Ben Simpson (YouTuber) reacts to a sharp down-market morning in crypto, describing intense fear-driven selling, ETF outflows, and large liquidations. He frames the current downturn as an opportunity for disciplined investors, arguing that cycle bottoms form in U-shaped patterns and that his accumulation strategy has not changed (he's traded crypto for nine years). He cites past drawdowns (Bitcoin down ~40% in April from ~$75–80k; altcoins down 70–80%; Solana down ~90% in a week) as precedent. He also states a technical risk: if Bitcoin breaks the 50-week moving average (and a weekly close below ~$95,000), his outlook would change.

What a morning for crypto. Markets are down even more and the fear in this market is crazy. I'm gonna share with you what I'm thinking right now. Has my plan changed literally from yesterday is the same for me right now. Like I've been doing this now for nine years. People think so short term, right? Like, you know, it was just back in April where Bitcoin was down 40%, around 75, $80,000. Altcoins were down 70, 80%. Solana hit 90 a week down to. And you know we get these huge four sells in the, in the, for selling in the, in the market being because of the fear. All right? And at the moment there's huge ETF outflows, there's massive amounts of selling and the fear, I've not seen this bad in months. And that is the opportunity. This is where the wealth gets transferred every single cycle in these fearful moments from the impatient, the worry, the scared, to the planned, strategized, sophisticated investors. This is where bottoms are formed. They're not V shaped, they're U shaped. Things take time, but people are so quick to judge and quick to throw in the towel. My plan hasn't changed. In fact, if anything, this accumulation period is even more clear around why I believe this is a U shaped formation of a bottom. Now what's the other side? Yeah, if bitcoin and you know, alts break through the 50 week moving average and the trend does break through lower than that $95,000 weekly close on bitcoin as I mentioned yesterday, my video, well then things are going to change. However, until then, my outlook hasn't changed. It's just for selling. It's liquidations at scale and a lot of fear in the markets. And yet every single time I've been in crypto, these formations bottom and we see big moves to the upside. This is where the weak get shaken out and the, the unplanned, the unsophisticated get shaken out. Retail loses because everyone's buying olds. Everyone thinks they want to get rich, but don't realize that crypto is actually hard to make money. And this is the time to take advantage. So you know, if that's where you want to decide, you decide now whether you fit in the retail bucket or you join the sophisticated side. That's at the end of the day the game that we play. These are markets, there's winners and losers. Every trade you make, there's someone else on the other side. You decide which side you want to be.
