Ben Simpson critiques claims that XRP could reach $170,000 per token, calling those projections hype and sales-pitchy. He argues such valuations ignore standard asset-valuation methods (market cap), noting $170k per token would imply a market cap in the hundreds of trillions and overlooks competition and realistic adoption risk.

I'm going to tell you why XRP can reach 170k and why everyone saying that it's impossible is looking at it the wrong way.
These videos XRP do brilliant because they're just sales pitches in my opinion. The idea that XRP doesn't get valued on a market cap and just gets valued based on the payment rail system it's trying to create is a bit ridiculous in my opinion because it's not math, it's just hype and speculation that this may be possible in the future. If XRP was to become like M2 money supply and be a part of every single transaction in takes away any realistic viewpoint that there may be competition or maybe they don't actually achieve what they're trying to set out to achieve. $170,000 per token is insane. The market cap would be in the hundreds of trillions and anyone saying that market cap shouldn't be utilized to value XRP doesn't understand how assets are valued. That is why for me this stuff is just ridiculous and it's no wonder why the XRP army, you know, still believe in this thing and have done for so long.
