A short YouTube commentary by Ben Simpson describing his crypto investing approach: buy during market downturns when attention is low, accumulate to lower cost basis, take profits on rallies, and avoid the common mistake of buying high and selling low. He cites buying Ethereum at about $80 and Bitcoin when it fell to about $3,500, and contrasts inexperienced investors who buy on rallies and sell in drawdowns.

The real opportunity in crypto is when no one's paying attention. This is where I made all of my money on. In crypto is when everyone thinks it's dead and gone. This was the same when Ethereum was $80 when I was buying it. When Bitcoin went down to three and a half thousand, I was buying it. Right now, people are very excited. 120,000 and then dead and gone at 90,000. The thing is, when you're new to crypto, is that entering the market and adding capital is so much better and easier when the market's down, because you know you're getting discounted prices. If you've already added money to the market, and let's say you're down on your portfolios because you're bought on higher prices, you have a couple of options. One is you can start to accumulate more here to lower your buy price, or you take some chips off the table just in case we go lower, and then you can reaccumulate. But the key thing is 90% of investors buy when it's going up and sell when it's going down. Obviously, that's the wrong thing to do. So you need to do what feels the hardest. Selling when it goes up and buying on the way down. That is how you get ahead.
