PoolTogether Community Podcast #63 with Phi
3 Apr 2023 · 48 min
In this episode of the PoolTogether Community Podcast, host Billy Yearley (Hot Mike) interviews Shugo and Jeannie, co‑founders of Phi (also called Filand), a Web3 metaverse built on ENS domains. The conversation begins with personal origin stories, detailing how Shugo entered crypto in 2020 and co‑founded Phi after a hackathon, and how Jeannie transitioned from a non‑technical background to growth lead after hackathons and NFT projects. They explain Phi’s core concept: converting ENS names into personal metaverse lands where on‑chain activities become collectible items, enabling an open, composable virtual space. The hosts explore the current Filand product – the adventure quest system, beginner quests, API for dynamic UI, and the Pull‑Together campaign that integrates PoolTogether via on‑chain quests and a pixel‑art contest using the Tillix standard. Technical concerns such as gas costs, batch transaction plans, and testnet usage for newcomers are discussed. They outline growth and business‑development goals: onboarding a million non‑crypto‑native users, partnering with Polygon, Disney, Starbucks, and other IPs, and expanding features like interactive avatars, messaging, micro‑games, music NFTs, and NFC ENS cards. Community engagement mechanisms (notifications via Daylight/Taho, hidden quests, art contests) and future roadmap items (interactivity, larger builds, cross‑chain integration) are highlighted. The episode wraps with logistical details about the upcoming Pull‑Together campaign (April 3‑17), upcoming hackathon participation, and plans for future podcast follow‑ups.

AKA Tim, AKA the sun is shining in New York City, baby. And I am so excited to have Shugo and Jeannie from Phi with us here with the Pull Together community here today. And there's a very special reason why they're here. And we're going to talk about that. We're going to talk about the very special reasons. But first of all, I just must say, welcome to you both. Welcome. Thank you.
Thank you.
Yeah, thank you. Thank you. Sorry. Yeah. Could you hear me?
Yeah, I can hear you. Yeah. So, Shugo, why don't you start? I want to hear how did you get in crypto? What's your origin story?
Yeah, so actually, I'm pretty still newbie. I just joined this space, like, 2020. So my friends told me how the Bitcoin Amazing, and like including Ethereum. So and like okay, okay, like yeah, I I can I can feel some sympathy about you, and like I bought like some Bitcoin and Ethereum. So that's the start point for me, and like actually like when I when I seriously joined this space is the 2021 like August. Like actually like I was. I was moved to the— I just moved to San Francisco and I went to some startup meetups. Most of people talking about crypto. And I just felt about the excitement of Web3 and crypto. And then I just started to explore the new ideas. Like by meeting a bunch of like builders and investors and like, yeah, so maybe doing, and also like I was doing some like DAO media, like called This Week in DAOs and also some like the small NFT projects. And then like I just started the finance XYZ from the last year, January. So with the 2 co-founders, The consommé and the duck. So actually, yeah, actually that's my story before, like, yeah, for the crypto. So,
right. What about you, Jeannie?
So I'm Jeannie. I'm the growth lead of Phi. I joined the team in about October. We actually met at a hackathon in Bogotá with Shugo. And before that, I joined Web3 in 2022. I actually knew about Bitcoin from like high school, but I, I was not into finance back then. Like, I, I was just into computers and games and nerdy stuff. So that's how I found out about Bitcoin, but I never kept any. So when I saw it rising, uh, I just bought some and started off as a simple trader. Then, um, the NFTs started happening and a friend told me about them and said like I should Check NFTs out because it's like a subject that I would like because because of my passion for games and collectibles, I guess. And I he was right. So I ended up quitting my family job to be full-time Web three and started doing projects in some communities I was early in, like Treasure DAO. And we developed a project in Starknet. But after the crash, the the project dissolved due to some people having hard times. the bear, the crash, things like that. And, and then I just started going to hackathons to find new teams because I wanted to stay and make cool products despite bear or bull. And that's how I ended up in FI.
So, Jeannie, I want, I want to hear about that real quick. So you're, you're not a, you're not a technical person? Do you code?
Um, no, but I'm, I'm recently starting to try learn a bit.
