Ep 54 | Attitude is Everything

Brian Gubernick argues that attitude shapes everything: your decisions, relationships, health, and success. He cites Viktor Frankl's survival in a concentration camp as proof that mindset can determine outcomes, then asks listeners to assess their attitude right now and adjust it to steer the day where they want it to go.

Thank you for joining me today. It's Brian Gubernick, and welcome to the No Days Off podcast, where we believe that every single day brings a new opportunity to get better. Better at business, better at health, better at relationships, just better at life. Today I want to talk about a topic that is so important to me. Today is gonna be a quick hitter. It's something I'm thinking about right now, and it's something I wanna share with everybody listening, because my hope is you're hearing this in the morning and it makes a slight bit difference to you today as you get into the office or you get into your first tasks of the day. That topic, attitude is everything. Now, we've all heard this phrase before. This is something my dear friend and mentor, Mack Newton, has hanging all over his studio. He literally hands out these, these, these giant posters that say attitude is everything. My daughters have them hanging in their room. At the end of the day, what does it really mean? I mean, I think it's pretty self-explanatory, but here's my take. Your attitude dictates all things in front of you. Your attitude impacts the decisions you make. Your attitude impacts the paths that you choose to go towards. Your attitude impacts the relationships you have. Your attitude impacts your health. It impacts your thinking. It impacts your circle. It impacts this No Days Off movement. Your attitude, what you think internally, impacts everything around you externally. What's your attitude like right now? As you're going into your day, do you have a positive attitude? Do you have a less than positive attitude? Recognize the second you step foot in that door, how you're showing up, the energy you're putting out, your body language, your tonality is going to impact everybody around you. If you're a leader, Today might be the day you gotta fake it till you make it. Today might be the day you feel down in the dumps, but you gotta step up and you've gotta put forth an attitude and change your attitude so that you positively versus negatively influence everybody around you. Attitude is everything. Go and look at book after book after book. You know, one of my favorite books, Man's Search for Meaning. By Viktor Frankl. The guy survived a concentration camp, one of the most dire scenarios you can possibly imagine. And he believed there was always opportunity. He believed he was going to live. He believed he was going to survive. His attitude, his mental attitude, his physical attitude, the words he used with those around him, the words he used as his mental chatter was going nonstop, That attitude led him to survive, whereas so many around him unfortunately passed because their will broke, because they broke. Your attitude, how you get through every single day, you know, what, what the energy you put out there, it's everything. It really is. So, quick hitter today. That's it. That's all I have for you. I want you to think about your attitude. Focusing question: do you have a good one or do you have a less than good one right now? If it's less than good, what do you have to do to change it immediately so that your day goes the direction that I know you want it to go? If you have a positive attitude right now, how do you double down on that and create even more energy, even more focus, even more encouragement, being even better better leader to those that are depending on you today. That's the focus. Your attitude is everything. Make sure you have a great one and make sure you take advantage of that and ride that wave, ride that momentum. That's all I have for you today, the No Days Off Podcast. Thank you so much for listening, and remember, every single day brings a new opportunity to get better. So let's get after it.
