A Huge "AHA" moment...

Brian McAvoy explains why trading seems simple but feels hard, introducing his concept of the "Subtle Trap of Trading." He draws from his experience writing a book on trading traits to show traders the mental obstacles holding them back.
Hi, Brian McAvoy here with Inside Out Trading Trader Brian on YouTube today. I wanted to share with you an aha moment that I had a couple of years ago. It's definitely worth sharing with you. I'd just gotten done writing a book to help out beginning traders. At the time, I was working on a report that I wanted to publish just to give away called the seven Traits of Winning Traders. And I really put a lot of thought into that. My own experiences, the people that I know. What occurred to me when I got toward the end of that report though, was that most traders actually already exhibit these traits or have at some point in their lives. And so it got me to thinking, well, if these are the traits of successful traders and most people that get into trading have already demonstrated these in their life, why is it then that so many people are having trouble with their trading? And as a pondered question, it occurred to me that there are actually several events, five of them, that all occur quite commonly when people get into trading that really interfere with your ability to function well and to learn what you need to learn to trade well. These really become large obstacles and really put you in the wrong mindset to be a successful trader to, so to speak, learn on the job like you wrote most people need to do. When you get into trading. There are no degrees in trading that you get before you enter the trading profession. Most of this is pretty much just kind of jump into it and learn on the job. Well, if you've encountered these events, which more than likely you have, you'll find that, yeah, they do. They're huge obstacles for you. They actually are obstacles to your being able to trade well. And they do interfere with your normal functions. Because one of the other things that I was thinking about is I've had a lot of brokers tell me that they know a lot of or they have a lot of clients that are very, very astute, very smart people, very sharp business people. When it comes to money management and making money, acquiring wealth, all that kind of stuff, these people have a down pat. But in trading, they are just doing things that don't make sense, things that they would never do outside of their trading. It's those people. And like I said, most of the people that get into trading already have demonstrated these traits. So what's happening that really is getting in the way of people being successful in trading? And what came out of it was just, like I said, this huge aha and a realization that, yes, there is. It's almost like a mental trap that people get caught in and what I wound up doing was I rewrote my book and retitle it to the Subtle Trap of Trading and it's available at InsideOutTrading.com or you can go to subtletrap.com directly to find out more about it. But it really does help you understand why what what seems like something that should be pretty simple. Trading. It is. It's not that complicated. Why is it that the seemingly simple thing is so challenging for so many people? Why does it take 10, 15, 20 years for people to get good at it? So if you're curious to find out more, I invite you to swing by the Subtle Find out more about the Subtle Trap of trading@www.sut.subtletrap.com and I'll show you a link here in just a few minutes. Anyway, if you're at all curious why the whole business of trading, why it seems so tough, you might want to check this out. Probably will shed some light on it and you'll have a few aha. Moments of your own. Anyway, hope you have a great weekend trader. Brian Cheers.