Nice. So I'm going to attend my— oh yeah, ChatGPT. No, no, no. Let the, let the robots code for you. That's what I'm talking about. No. So I'm doing my first hackathon at ETH Tokyo in 2 weeks. So I got accepted to the hackathon as a non-technical person. So I am so excited, but I'm also like, uh, what do I do? How can I help you? Do stuff. So if, do you have any tips for how a non-technical person could help? Well, like, how do I find a team? Just gimme, gimme your pro tips on what I should do.
So I think if you're already like doing it, you already have the passion to do it and the inspiration, you will find someone who's suited for you. And what I did was like, I first, I was looking at all the projects written in the East Global Discord and trying to find the ones that make me inspired or like the ones that I can think on or contribute to the team with like mechanics design or any thought I can contribute. Because I mean, not only devs should join hackathons. There are people who can contribute theoretically to products like project managers. There's a lot of things people can do, theoretical people, like people who don't design or code. So you should search for projects in the East Global Discord because there's a bunch of people looking for teams in there, which is pretty cool. And I wrote to a couple of them saying what I like about their project and what I could do. Then I met a friend of Shugo and we just started talking for hours and got along and we decided to meet the first day. But even if you don't find a team or find find someone from Discord before the hackathon starts. Even if you don't build something, I think everybody should go to the hackathon and just like vibe there. 70% of the people there maybe don't build. They think about building. Sometimes it doesn't go as planned. It's just like an adventurous place. Like, I like it more than the conference. It's cool to socialize there. It's cool to try to build. It's cool to meet people and maybe join their team there. Like, it's, it's also full of opportunities. I think you, you will find your way if you explore.
What if now, so 2, 2 more questions about this and then we can move on. But one is, can I just, can I just float and just be like, hey, how can I help? Or, you know, like to different teams and like try to connect and like do BD while I'm there, like do growth stuff while I'm there, connect each project or be like, you know, or, or like, oh, these, these are some services or these are some people I know that could actually help with this. So that was one question. And then 2, what if I have ideas and I wanted to like pitch them and like gather a team around that? Is that harder to do probably? Or are there devs just floating around looking for ideas and I can be like, let's go?
I think if you present your idea well, and if it's not like too complicated to code, you will attract devs. But if it's a bit complicated, you might have to find someone special, which is harder, but it all depends. Of course, like BD is easier than finding devs if both questions are relative. Yeah, but like, that's also what I did. And most of the people joining the hackathon, like they actually do have ideas and products that are just not related to the hackathon. So they do need to meet people who will help them with growth and BD. Like, it's a perfect place to meet builders. That's where I met all the cool builders in Bogotá. Like, it was an amazing experience for me, to be honest. Changed my life.
That's really awesome. So I'm excited about that. And so basically what I want to do is build the next Philand. How do I do that? Because like, look at how did Philand like get off the ground and why is it so successful? Shugo, Gene.
So actually, like, we started from Hackathon as well. So like the last year, February. So there is like, there was the NFT hack. Maybe 2022. And then like, I just joined there with my co-founders and yeah, so, but like, maybe like you can think about some ideas before the hackathon, like they're just looking up, there's some sponsors or like just like digging into your like favorite topic. Like, and there, yeah, so. I'm not technical as well, so that's why like, Yeah, so like good idea can gather the people. So I think so, especially in the hackathon. So that's why like, yeah, I think it's not, it's, yeah, maybe like a dependent person, but like it's possible to, for non-technical person, like can gather people like by like having initiative about your ideas and like just like managing the direction for what you build. So I think so. Yeah.
No, that's great. Thank you. Yeah. But so, so let's, how did, like, what that, I really do want to know how, why do you think FI is so success— FI land is so successful? Like I, to me, the outsider looking at this, having my land, I just got my 65,500 EXP. It's so cute. It's so, it's so great. I got, I got like multi, I got like 3 lands. Going. Um, so yeah, tell me, tell me the story about how things are, how things happened and how, how you like achieved this kind of success.
