YouTube video (Ben Simpson) discussing year-to-date crypto market performance: Bitcoin is reported down about 8% while the broader altcoin market is reported heavily down on average (~38%). Despite the weakness, Simpson highlights that certain altcoins (examples cited: one up 14%, a ‘hyper liquid’ group up 53%) have outperformed based on fundamentals. The main argument: portfolio allocation and focusing on fundamentals are critical to outperform Bitcoin and avoid being carried down by broad market declines.
This year has been brutal. In the crypto market year to date, bitcoin is down, but there's still been multiple outliers in the altcoin market that has been in our portfolio that continues to outperform based on fundamentals. I'm going to show you this behind me. The altcoin market has been completely wiped.
Out this year with Bitcoin down 8%.
So far and the altcoin market on average down.
38.
That's what on average.
The others, which.
Is the altcoin market cap outside of the top.
10 is down. But yet consistently, if you follow fundamentals and you've been following the areas of the market that we've been looking at.
Both syrup.
Up 14% and hyper liquid is up 53%.
Amongst what has been.
A brutal year, that is nearly a 90%.
Outperformance on the average of altcoins. This is why portfolio allocation is so important and why a lot of people get angry when the market goes down is that they're holding.
Altcoins that are.
Underperforming and they usually have too much allocated to that Altcoin Portfolio allocation is so important because our ultimate goal is to outperform bitcoin. And when the short term changes, having the right allocation is so important, otherwise you will ride your portfolio down. So in the short term, yes, there's a lot of volatility in the market, but there's always outliers and outperformance and that is why fundamentals is so important.
