Ben Simpson (YouTube) gives a brief (≈60s) bullish take on Solana: he says Solana is "pumping" and that it is one of his largest holdings because of its high transaction speed, settlement design (different from Ethereum), and fast-growing developer community. He cites recent large buyer activity ("over $1.6 billion" bought for treasuries/buybacks) and an upcoming major upgrade called the "Applebee Glow" upgrade that he claims will further improve speed and target financial settlement. This is Solana in 60 seconds. And Solana is absolutely pumping right now. It's one of my biggest bags in my portfolio because of this reason. First of all, high speed Solana is competing against Ethereum for the fastest blockchain in crypto. The one of the reasons why they're doing this was the way they settle transactions and it's got the fastest growing developer community. Solana settles transactions differently to Ethereum because it's trying to compete on the transaction level for finance remittance bullish. The reason why Solana is starting to really pump right now is not only from their blockchain level of speed, but they now have Solana Treasuries, the same thing. That's what happened to Bitcoin and Ethereum. Over $1.6 billion worth of Solana was bought recently, raised by investors to buy back Solana. The second thing is they have a big upgrade coming out called the Applebee Glow upgrade. This is going to make their blockchain even faster as they try and target the finance settlement system. Bearish. They have a lot of competition. Layer one is the most convoluted and an overhyped, I guess, layer in the crypto space. They've got so much competition, Ethere, et cetera. Also the hardware, they're betting on a bit of technology in their blockchain that is only literally being able to be created by hardware that they may be able to create in the future. So the hardware may pull them back. But Solana for me is a big winner and I hold it in my portfolio.