As a non-founder, I, I want to say a few, uh, short things. It's, it's like, um, I, I actually knew about Phi from their first white paper because I just loved the idea. That they were providing a space for everybody who has an ENS, because it matches the idea of a Web3 world. And what they write in their Medium was, so like making a metaverse space in Web3 should be like making a website in Web2. Everybody should be able to make one, like having a domain and being able to make a website. And then the value can be accrued later on. And despite all these great philosophies and ideas running, I feel like they've done almost all the perfect decisions in terms of social, like not being exposed to social entropy. Like we had a, we make some spaces or AMAs, we never try for like fake engagement, like everything's done according to pure philosophies is what I've seen in Phi team. And I think that's a big reason why the crowd is like quality and also quantity right now. I think it's one of the most successful projects I've seen in Web3 too.
Yeah, thanks for your compliment. Yeah, maybe I also can share my thoughts. Actually, Fiber started from the very simple idea, like converting ENS to the metaverse land. So this idea is from Consome, one of my co-founders. He's like really, how should I say, like NFT degen. And actually this idea is the really good concept for building more open and inclusive metaverse because anyone who has ENS can build, can create their personal space and each file belongs to your ENS domain, which is really composable. And how should I say, ENS is the best tool for identify yourself on the Web3, on the blockchain. So that's why we use ENS for building our metaverse space. But this idea is like, if I make this idea more simple, which is converting on-chain activities to some social or gaming items or object. So this is more a simple idea. So that's why we expand this idea to not only for ENS, but also other on-chain activities as well. And which can create the huge opportunity to collaborate with bunch of protocols. And this platform can work as the onboarding platform to the Ethereum 3.0 protocol. So this is how I think how I, how should I say, think about FI. So yeah, it was the beginning. And then we started from the collaboration with ENS and tried to collaborate with the amazing Web3 protocols like Uniswap, including PoolTogether as well. And by holding the campaign with protocols, we can integrate their community into FI community. And by repeating this cycle, we can create really strong Web3 community which is very crypto native and also which is very active users in this space. So actually it's really hard to find, identify the active user, not the fake, like seriously active user in Web3 space, right? Not like bots. So like Files community is the, maybe the best quality about the, like the users, I think. So which is truly active in this space. Yeah, I think, yeah, this is my thoughts behind the FI's growth in the last 4 months. So actually, like, it's like it's 4 months so far since we've launched on mainnet.
So I want to, for those who have not used Filand, I wanted to point out that the easiest thing to do seems to be going to the adventure tab. So that's the best way to like start getting stuff for your land that you can build with, right? Where should I point beginners to with Filands?
Yeah, yeah. Architecture is like the good starting point for the beginners. We picked up some more easy quests, but you have to do it to understand Web3. So yeah, maybe you guys If you're a newbie in this space, maybe you can start from the adventure quest.
We also released this new API last week. So if you're a new user, like your wallet, you will get the beginner quest displayed in your UI. So whatever quest you did, depending on your wallet, you get different experience in the UI basically, and the quests you haven't done show up. And actually, we can also provide this API to others like DEXs. Like let's say Uniswap, they can provide somebody who has done many swaps a different UI, and they can provide somebody who's a beginner something else. I'll actually post the Medium in the chat for people who want to check out or apply for an API.
Oh, okay, great. I also think the, the other thing to do is like go to the quest list panel and then click the unclaimed because you've already done a lot of the stuff. Like, I— oh my gosh, I just got one! I thought I claimed everything and I have a silver active rank.
Nice.
Yeah, that's really cool. So maybe I was— as we're talking, I clipped clicked— oh no, because I got the 65,000 EXP so far. So now I'm gonna click claim.
Wow.
I know, I'm pumped, I'm pumped. And what I need to do is go back through all these quests and make sure I have everything done. But this brings up a very— this brings up a very important point. And now I understand the need for gas, and I understand the need to burn, right? Because it's a Sybil resistance. It's like you're, you're preventing bots and scammers, but Can we batch these things a little bit? Because right now you have to pay per transaction. Is that in the future where we can kind of stack stuff and not pay so much gas?
Yeah. So we are thinking about how we can optimize the process to make the transaction for claiming the object, especially claiming the object. So maybe for the beginners, If you connect the wallet, there would be a bunch of objects you can claim, right? But you have to claim one by each, which is a little bit tough process. But actually, yeah, that's where we are currently discussing how we can insert the batch transaction feature, which might be like— actually, we're still discussing process. Yeah, maybe we might deploy in the future, near future. So yeah, maybe you can select the object you want to claim and then like you can run the bad batch transaction. So.
