In this internal video memo, Bill Canady walks his colleague Gabe through a draft of the landingâpage hero section for the 80/20 Institute. He proposes a headlineââProfitably grow your business in any economyââand a subâheadingââGood markets hide problems, bad markets expose themââexplaining the rationale for targeting CEOs seeking resilient growth. Bill outlines the primary callâtoâaction (set up a call) and secondary options (get diagnostics, attend a workshop). He mentions using ChatGPT to generate copy variations, shares where the supporting assets live (Dropbox folder linked in Slack), and ends with a friendly, personal signâoff wishing Gabe a good weekend with his family. The memo captures Billâs strategic thinking on messaging, CTA hierarchy, AIâassisted copy creation, and internal resource coordination.

Hey, Gabe. So, I was trying to think of our landing page on our website and what's the central theme. So, if I'm a CEO and I'm coming in, what am Iâ what is it I'm looking for? Not what can 80/20 do, like a bunch of things, but what do I need? And so, I came up with this. Learn how to grow your business in any economy. You know, I thought about, you know, we fix businesses or, you know, you can, you know, through good times and bad and all these other things. But I thought, you know, it could be turn around your business. It could be profitably grow your business. Learn how to profitably Proficiency. I'm not spelling for shit there. P-R-O-F. Profitably grow your business in any economy. So, and then I thought this was a pretty good subheading in here. Good markets hide problems, bad markets expose them. So this would be kind of in the hero section, and, uh, probably that picture or something like that by that 80/20 Institute. We show, uh, owners how to scale properly through good times and bad. And so on and so on, right? And, and, and so I, I kinda like this. Then I dumped these 2 things in ChatGPT, and it gave me all this stuff, right? I don't know if I like it or not. It's true, but that's probably not the layout of the first page. It's just, you know, all the other things that we've gotten done. So, so the, you know, the primary call to action here would be sign up for the CTA. I think the primary call to action should actually be, uh, uh, set up a call, right? And then, uh, uh, um, secondary to that, secondary to that, um, could be Get the diagnostics. So how about attend the workshop, right? Slash get that. So I don't know, lots of things here to think about as I stutter my way through this. But I like this because it's like, hey, I want to learn to profitably grow my business and I'm getting my butt handed to me or whatever. And we could say we do PE and private and all these kinds of things. I think so. So, this is the meat of it, and this is kind of what everything pulled out over here. So, I wanted to share this with you. By the way, I also gave you access, I think, to all of the Dropbox stuff. You should have everything you need. It's in Slack. So, right above this video, there's a ton of links. The very last link is the master one for everything. So, at some point, I realized, why don't I justâ if I can give it to that, maybe I can give it to the whole thing. So, hopefully, that'll work. So, hope you're having an amazing weekend, and hope your husband and son are having fun too. So I really appreciate all you do. Thanks.
