Dealing with Financial Pressures In Your Trading Right Now

Brian McAvoy from Inside Out Trading discusses how inflation and economic pressure affect traders mentally. He argues that chasing profits during tough times backfires, and instead recommends focusing on building consistent, reliable trading strategies to regain confidence.
Hi, Brian McAvoy here with Inside Out Trading. And today I want to let you know about just a really great opportunity that you have if you can make a subtle mental shift. And here's what I'm talking about. I mean, if you've been feeling some pressure, you know, from the inflation that's been going on in our country the last couple of years, and, you know, it's just, it's continuing to almost accelerate and like I said, you know, if it's causing you some, you know, some stresses, just that by itself, I'm sure it's impacted your trading. And if your training hasn't been going really well, you know, I mean, as in it's, you know, it just is running the way you would like. If it's not there, it's probably the economic conditions have probably added just a little bit of pressure for you on a daily basis to, you know, be making money with your trading and unfortunately, probably also has you, you know, chasing trades and trying harder than you really should. And here's the mental, here's the mental shift that I'm talking about. If you're feeling pressured to make money with your trading and it's the, the financial pressure is, you know, either in the background or it's fairly prominent, it's going to cause you to do a lot of things that are going to absolutely work against you. Because here's the thing, complexity does not. It works against consistency. And so everything you add to your system or everything additional that you decide to try, you know, chasing after because it looks like there's money to be made there, it's going to work against you because it's going to destroy your consistency and your inconsistencies in your trading is what's causing you to not be as profitable and as confident as you would like. I mean, here's your ideal situation scenario for your trading. That's where you have something that's fairly simple and straightforward and easy to trade and easy to execute on a consistent basis and get consistent results with, Right? So if you can shift your focus from, you know, I'm feeling pressure to make money, and I just want to be making some money. Let your shift be to a focus of. I want to get this working in a reliable manner and not that worried about, you know, the profit at the moment. I want to get. I want to have the whole thing working and where I've got known outputs and, you know, I have that reliability there, that repeatability so that I can, you know, apply it, make money, apply it, make Money, execute, make money, execute, make money. And it becomes very methodical and systematic again instead of chasing opportunities to make money. Because I mean, if you think about it, at any given moment around the world there are literally millions of trades being placed. There are millions of trade opportunities that exist at any given moment around the planet. And so you have to learn to be okay with the fact that, yes, no matter what you've got going on, there are going to be trades being placed where somebody's making money and those opportunities are there and they're there all the time. And there are literally probably a million of them that you won't get in on, but you can have the ones that are in front of you right now. And so what you want to do is say, yes, I understand there's a ton of money, a truckload of money being made every minute in other trades. I want to just, I want to make mine worthwhile and I'm not going to be chasing stuff that's only going to hurt me. And so it's this little mental shift from, you know, being focused on making profit today because you're feeling some financial pressure to. I want to get this working and I want to get it working in a reliable manner where my confidence is there, my security is there, my peace of mind is there so that I can go into my trading and I'm not feeling pressured to make money. I can just do my thing and I know that the money will come. That's where you want to get to. Now if this seems like a bit of a stretch, it may seem painfully obvious, but I wanted to raise your awareness to it because like I said, when you have that pressure floating around in the back of your mind, it gets your mentally focused on making money. Well, I see this looks like a good setup over here. This looks like a potential opportunity over here. And so you wind up doing things. Sometimes it happens fast, sometimes it's gradual over time, but you get to where you're chasing stuff that only hurts your consistency and really does not provide you with any kind of, you know, security in what you're doing and that confidence. Now, if you'd like some help, you know, discussing your situation, what you've got going on, you know, what you've tried and you know, you'd like a third party perspective to help you sort out, you know, okay, how can you get this settled down and get it working where it's reliable? Because the thing is, the way the economy is heading, what's going on with the currencies, you know, the dollar and everything around the world. It's, it's crazy towns and it's, there's no real sign of improvement on the horizon. It's likely to get worse before it gets better. So, you know, to have trading as something that provides you security rather than anxiety is a big deal. And it's really important for you to have this thing in your back pocket over here so that regardless of what's going on in the markets, regardless of what's going on with your job or your other business or whatever, you know, that you can rely on trading because you can go to the markets and you can make money, you know, anytime. Regardless of, again, what's, regardless of what's going on in the markets, this is a big deal to have that and I would love to help you, you know, get your trading to that point.