And then, and then another thing, we just, I, there's, there's a chat, a comment in the chat that I really want to get to, but, but, uh, Sphynx, I'm getting to it, but it's, it's about testnet. What was I thinking though? Oh yeah. Once I put stuff on land, I don't know how to take it off land and put it on other land. Is that possible yet? Or am I just not finding it?
Oh, you have to withdraw it from the— and then deposit it to the other ENS land, basically. Maybe you didn't withdraw it.
Yeah, I wasn't— I'm using Brave browser. So I love to turn podcasts into personal, like, troubleshooting. So thank you for doing this. But I also think that, like, if I, I think I'm, I'm pretty decent at, you know, so I, I was like, well, if I have this problem, maybe somebody else has it. Okay. So I'll switch browsers. But yeah, I'm just not like, I have a friend who is, is a Wasi and they were, Wasis are getting on Lens. And so doing the Lens Quest and they applied like a, um, a layer to their land, like the Lens land, but they did it to the wrong one. So they couldn't get the, anyway, it was a whole thing, but yeah. Okay. I'll, I'll figure that out. So the, the question in the chat is, well, let, let
me know if you
can't
do it. I'll help. No.
It's good to know that it's possible. I didn't know, 'cause you guys build so fast and you add so much stuff. I just don't, you know, maybe got lost in the sauce. Yeah, no, no, I'm excited. So the question is, there's, there's a user pointed out testnet. So why would somebody use testnet? He said like testnet is good for beginners. Why is that? What, what do, what, what can I do on testnet rather than Filand?
Yeah. So like, actually, like, like maybe for beginners, like We want to provide some like the test experiment, the text experience for like really newbie, like maybe like who doesn't have Matic, who doesn't have Ether. So, but like, yeah, maybe it's easy process, right? To get the like test Matic, Mumbai Matic, and then like just like testing the Pi and also like the some like other protocols testnet, which is like a really good opportunity for the crypto newbies to experience the Web3 protocol. It's like how it works, how the Uniswap works, and how the bridging works. They can experience it on the testnet. Yeah, but actually we will close the testnet Very soon, which takes a little bit like running costs. And we just decided to close testnet soon. So this is like a pity, but like, yeah.
The real question is, if I, am I going to unlock a bunch of stuff because I'm using testnet now? That's really what I want. More stuff for my land.
Yeah. Yeah.
I'm actually the top gas spender in all of Thailand, even though I'm not the top Yeah,
that's so
good.
That's so good.
Proud. We need a gas spender trophy. I don't have a trophy for it yet.
So this is awesome. Yeah, go.
It's actually, we do have for ETH. We don't have for MATIC though, right?
So let's talk about PoolTogether on Filand. Is this going to bring thousands, millions of wallets to PoolTogether and depositors? Is that what this is going to do?
Go ahead.
Yes, hopefully. We don't know.
That's what I like to
hear. Yeah, I mean, we can't really know how. We're still experimenting. Like, the project is 4 months old, so we actually sometimes get surprised of how much traction we receive. So, like, it's an exciting experience to analyze all this stuff, but it's cool that we're all gathering this data. Like, we have Dune dashboards for the externalities we cause in other protocols. So in time, gathering all this data, I think we will be able to maybe calculate this sort of stuff better.
Could you drop those in the chat right now? Can we see them? Are they public?
Yeah, I'd love to. I love sharing so much information sometimes. No. Yes.
Yeah, thanks for doing that. Yeah, that's awesome. And I would love to know, so there's going to be a pull-together quest, right? There's going to be You know, things that you, you can, you need to do and pull together and that unlocks different items that are claimable for you. There's also other items that you can purchase, like just for funsies that look cool and make your land really cute, right?
Yes. Populate your land with the pull-together item. Yeah. I think it's going to
be
one of the best ones, one of the best designs, I think so, like comparing with other protocols. Yeah. Yeah.
I was going to say the same thing. It's one of my favorites for sure.
Yeah. I love the like, Puri Poo design. I love it. Yeah.
