Bryan Johnson meditates twice daily by imagining himself in the 25th century looking back at today. He uses this mental time-travel to reduce bias, gain clarity, and see his present self the way a future person might judge him.

I try to meditate every day, morning and night, even if it's just for a few minutes. I try to transport myself in time so I'm present. I always use the 25th century in my mind, like a few hundred years. And I try to imagine being present there. And I'm looking back at this time and place. Now we know that in us looking back through history, in any given moment, whatever is the social, cultural norms of how people live life and. And what their concerns are and how they understand reality are very different than what we have now. And we look back and we're pretty harsh in being judgmental about them and their practices because we view ourselves as, relatively speaking, much more enlightened or advanced. And I do this to try to create clarity, because I view that my primary role in society at this point is trying to find wisdom from the future. And so my meditations are all about that is trying to see myself as clearly as I can in this moment relative to my future self.
