Arrival Fallacy in Trading: Why Financial Success Won't Solve Everything

Another one is the arrival fallacy, where people think that I'll be happy when I do this insert, whatever could it be? Have another baby when I finish school, when I get married, when I'm a full time trader, I'll be happy. And that, I think, is a really big psychological pitfall, because people don't necessarily fix all of their problems just because they've fixed themselves financially. I think that can be a real difficulty. And some traders, after they've quit their main job because of that, they have an idealistic view about what full time trading will be. And it can be a little bit of a thump back down to earth feeling after they've been there six months, looking at their computer and not having much social interaction, not having a boss to put those KPIs up in front of them to say, you need to achieve this and you need to do that.