It's very cute. It makes me want to put on sunscreen. It's so nice. And so what I want to do, I think we should do this as a PoolTogether community, is what is when it, when we're launching, when this launches, I want to see who actually just by default has all of the stuff. Done, like all of the quests. That would be pretty cool. But so, so we'll have to do that on the community call to like compare notes, like who's the, who's the, the coolest pooler. But then also there's an art contest that's going along with this, correct? Could you tell me about that?
Sorry, I missed the question because somebody— I was asking somebody in the chat.
I was just asking about the art contest. There's this art contest that goes along with the launch of the PoolTogether land. Yeah.
Yeah, yeah. So right, actually, like the about— actually, the, the we call the pull together campaign on FIVE is the Omikuji Pull Fiesta. So, uh, but like Pull Fiesta has 2 parts. Like first part is like pull together quest, uh, just like the deposit thing or like the, uh, getting prize. So that's more the normal on-chain activity quest for PoolTogether. And the second part is the PoolTogether pixel art contest. Like, we have the pixel art design regulation called TIDIX, which is designed by eBoy. Like, how should I say? Like, that is the pixel art regulation for designing like e-boy style pixel art. And then like we did the like the Tyrix pixel art contest, first Tyrix pixel art contest before, and then like a bunch of people are like submitted their pixel art to like which is aligning with the Tyrix. And then we also doing the same thing for the Put It Together design as well. So And then we just kicked off the, uh, this full fiesta Tariq's pixel art contest the, the, the, the 3 days ago, right? Yeah. So, and I already notified with our pixel artist community already, so that's why maybe like they're currently working on it, uh, designing their pixel art, uh, with the design team of the Puri or like Puri Pool. So yeah, I think that would be pretty cool as well.
Also, I want to add a few things about Tillix. So like the creator of Tillix standard, eBoy, who's also the co-founder of NounsDAO and Nouns, I think he's like a big culture activist with like CC0. And like, while people are trying to keep their brands closed in traditional understandings, he wants everyone to copy his work, which is kind of amazing. It's the opposite of what everybody has been doing so far, but it also resonates with the ethos of Web3. And Tillix is kind of like that. It's very, it's like a modular pixels, isometric pixel system. And it basically enforces consistency and collaboration because everybody can copy it really easily. So, like, I think he's some sort of genius who's creating these standards in Web3 with, like, Nouns, CC0, Tillix. So it's actually pretty amazing also.
So is this— so to participate in this contest, it looks pretty technical. Is it like, is there an easy way to create this stuff? Or Do I need to like get some software and be able to like use Photoshop or something like that?
Well, yeah, it's a bit difficult one. So like it's a bit high level, but like actually like, uh, you can use DALL-E. Like there is some template of the our mascot character and you just like download it and maybe adding or like coloring like the purple or Maybe like they're adding some of their hat or like changing the eye and make it more fully pulled together style. And that's also the good submission. So that's why like maybe like you first like you have to explore our design resources and just like thinking about some good ideas and you have to design by yourself. So it's a bit, it's a bit difficult one.
So I could just plug it into ChatGPT and get something good. Jeannie, have you done, have you done any of this yet? Do you have any designs that you could share in the chat?
No, it's too hard. And like, visually, I, I, I can't visualize things. Like, I went to art school and I dropped out, so I have visual taste But doing it is like, I don't think it's an easy thing. But I found the super interesting codes. Somebody like back in 2019, he actually did it in 2013. Somebody found Evo's Tilix standards back in 2013 and made like a full code thing. Like you can just change the dimensions and basically make Tilix. But it's not easy. Like you still have to be good at math and geometry. But he basically— somebody who's really good at coding can do it with these codes. He made a new one in 2019 with Java. I think it's pretty cool. Tobi is amazing.
That's awesome. That's really great. So my next hard-hitting question on the Pull Together Community Podcast is, when music? When can we add background chiptune background music to each of these lands? And I would like to compose some.
Oh, like you mean the NFT music, right?
Oh yeah. Music NFTs are the future, apparently. We're still waiting.
Are you a producer?
Oh, I make silly songs. I make serious songs. Yeah, I do like modular synthesizer stuff, but like, I would think for this it needs to be like tracker-based, you know, chiptune-y kind of things, you know.
Do you have any recommendations for music dApps? To us.
