Bryan Johnson argues we pour energy into external technology while ignoring systematic human improvement. He proposes measuring every organ, determining its optimal state, and creating guidelines to align them. He claims this approach has given him unprecedented internal cooperation.

What is the singular thing I can put my finger on and do that would be useful to other people? A focus on improving humans might yield unusually high benefit. We spend a tremendous amount of time building our own technology, not as much on systematic compounded growth of ourselves. We need to figure out how to cooperate or goal align within ourselves between each other. With artificial intelligence and with planet Earth, we hear the discussion of, oh, we need AI to have goal alignment with humans. To me, that's kind of a silly statement because it presupposes that humans have same goals, and that's not true. Even within self, we have different goals. So no one's aligned anywhere at any time. Can I go align even me within me? Could we begin measuring every organ of my body, asking it what it needs to be in an ideal state? Looking at the evidence, design a clinical guideline and repeat. And so you're asking all the organs and all of Brian to cooperate. So it's actually the first time in my entire life I've been able to achieve cooperation within me.
