Hi, I'm Beverly Simpson, former fitness manager turned online personal training business owner. And this podcast is where smart fitness professionals, including trainers and clinicians, discover how to increase client performance in movement, package and position their products and services services and get out of their own way so that they can increase their revenue to live a life that they love without sleazy sales. Welcome to the PT Profit Podcast.
What's up coach? Thank you so much for tuning in to another episode of the PT Profit Podcast. I'm your host, Beverly Simpson, and if this is your first time you are hanging out with me today, thank you so much for pushing play. I'm super pumped that you're here. Today's short episode, I'm going to give you three quick content hacks that you can implement today in the next three days to increase your client inquiries. Now these might seem easy, simple, but I, as someone who has spent the last few days, I have literally gone through hundreds. And I think if I want to get super technical, I'm just thinking into my brain, I want to say that I have gone over 500 health and wellness fitness professionals in the last three days content. And here are some easy, simple things that I have seen on a consistent basis that people often miss. And so I'm going to go ahead and just lay these out for you so that you can get more inquiries. And so the first one, you may or may not have heard this before, but let me just give you a an additional tip to help make it easier for the client to DM you. So the first one is add a cta, but make that CTA be specific. Now, CTA stands for call to action. And I don't mean just any call to action. I don't mean a, like this, tag a friend, bookmark this, save this. If you want to, I mean, call to action to inquire about working with you. If you want to learn more about this, send me a dm is what I hear people say or see people say I should say. I'll see people say things like if you want to, if you want to become a client, send me a dm. Now I'm going to encourage you to get super specific in that call to action. Call out the benefits of reaching out for you. So what I mean by that is any ask, any ask is an offer. And if you haven't heard me talk about an offer before. I'll link some episodes in the show Notes because an offer is not just your products and service, it's not your dollar for hour. An offer is a presentation of the transformation. And sometimes it's often with a deadline to decide not to force someone to buy, but to make a decision on yes, this is a heck yes for me or no. So what specifically is the person who DMs you going to receive when they DM you? If you want more clarity on how to build strength without being in the gym. So notice how I'm talking about specifically the outcome, the benefit. And I'm also addressing the frustration what they don't want the effort and sacrifice that they're musing on. So what is it specifically that your program does and how this conversation in the DM is going to provide clarity on how your program is going to work for them if they're the right fit. If you want to learn more about taking one of the remaining spots, send me a dm. But now the second part of this so this is the second content hack that I'm going to offer to you is make that CTA a specific word to dm. Send me a DM with next steps. And here's why it might look and feel cheesy inside of your post. The reason we want to do this though is because remember, your client may not be used to connecting with strangers and let alone strangers, your client actually might not be used to connecting with people they admire. One of the things that really blows my mind and continues to blow my mind is that we all have people that we admire that we look up to that we want to be like and we forget that our clients look to us in the same way. And it and you may feel like, well I'm just Joe or I'm just Harry. If you remember, if you get that Harry Potter reference and it may feel like no one looks at me like that and it might seem, you know, this is why when people are saying things like you're inundated in the fitness industry with this message and I'm thinking to myself, they're following one person. They're following you. Maybe Jordan say it, but they're following you. And as their fitness person, as a general in the general population, they're not tend to not be following a whole bunch. Even your avid, avid, avid exercisers. They might be following five to six fitness accounts, but that's it. They're following you. So when you are inviting them into the DM Sometimes it's awkward and sometimes they feel like I don't know what to say. So give them that first step. Tell them what to say. It will open the door for an invitation. So if you're writing a post, invite them to say something. Now if that really feels cheesy to you, you can say, great. Then put a comment down below if you want to learn more about next steps. That sometimes can feel scary for a new content creator, because what if I post something and I'm like, drop a fire, drop a heart if you want to learn more, and no one drops a heart and that can feel a little bit more exposed if you will. So know your threshold. But then what happens when someone comments? When someone likes? That is an invitation to open up the conversation. We're not going to slide into the DMs easily and be like, hey, I've got this amazing opportunity for you. Hey. Or do you want to blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, right? That's, that's not what we're doing. We're opening up conversations and connections. Because remember, a conversion happens from connection and conversation. So if you want to increase your conversions, you need to increase your conversations, whether it's on the phone and or in the dm. So when someone likes your post, when someone book, when someone comments on your post, that's an excellent opportunity to open up a DM conversation with that person and say, hey, thank you so much for commenting on my post. Would love to know what your biggest takeaway was. Open up the conversation. The third content hack is I want you to add this CTA at least three times a week, especially if you're trying to fill up your high ticket group coaching or if you're trying to increase your one on ones for cash flow. The truth of the matter, if you want to make more sales, if you want more revenue, is that we need to have the opportunity to present the offer more. And the truth is that people are not selling enough. And when I say selling, selling does not mean being sleazy, doesn't mean promoting, it doesn't mean any of that. Selling is a, if you are a business owner, you are selling all the time, either your perspective or your products and services. And what is so confusing to me is that even in the content creation world, we've got people that are telling you to sell less. You have