Bryan Johnson is trying cerebralysin, a peptide injected into the buttocks every other day for 20 days. He reports sharper mental clarity than coffee, though he's collecting MRI scans and brain markers to measure the actual effect.

Today I'm starting a new therapy. It's cerebralysin, It's a peptide. It's been used for cognitive health. We use this needle, which has a 32 millimeter length. You can either do it in the deltoid, where you typically get a flu shot, you can also do it in the glute. I'll do it in the glute. It's easier to inject. You want to be in the top quadrant. There's four quadrants of the glute. And then you want to make sure you're at a 90 degree angle. 3, 2, 1. It's a little painful, but it's okay. This is injection number five. I've been doing this for 10 days. It's 5ml every other day. And we'll do it for a total of 20 days every six months. So far, subjectively, it is the best thing I've ever done. For mental clarity, better than coffee, better than tea, better than anything. So again, it's subjective. We will be doing more robust measurements with mri, looking at all sorts of brain markers, probably at the six month mark. So at that point I'll check in and share with you what effects we think this had.
