The FASTEST Way to Improve Your Trading Skills

A trader explains why wishing for easier markets won't help you improve. The real path to mastery is the same whether you're trading or playing golf: deliberate practice and the right mindset, not hoping conditions get simpler.
Trading gets easy. When you level up, it does. It gets easy, everybody. There's a saying. I don't know if it was Jim Rohn. I think it was Jim Rohn. That's at least who I heard it from first. He said, don't wish that it were easier, wish that you were better. And that's how it is with trading. There was wonderful wisdom in what he shared with that. It's yeah, if you're up against something and it requires a certain level to do well at it, instead of wishing it was easier, just say, I'm going to get better. And just like everything else that you've pursued in your life, when you pursue that level of excellence, things get easy. When you're good at something, it's a lot easier than when you're still not so great. Here's the thing, just because you know how everything works and you know what to do, that doesn't make you good at it. Just like with golf. It's my favorite analogy. I've grown up knowing about the game of golf. My dad was an avid golfer. My grandfather was. He was like a pro level golfer. I've never been a great golfer. I understand how the game works. I know all the rules, know all the terminology that goes with it. I know all about the game. I know what I'm supposed to do. You can get your stance right, backswing right, all in. I know what I'm supposed to do as a golfer. But just because I understand the game and I know what to do, that doesn't make me good at it. Trading's the same way.