people that are telling you, oh, I make more money because I sell less. Which plain and simple is not true. And the reason why I say that is because they have mastered the art of selling without selling, which is what we do and teach inside of formula and accelerator, for the record. And what they're doing when they're mastering the art of selling without selling is that they're making a case for taking the next step. They're providing clarity on the what and the why. And they're opening and creating the demand, either with authority. Look, I've done this and I can show you how to do this. Look at what my client Sally is doing, or they're doing it with stories of the gap like, if you don't do this, here's the consequence, here's the benefit of learning a simple step by step process. Make no mistake, if people are making six figures, five figures, if people are making one figure, a dollar, they have presented an offer. There is an opportunity to go to the next step. So the reason why I get so passionate about, about people when they say, oh, sell less is because this speaks to the person who has an uncomfortable relationship with selling. And I want you to go and look at your trash right now. And I want you to look at all of the items that you have literally thrown away. I guarantee you that those were goods that were pur either by you or someone else in your household at some point. So the first thing we really need to understand is we need to change our relationship to selling and recognize that when we present an offer to help someone, we are calling them to take action and to commit to themselves. And that the action, the transformation, happens after the transaction, whether it's free or not. Because it's usually not free. Remember that free time and money are, have a synergistic inverse relationship. And when you are saying yes to something, you're literally saying no to something else. So when you're asking for an email, real estate, or you're asking for their time that they're investing, they can't get it back. So every ask is an investment of time, money or even text message real estate or email real estate or DM real estate. So if you want to make and generate more revenue and increase your client inquiries, ask for them more, ask for them more. And most people that are struggling, when I look at their content, when I look at their, their marketing Strategy, they're selling 20% of the time, when in reality we should be selling 80% of the time. And the truth is we're actually selling a hundred percent of the time. Whether you're selling your perspective, whether you're selling something free, or whether you're actually inviting someone to action and say yes to themselves, that can Be very motivating and very inspiring to someone. Because the alternative and what happens to people when they are in this flow, when they are wanting to build no like and trust and then they're going to sell, is that they end up one or more of these things, is that they'll end up trying to build no like and trust, and then they show up apologetically selling for four days. Because that, you know, that's the launch model and that's what I see all the big gurus doing. That's what's happening. And honestly, honestly, that's not what happens. When you look closer, when you look behind the scenes, what's actually happening is that momentum is getting built up, people are getting excited, there is demand that is being harnessed, and people are literally open, open, open, open by the time the doors actually open. There's no sense of apologetically selling. It is legitimately, when can I do it? It's legitimately going to help people move into a purchasing decision. So what happens when you're, when you do that accidentally or when it feels like it's an apologetic sell, is that when you open the cart for four days, people aren't anticipating. They don't know it. We think that we're super obsessed with ourselves and that all we're doing is sell, sell, sell, sell, sell every single day of our lives. But that's actually not what's happening. So if you're feeling nervous at all and you're feeling apologetic or you're feeling like you don't want to be sleazy, I 1000% get it. You are not alone. So if you need help with that, of course you can, of course reach out to me. Let's have a conversation about it in the dm. You could tag me over at my new account, Team Beesons and Fitness. In a couple of weeks, I'll be changing it back to be Simpsons and Fitness. I just have to go through that grace period because I changed my name of my old account. I'm happy over there in my account, my new account. It's going to be a fun summer. This is the opportunity right now to practice using and doing these three content hacks, implementing this content creation, and use these specific CTAs to increase your conversions. After you get the client inquiries, I'm going to give you one more. I know I said three, but I'm going to give you some bonus tips as well, because conversions happen in the conversation. So in your story, in your Instagram story, I want you to invite Engage Engagement. So do Some polls do, some polls do, some quizzes invite the conversations to get started there because like I was saying in Hack number two, people want to have a reason to start the conversation. Sometimes an open ended like what do you want out of your life? That can feel really overwhelming to answer. So stories are an excellent opportunity for you to start and open up the conversations. And then the other thing to the other bonus side tip that I'm going to give you, which I think could be a whole nother episode, is that, you know, one of the things that we're seeing inside of the fitness industry is, is people go, you know, really going on these health trends and then, you know, ripping them apart. So as someone who teaches polarizing content, as someone who teach who is passionate about shifting perspective, I'm just going to offer this last food for thought is that we can shift perspective and still be kind. And so one of the ways that you can do that is to share your stories. So share what you're going through, share why you are shifting perspective, share how this has changed your life and your client's life. One of the other things that you can do this is just a quick subconscious hack is change the word but in your content. In the and so instead of saying but you can say and so for example, when you start a piece of content and you say by all means, if you like this drink, keep drinking it. And if you want to have Coke, drink Coke as opposed to saying but. Because when you say but you pretty much invalidate everything that was said before but subconsciously. So you can use but but just be very strategic with that word and know specifically what it is you are subconsciously doing. You can say and instead of but and that will validate and shift perspective.
