actually hosting a little investor night for my girlfriend and her girlfriends soon that are starting to trying to think about investing and the way I'm thinking about doing that presentation is starting with money and inflation and why asset prices go up, but your salary essentially won't ever catch the rate of assets. And the idea of investing into Something with your cash to try and offset where the world actually goes in terms of asset prices. Property right now for so many people is just completely out of the question, which is so, so hard to think about. I'm very grateful to be where I am, but I know my friends, my family, a lot of people have no hope, right? Because it's just so expensive. So for me, it starts with educating people around inflation money. And then I think the bitcoin conversation comes in and I think it's understanding that, that it's boring and it's accumulating over a long period of time and it's just automating. I think the big thing that helped me because I'm an all or nothing guy and the idea of just putting in like 10% of my seller every week just sounds so boring. However, honestly, it's the only way I was able to grow over time within the 2018, 2019 period. For a lot of those two years I was using get paid in Bitcoin and every dollar I had was going to bitcoin that I could afford. And everyone sees the overnight success. But no, it's actually like been doing this for nine years, trying to buy and accumulate as much as I can. And yes, there's cycle tops and cycle bottoms, but I think with education, you also have your friends buy during the bear periods because usually what I find happens is they get excited in the top, it goes down and now they stop buying. That's the time to be buying. So I think with the education piece, it's like, okay, set this up. Put aside whatever percentage of your salary that you can afford to accumulate assets, and maybe that's a split of bitcoin and an etf, right? So you're not going all in on volatility because maybe some people get scared with that. But the only way to get ahead is assets. If you do not have assets, you're screwed. Because if you rent using post tax dollars for your rent, you're getting paid and paying a heap of money to the tax office. You're essentially just relying on your salary, which will never be able to escape the quote unquote rat race. And it's sad, but it's accumulation, it's automation, and it's being patient, in my opinion. And bitcoin, whether it's my sister, my brother, my parents, it's bitcoin. And it is still a bit scary because you don't want to be the guy that's getting your family into something and then you'd be wrong. And that's why I don't go too much outside of bitcoin. Although people think bitcoin's boring. It's like, no, Bitcoin's up 100% in the last 12 months. What are you talking about? Where else are you getting 100%? Go buy an ETF and get 7% then. Or put in the bank and get 2% if you're lucky. If you're lucky. Like, bitcoin's boring. And then what happens is they buy into altcoins thinking that we gotta make more. And essentially what happens is they buy at the top, that goes down 70%, and then they're back in square one again. Like, it's just. People get very greedy.
Yep.
That's why they ask. Right. Because they're like, I'm missing out.
Correct.
Yeah, Right.
But what happens, I find, with people that aren't as educated is they put the reliance on you. They want you pav. To make the decision for them. So that way, if it's wrong, it's your fault. And I am a big believer that you need to own your. You need to learn this yourself. That's how I got you. I quit school, I left. I didn't study finance. Like, I figured this out on my own. And I think that's the only way you have the conviction to ride through volatility. Otherwise, you rely on someone else to do the decision for you and it goes down. And now you're panicking because you don't know what you're doing. And then that's the whole, like, calls.
Or influences, like, everyone's just happy to say, oh, but let's go on. Tick Tock said it's.
Yeah, yeah.
The same way they tell you that putting onions under your feet will kill your cold.
You know, it's ridiculous, right? And then when you're wrong and then you want to go, you know, sue them, it's like, well, have some responsibility for yourself and learn. Load up ChatGPT and start asking a question. Well, you got no excuse for that, honestly. And you're going to make mistakes and you're going to fumble around, and there's so much free education online. You guys have the podcast. Like, there's so much free education that there's no excuse, in my opinion, to not start learning.
Yeah, yeah, that was it.
I want to ask Ben. We often hear, obviously, about the success stories, but Ben's pretty open with his content generally around sort of mistakes as well. You know, you've been in it for nine years. What would be your Biggest mistake you've made in crypto in those nine years.
