This is a YouTube video titled "The Crucial Question for Aspiring Traders: Have You Run Your Own Business?" containing a monologue or talk recorded in May 2024. The speaker discusses the importance of prior business experience for aspiring independent traders, emphasizing the dual learning curves of trading skills and entrepreneurship.
One question. When somebody comes to me for coaching, one of the first questions I ask them is, have you ever started and run your own business before, outside of trading? Because I know that if they have, then they've gone through a lot of learning curve that they need to be an independent trader. Just all the stuff that goes with working for yourself and building a real business, the attitudes, expectations, the skills, everything. That's an entirely different head on your shoulders for from. If somebody says, well, no, I've been working for somebody else my entire life, that tells me that they've got two big learning curves to go through. They've got to learn trading and they've got to learn how to work for themselves and start up a business.
