Bryan Johnson describes 25 years of work toward a single goal: preventing death. He calls this shift from accepting mortality as inevitable to treating it as preventable the "don't die" era, and sees his life's purpose as helping catalyze that transition.

I have been working to do something meaningful for the human race for 25 years. I felt this burning desire inside to do something that would help others. And so I've been on this serpentine path for 25 years, and it crystallized in don't die. And so if I think about my life in its entirety, and if my life were to be boiled down into one sentence or two words, it would be this that I hope. My contribution to the human race is that in this moment in time, when we're transitioning from understanding that death is inevitable and a pursuit of life in that vein, to something where death is not inevitable and we may be able to dramatically extend how long and how well we can live, that we're in a new era of being human, that don't die is pinned as the moment that started to happen. And if that could be the case, I would be thrilled about Life Journey.