Oh, I made so many. I think when I first started listening to the wrong people, I got sucked into this YouTuber that was telling. I can't remember his theory at the time, but I essentially nearly sold half my bitcoin at like I don't know what it was, 5,000, $6,000 because he had this theory was going down to 80 and I really bought into it. Completely wrong. Went hard on altcoins and didn't have the patience early on synthetix. I've told this story publicly. It was before synthetics was haven. Bought a lot of that and then it didn't do much for a long time. Wasn't really across it. I bought too many altcoins and then just sold it off and then renamed to synthetics and did like a gazillion X. And I hate to look at it round trip, first cycle. So that was difficult. But I think at the end of the day my experiences and where I share my experiences on what's helped me as a long term investor that's busy is keep it simple. Don't go down the chain and have 20, 30, 50 coins. Like I think I've got 8 stack majority Bitcoin. Don't try and trade mini cycles or like swing trade. Again if you're a busy long term investor, people think they can figure out this like, oh, like this, you know, the RSI goes to here and then there's this like the Bollinger band. It's like, yeah, cool. It can give you trends but it's not a blueprint. Trump says something tomorrow and we could be down 30%. None of it matters. Like you've just got to have a simple strategy, accumulate good assets. For now, where I'm at, where I'm investing large amounts of money, you know my, my meme coin exposure, like my high risk is 1%. Everything else is in large caps. I don't even touch the smaller stuff anymore. I think a lot of people try and do this like spray and pray approach where they like buy a bunch of stuff hoping one of them will really outperform. I know it's very hard to now find the 5, 10, 15 X's in.
Crypto way harder than what it used to be.
Way harder. And if you're going to actually make decent money, you've got to go into those positions with size. But what I see a lot of people do is they might throw a little bit into a lot and now you've just got A bunch of shit that isn't really doing anything. So I'm now going in with size into larger caps. That's where I'm making my returns and just keeping it simple. That's the hard thing for people to do because they want to test the carrot.
Should we get into some rapid fires?
I think so.
Let's go.
All right, Ben, in couple of words or less, I'll start with this one. BTC below or above 250k USD by the time we see a cycle top this cycle below.
No, I like that ethosol. Which one comes out top dog?
Will you run another marathon if you.
See my big toe right now? Absolutely not. No chance.
What's a sleeper altcoin you're looking at right now?
Personally, sleeper altcoin, I don't know if it's a sleeper but I think Hype. Hype is going to be a big winner. It has been a pretty decent winner already, but it's sort of cooled off, I think. I think it's a bit of a sleep of this cycle as well. Yeah, I like that one.
Bit of a bias question coming from me here, but by 2030, would you prefer to own one full Bitcoin or one crypto punk?
Yeah, one Bitcoin.
Okay. I'm just going to say there's only.
Question.
I stay well clear with NFTs now, but Greg will tell me why I'm wrong.
Yeah, well, we've got, as we sit here in sort of late August, we've got cryptopunks at about a 58th floor or about 240,000 USD. So almost double a full bitcoin. Right now. I just want to go on record for when Ted gets back in this seat. Ted was at an event I think the second day I started and I asked him the same question and the ratio was 1.1. So in about six weeks we've gone to 2 to 1.
So for those playing at home, the BTC Punk chat.
Yeah, yeah.
It could be very wrong there. We'll see. Let's catch up in 2030, see where we're at.
Make JPEGs great again.
All right. And this one's a bit of a double barrel one, but if the market tanks in three months from now, what do you do? And then if the market tanks 12 months from now, what do you do?
So if the market takes in three months, I'm still sitting on a large amount of cash. I always say to people, try and have some cash on the sidelines to give you that flexibility. So definitely accumulating more, especially in the cycle of Trump. I would say if we dump in the next three months, it's something to do with something macro. But I still have belief that Trump's gonna pull us through, so I'll be buying more. If we dump in the next 12 months, that's probably far higher probability that it was a cycle top and I'll be waiting to accumulate again at the bottom. And hopefully I've taken good profits just before that. That nice.
Very good.
Well, I think that's. That's it. Thank you so much for joining us today, Ben, but before PAV wraps us up officially, tell us, where do we find you? I mean, your, your head pops up on a lot of the social platforms, but if people want to learn more, where should they head?
Yeah, so I've been doing a lot more YouTube content at the moment. So if you like, like 20 minute, like little analysis videos, just search Ben Simpson on YouTube. Ben and Bergs, we do a little podcast. If you like the podcast content, we're over there. Otherwise, yeah, check out our website. We do a lot of free content there as well. So thanks for having me, boys.
Nice, mate. Thanks for coming. And on that note, that's a wrap. Thanks, everyone.
Thank you.
