Andy Galpin teaches the Step Through, an equipment-free exercise you can do anywhere. Step forward and touch your opposite foot with the opposite hand, keeping your shoulders stable and moving slowly. Small changes in foot placement and height let you adjust it for speed, strength, or endurance.

What are the exercises that everyone can do at home? That's free, that's easy, that contribute a lot to overall well being. So I call this exercise the Step Through. It can be done in a small amount of space. It can be done for multiple adaptations. Speed, endurance, posture, strength, and a whole host of movement patterns. So now what I want you to do is go ahead and kick through that foot over to me, and I do it nice and slow and controlled. Okay, Great. Your shoulders working to be stable. You're actually contracting from your left shoulder to your right toe, which is a cross connectivity. Go ahead and do another one. We're working on posture, we're working on transferring a force. So one thing with exercise that people have a problem with is they get too restricted being specific. Instead of going that same position, I want you to come and touch me with that foot. Great. Now we've changed the movement a little bit, right? Technique over here. Touch my foot this way. Okay, come back. Touch it up nice and high over here. Amazing. Almost over there. There we go. That's.