Oh, interesting. Like, like, you're already— you're hopping on, like, well, Sound XYZ is like the main one, but I would love to see like something like— Nouns actually has like Nouns Music, but it's not chiptune. It's just kind of like, um, like, uh, interchangeable like loops kind of stuff. But I would think it would need to be like more Nintendo-y, you know? Um, but maybe somebody in the audience has has some suggestions for chiptune-y type things. I guess it doesn't have to be chiptune, but I think it would be like super on brand.
I like to explore the subject because, yeah, we do need music.
Cool. Cool. Yeah, we'll brainstorm. I'll find some more links and stuff. That's really great. This is great. Shugo provided— you did like a link for previous content. We got to include this in the podcast description. This is great.
Yeah, that'd be cool. Yeah, actually, I was planning to deploy the music NFT player to each file on the page, but maybe my product manager pushed back to the timeline. So yeah, maybe I can remind him. Let's do the music NFT integration with Phi.
Yeah. Okay, so maybe it doesn't— I'm imposing a chiptune thing, but maybe not. Like, you could just have some, like, cool beach music for PoolTogether, you know, some by the pool. Yeah, that's really great. Another question is, can somebody make the Burj Khalifa of, you know, Phi Lam things? Like, what's the tallest you can do? And can we just keep going?
Burj Khalifa?
Yeah. Tallest building in the world right now.
Oh my God, really? I didn't even know that.
Burj Khalifa.
I'm behind on the real world.
Tallest building in the world, right? In Dubai.
Oh wow.
Sorry.
We should ask E-boy about this, maybe.
Maybe country, the fraction, like, which is most tallest building right now? So I'm not sure. Sure.
Because I saw this, like, in your portfolio of things on the Airtable. There's one that, like, the ENS flag is pretty huge. This tiny PhiBot is pretty big. Yeah. So anyways, that's why I was like, there's, like, our space shuttle. So anyway, yeah, there's the Web3 space base. These things are pretty big. So I'm like, how big can we go? This is pretty great.
Oh my God.
This is the 2N2. Yeah, that's a big one. Yeah, that's right.
Yeah. So what's the future of Phi Land? Are we gonna like, what? So we, I have a land, I have multiple lands, I have many lands, but what can I, can I do anything? Can I go like walk through? Can I put on my Oculus or my Meta Quest and go through them? Can we, is this the future? Is this where we're gonna live soon? What's the future?
Uh, yeah, maybe it might be some alpha, like it's fine, like maybe 24 people, right? So like, yeah, so we are thinking to Make the file more interactive. It might be like avatar. It might be there some other social feature like messaging or like maybe my team will be angry for me, so I cannot say there. I cannot say detail. Yeah, but yeah, so file land would be file land is currently just like the how should I say your like portfolio like just like they're looking at your land right. Like, which is gonna be more interactive, not just like looking at. Yes.
I want to implement a fishing game into the PoolTogether wallpaper, but I have not discussed this with the team yet.
Yeah.
Oh, so I like that. Like microgames, like games based on like themes or quests, or like if you had like a combination of a few items, then you could like play a game or something, unlock a game. That's pretty cool. We have the tallest building. The tallest building. If anybody has 1,000 ETH, they get the ETH office building on Phi Land and 3,000 EXP. That apparently is the tallest building, or if not one of the tallest.
Only 2 people. Only 2 people have it. Yeah.
Somebody lend me some ETH just for a second. I want to go claim it. I'll give it back.
That's right.
Yeah. So one thing I dream about interactivity is also like, you know how like old games or open worlds have common rooms and these common rooms are really popular because people go and play minigames and engage in there. I think it could be a cool idea to put interactivity into the objects. Like you said, a special theme, completing a set or something like that. But then, like, people's lands, each individual land can become a common room. Rather than creating a common room, we can turn each land into a common room, which could be a cool theme I have not seen in many games or haven't seen at all, I think.
