In this interview excerpt, the host (Speaker B) emphasizes sleep as a fundamental pillar of health, stating that proper sleep makes daily life easier. The host then asks Bryan Johnson to describe his personal sleep routine, setting up a discussion about how he optimizes sleep for health and performance.
The next one I just want to touch upon is sleep. Okay. Because this is. This for me, I think is one of the most important pillars of health. Because I think if you get your sleep right, everything else becomes a little bit easier throughout your day.
Yes.
Now talk to me about your sleep routine.
So my sleep routine, I like to think of myself just like I like the idea of I'm a professional rejuvenation athlete. I like to think I'm a professional sleeper and I behave that way. And it's my number one priority in life because I am a creature that is subject to my B chemical states. And when I don't sleep well, I'm ornery and I'm discouraged about life and I don't feel as much hope and my mind is cloudy and I make inferior decisions. And so there's just. There's not a single thing I can do in my existence that is more powerful to influence my conscious mind, that influence my mind, period, than sleep. And so I basically designed my life around sleep.
