Ben Simpson describes how he grew an initial $10,000 into a multi-million dollar crypto portfolio over nine years. Key actions included increasing personal income (multiple jobs, starting a business), taking salary paid in Bitcoin, keeping expenses low, regularly investing spare cash, deploying cash into altcoins during bear markets, compounding across cycles, and avoiding short-term trading. He emphasizes patience, time in market, and that turning small sums into large wealth requires adding more capital and effort rather than relying on quick trading.

I started with $10,000 nine years ago. Here's how I scaled it into a multi million dollar portfolio without trading crypto. The first thing is realizing that you're not going to turn $10,000 into a million dollars without adding more cash. You have to find more income. Anyone that's selling you the dream you can turn 10k or a million dollars is a complete liar and probably scamming you. You cannot make money easily. It's taken me nine years to accumulate over time to build this portfolio up. And the first thing I realized is that I wasn't making enough income. I was working different jobs, I was selling things, I started my own business. Anything I could do to get more cash and put in the market. Any spare dollar I had, I put into the market accumulated for two years. I used get paid in bitcoin and I literally took my salary entirely in bitcoin. While I was living at home, I kept my expenses low and I was trying to accumulate as much as I could. And as I built that 10k into say 100, that's when I started having bigger conviction bets. I started accumulating bitcoin early on. And then in the bear market, I use that cash then deploy into the right altcoins to grow into cycles. In the last three cycles, I've grown the portfolio up, sold it down and rebought back in. You have to compound, you have to be patient, you have to time it well and ultimately you have to be pretty good to do it. But do not fall in the trap of becoming a trader and following these people online, dealing with a dream. It is very, very hard now to grow it to that size. So you have to be patient, accumulate and you need to make more money.