Yeah, one of the things that I think needs to be solved and is currently being solved, I think, is the— you're at IRL with a bunch of crypto people and everybody's got Telegram and Twitter and wallets and all this stuff. And how do you connect with somebody rather— how do you make— how do you elegantly connect with somebody and it not be so clunky? And at ETH Denver, they handed out these WeLook cards and they're like little NFC tap things. They light it. There's a little light on it too. That's pretty sweet. But, um, yeah, it connects you. It has like your— you could put your Twitter or your LinkedIn, you could put all your stuff there. But I want to put my Filand on there as well. Like, that's pretty sweet. Like, to be able to like, look at my— here's my eXp. And, you know, so anyway, just thinking about like how socially connected— it's also kind of like the— a different way to look at a resume, just like POAPs are, you know, like POAPs and Filand, I think, are in that like, oh, wow, look at what you— you have the ETH Tower. Holy cow. And I'm like, yeah, somebody just lent me 1,000 ETH. Don't worry about it. You know? So that's cool.
Yeah. So Yeah, I think that would be cool. Like, ENS is like doing like the— they're creating some ENS card, like the people which can show your ENS avatar and also your ENS name. And that's NFC. There would be— that is like NFC tag. And if you touch the card, you can get his ENS profile. Maybe we can do kind of same thing. We can print Your file and to the NFC card, and also attaching the link of your run. And if you touch the card, like you get access to your file. And so I think that would be cool idea. That's cool.
Yeah, I'm picking up one at East Denver. I talked to somebody at ENS, and they're they're going to get me one of those cards, which I'm I'm pumped about.
Makoto-san?
Yeah, Makoto-san. Yeah, I'm sorry.
Okay, yeah. Kids goodbye. Yeah.
Very cool, very cool. So, so, uh, we have a somebody in the chat just posted a hidden quest. What are these and how do I unhide hidden quests? Or, or did— yeah, just give me all the alpha, more alpha. This is really good.
Like, yeah, hidden quest is like the, uh, we— that quest means like with without revealing the quest requirements. So that's why like maybe like a when you cannot know about when you did complete the quest requirements. So that's why suddenly you can get the object. So yeah, maybe we might increase the hidden quests.
Yeah, I like that. I just wish— so if I click on that, it's not going to tell me what I need to do. I just need to keep— like, the— Mm-hmm. Sincau Hengus just said, hunt, hunt, hunt. So that's the whole point is like, hey, go through, make sure that you completed all the adventure or all of the adventure quests. Do all the stuff that you can do right now. And maybe it'll be revealed. The other thing that you're doing is you're featuring these quests. Like, the Pool Together thing is going to be a quest. And now I'm looking at the quests that are available. There's a 1-Up Fi Game Ideathon. Which looks like I missed that deadline. You know, there's things you got, you guys are posting these contests all the time. And now I'm just like, I need to get notified. I need to like make this my homepage to make sure I'm hitting all the quests. Cause I want all the things from my lands.
Yeah. Maybe we have to think about more about like how we can notify people about contests or like new quests, but like, yeah, so actually like, uh, it's not about contests. But Daylight, they're like notification application. If you have some airdrop or claimable NFT stuff, Daylight can notify you via email and also their web app. And you can directly get the notification. Oh, you can now claim this object. And also like Taho, they also integrate with us as well. And like Zerion would integrate with us as well.
Yeah, that's through Daylight, right? Taho uses Daylight. Yeah, yeah, yeah. For the notifications. Yeah, there's PoolTogether notifications on there too. That's really great. Cool.
Oh, cool. Nice.
Yeah. So if you win a prize, boom, you get a notification. If you, if you can go claim something on Filand, boom, notification. Notifications 2023. It's the year of notifications.
That's right. Yeah.
Okay. So we talked about pull together quests on Filand. That's so exciting. We've got this art contest for the, for the, for the elite, for the technicals, but maybe I can get ChatGPT to make something for me so I can participate. And then we've talked about like potentially messaging and games in Filand. There's so much you can do. What, what does Phi Land need to grow? Like, what does Phi need for this year? Because I think in growth, right, I think BD. What is like the win for you guys this year? Like, what would be like, yeah, we knocked it out of the park, to use a baseball metaphor, or we got a hole in one to use a golf metaphor, or we are to the moon to use a crypto metaphor. You're mooning. What does that look like for you?
