Short YouTube monologue by Ben Simpson advising crypto investors against buying altcoins solely because they "haven't pumped yet." He argues that coins that lag early in bull markets usually underperform later, that following influencers who push unproven projects is dangerous, and that most unpumped projects are low-quality. He briefly concedes exceptions where a good project is simply undiscovered.

Oh, I missed the boat on that coin. I'm going to buy another one that hasn't pumped yet. This is such a common mistake I see so many crypto investors make because again, they follow these. I'm starting to learn. Actually. I thought influencers, crypto influences were bad. They're actually way worse. This idea that like you buy a coin because it hasn't pumped yet is like the epitome of stupidity, right? This isn't like the stock market where like you buy into a startup and you wait for it to pop, right? If the market's moving, it's because bitcoin is leading the charge and it attracts more capital into crypto that flows into altcoins and one more risk on assets 98% of the time. If your altcoins haven't moved yet at this stage of the cycle, it's because it's a piece of crap project, not because it's, it's gonna pump soon. These people out here saying that to buy coins that haven't gone yet. We've done research on this. If you look at the research and you look at every other bull market, the last three, and you track the altcoins that moved and outperformed bitcoin the most at the first half of the bull market, continue to outperform those that underperform Bitcoin underperformed in the second half. This idea of like finding coins that haven't pumped yet, it's, it's, it's not, it's not real. It's, it's a nice thing to think about. I'm like, oh yeah, that has a puppy I'm gonna buy. Like it sounds right? It sounds like, you know, something you'd want to be doing, but nine times out of ten it's factually wrong. It's because the project isn't being picked up by the market as a valuable asset. On the flip side, sometimes the market hasn't found that project. Alright, so maybe your project is a 9 out of 10. But I'm gonna argue that most the time it's just a piece of shit, so get into some good old points.
