The only reason I buy altcoins is to buy Bitcoin…

I just got off a call with a client who's relatively new to crypto. She's joined in the last year, and she's got 20 different altcoins. The thing that we did with her portfolio is remind her that the strategy of being in crypto for me is to buy more bitcoin. The only reason I buy altcoins is to accumulate more bitcoin. And when you're buying and accumulating so many different altcoins, the reality is, in this part of the cycle right now is that it's not an altcoin favorable environment. You only want to hold altcoins that you have super high conviction in. Everything else needs to go. And when you make poor decisions, or maybe you have altcoins that are down, you need to make the decision of is this worth holding to try and buy more bitcoin, and is it even going to outperform bitcoin? And when we looked at a lot of these altcoins, a lot of them were not even outperforming bitcoin. On average, altcoins are down 44% against Bitcoin this year. All right. On average. So you've got to be really, really mindful about what you buy. And you need to update your portfolio based on the conditions that we're in. And unless your altcoins are outperforming bitcoin, you need to question why you're holding it.