So yeah, so actually our goal is not just for Crypt native people, right? Our goal is like to onboard the next million users into crypto. So that's why like our final target user would be the the people who have some ether or bitcoin on the central exchange. So like Coinbase or like Binance. But like they have never touched about touched their like decentralized protocol, Web3 protocol. But like they have some ETH or Bitcoin, so maybe they'll they're bunch of like more maybe more like there a few million people there. I want to onboard them into the decentralized world. So that's my goal for this product. So that's why like we have to keep the quality of the protocol like listed on fire as well, and but like we have to. Grow more and more. Not just like the crypto project, we have to be beyond the crypto project too. So that's why we are currently talking with non-crypto native IPs collaboration as well. And maybe later of this year, so we have to focus on launching new features, of course. But we also will focus on the IP growth, like Nouns or other NFT IP stuff. They're trying to become the brand and strong IP, like Disney or some like Pokémon or maybe. Yeah. Have to aim to be that for the onboarding purpose by taking social gaming approach. So yeah.
So who? Yeah, can you give me an idea of like who you're going after then? Like who would you partner with? Who are you looking to onboard that next million? Is it Starbucks? Because everybody's going after Starbucks apparently.
Yeah, yeah. So like actually like the the. the reason why we are building on Polygon. That is actually one of the reasons. They're really strong in the aspect of business development. So collaborating with Disney, collaborating with Starbucks. Yeah, that's why we are closely working with Polygon ecosystem itself. So far it's for our purpose. Actually, when we started this project, we were trying to build on the StarkNet. But yeah, so we changed the main ecosystem to Polygon. It's because for our mission.
That's very cool. Yeah, Disney would be perfect like that. I mean, you have like, it's a small world after all, right there. That's so good. That's so good. Okay, well, anything else we should talk about? We're coming up on the hour, so I want to make sure that we cover all the bases. While we have you here, it's so awesome to have like so many in the, in the chat, so many here listening. And then, Shugo, you said it's— oh, it's good. I could share. There's only a couple of people, but then we're also going to publish this. So we got to talk about what you want me to delete out of the, out of the podcast. But anything else that you need to say before we wrap it up?
Thanks. Yeah, I think that'll be fine. So, yeah. I'm happy to be here for the PoolTogether ecosystem.
Yes, it was one of the best podcasts I've joined. You are really funny.
That's what we like to hear. We like to have good experiences on the podcast. Yes. Yes. Okay, well, Shugo and Jeannie, thank you so much for being here with the PoolTogether community. When I saw this come across my desk, aka my Discord, I was so pumped. I was like, yes, we must do Filand. We have to do this. This is perfect. And then we now see one of the best collections out there. It's just so sweet, so cute, so cute. And then it's just so beautiful. So I'm so pumped for the poolers to all have their Filands built out. We're going to burn so much MATIC, BB. We're going to burn so much MATIC. And, you know, I'll see you around at these events and stuff, and we'll have to have you on in like 6 months to just talk about, can you believe it? Like 6 months ago we were talking and now, now we have our own section in Disney World. You know, I could see it. I could see it happening.
Thanks. Yeah.
So thanks for being here, guys.
Thank you for having us.
Thank you. Yeah, thank you for having me.
All right, that's it. Nice work. So we'll—
thank you guys for having us.
Yeah, we'll push this out in a week. Okay.

Yeah, let's go.
Perfecto. LFG, LFG, baby.

Are you gonna be at East Tokyo? Am I? Can I see you at East Tokyo? Yes. Yes.
Yes. I'm from Tokyo, actually.
I love— I'm, I'm, uh, I love Tokyo. I've been like 5 times. This will be like 5 or 6. Yeah, so great city. Okay, so we'll hang out. We'll hang out. I'm just gonna be with the Fire Anchor the whole time. All right.
Like, actually, I'm going to have our first IRL party, so I can invite you to our party. Like, co-hosted by the SlowSwap. So yeah.
Yes, yes, yes. Invite me. We'll be there if I'm not— if I don't have hackathon duties, you know, like if I'm not like up all night with my hackathon crew. But yeah, I'll totally be there.
Let's do it. Yeah, it would be end of the hackathon. And the co-founder of the EtherGlobal, the Celtic, he also come to our party. So yeah.
Oh, okay. Awesome. I'll bring, I'll bring treats. It's gonna be great. All right.
