Ben Simpson (YouTube) advises busy, sophisticated crypto investors to avoid hyper-focusing on small portfolio tweaks that yield 1–2% gains and instead concentrate on positions that can produce large multiples (20x–200x). He argues the most important skill is a clear exit/profit-taking strategy—anyone can buy altcoins and show paper gains, but without disciplined exits those gains vanish.

When managing your long term crypto portfolio as sophisticated investor, you're busy, you're an executive, business owner, whatever. Don't hyper focus on little bits of information or portfolio changes that will only give you gradual 1 or 2% gains. You want to focus on the area that's going to give you 20, 50, 100, 200 gains. That 1 or 2% movement is trying to pick right now. Which layer one is going to be the best. Should I sell Ethereum to buy xrp? Should I sell Solana to buy Hyper Liquid? That's not the question and not where you should be focusing your attention. Alright? Regardless if you get that right wrong or side which you most likely will get wrong, what's most important is you actually get your exit strategy right. Anyone can buy altcoins, anyone can make money on paper. But unless you actually take profits and you have a strategy to exit at the right time, well you're going to stuff it up. So stop worrying about the 1 or 2% movements and focus on the big 50, 100% movements. That is what's going to actually make you money. Because if you stuff that up, none of this stuff matters because you're going to round trip again.
