Bryan Johnson imagines observers from the 25th century looking back at the early 21st century and identifying one pivotal breakthrough: the ability to dramatically slow or neutralize human aging. His concept called Blueprint proposes tethering human self-improvement to the accelerating pace of science and technology, potentially reversing or halting aging.

Let's do a thought experiment. Yeah. Let's say people in the 25th century are talking about the 21st century, the time you and I occupy, and they're ruminating and they're marveling at something we did in the early 21st century that changed the course of human history. Okay, what is it? The answer, I think, is we figured out how to dramatically slow and or neutralize our aging. If we think about our technology and we say, how good is technology going to be in 20 years? We say, better and a lot better. We're accustomed to our technology getting better fast. If we say, what are you and I going to be like in 20 years? We just assume on a decay and decline curve. Now we want to slow it down, but we just assume we're on our path to death. And so blueprint is basically a contemplation of in the early 21st century, what is possible in our time and place. And the hypothesis is, if we tether ourselves to technology and science, we could begin improving ourselves at the speed of technology and science.
