Bill Canady, CEO of WPS, explains how the company achieved four consecutive months of growth using an 80/20 approach: identify the few profitable activities that drive most profits, then reallocate resources away from underperformers to double down on those winners.
Good morning. Good morning. How's everyone? Hello.
Uh, I'm a water spider. Today we've just completed our 4th consecutive month of growth. I want to turn it over to our CEO, Bill Canady.
Thanks, Travis. Travis is a pretty hard act to follow. He kind of nailed it. It really sums up exactly where we are. The journey we've been on is extraordinary. You know, we went from like, are we actually going to have a place to do this tomorrow? To today, our future is brighter than it's ever been. We're standing on a solid foundation of financially great employees. You look around the sites that we have, it is amazing. The way that we decide how we grow actually is very simple. We use 80/20 data. We just say, where, where are we making money? That's our first question, right? We look at the data. So when we see where we're making money, what do you think we do? Right? So we're making money here, let's do more of that. Right? And when we see where we're not making money, what do you think we do? We take those resources and we put them on— Where? Where we're making money. Right? That's what we do. We find out the critical few things that are working. We take that and we want to double down on it. And where we get the resources from is what's not working. So we invest heavily. Really? It just comes down to one thing. It's like what we were saying with Mike. It's the people here. It's the work that you've done. It's everything that you've put in to get us to this point. And I think we've set a new bar, if you will, a new base of where we are, and we're only going to go up from here and get better each and every day. And it's because of the folks here.
