Bryan Johnson breaks down how 90% of skin aging comes from everyday sun exposure, not occasional burns. The fix isn't avoiding sun but timing it right: check your local UV index and get sun during low-UV hours (early morning, early evening, around 3 on the index). When UV peaks at midday, use an umbrella, sunscreen, or a hat.

Hey friends, did you know that 90% of visible skin aging is caused by everyday sun? The goal is not to avoid the sun entirely. It's to have the right dose at the right time so you get all the benefits of the sun without causing damage that you'll come to regret. Know the UV index? Just google it. UV index your city and you'll see every day that it starts at zero and then it climbs throughout the day. It peaks around noon or one and then it goes back down. So what I do is I try to get my sun exposure in the mornings and the evenings when the UV index is low. If I'm at out in the sun during a high UV index time, I will use an umbrella, I will sunscreen or a hat or something like that to minimize the damage my skin has in that period of time. Now my personal goal on UV index is I try to target around 3 in the morning at the dawn until it hits 3. I try to get my sun exposure and then in the evenings usually happens around 5. It changes according to the time of year and of course your latitude. So in short, we love the sun. We also love beautiful skin. Make good decisions.
