What's up, coach? Thank you so much for pushing Play on another episode of the PT Profit Podcast. I'm your host, Beverly Simpson, and if this is the first time that you're hanging out with me today, thank you so much for pushing play. I wanted to create this episode because I have an unpopular opinion in, I think, about client results and case studies. And I wanted to talk about it and share here inside of the podcast. So let's go ahead and dive in. So, first of all, I want to just put some context around this episode of why I wanted to create it, which is it's going to sound a little bit almost counterintuitive. And if you're an accelerator client, you might even start to panic a little bit because you've probably heard me say a million times, go and get case studies, go and get testimonials. We want to hear, and your people need to see that your process is proven. And so I think this is a nuanced conversation, and I wanted to create some longer messaging around it because I think it's just really important that we clarify the difference between making a buying decision on someone else's results, which is one of the worst things that you can do, versus demonstrating and showing that this process is proven and backing it up. And so I think it's a nuanced conversation. And one of the things I want to say, which I think is very different than most people, is the truth of the matter is that what. And for you as the person who is creating your programs, your products, your services, I think that the client case studies and testimonials are essential for you to get more convicted on your process and know that it's proven and then back it up with a guarantee. That's what helps me sleep at night, if I'm being honest with you, is that when I'm so certain that my process is proven that it will help you, that if I call in the right client who is dedicated, who's ready to do the work, who's ready to build the machine, that it will take what it take, until it takes. And if you meet me with all that conviction and all of that openness and ready to work, then I, I'm willing to back up and guarantee outcomes because I know that it will, because I know that the process is proven. But this is different than saying, hey, this worked for Sally. And so, and so, so it's going to work for you. It's different. So I'm coming in with that, that commitment, that level of this is going to work because I know that the process is proven as long as you're willing to be open, coachable, and show me that you're dedicated and ready to do the work. When that happens, everyone wins. And so I think it's very different than making a buying decision based on other people's results. That's like saying, oh, Sally, my next door neighbor did keto and lost 40 pounds, so she did it. That is obviously going to work for me. And I probably don't have to tell you how effective that is. So there's two things here at play and why I wanted to make this, this, this, this video, this, this episode, this podcast. Because what I started to notice in myself, which was really so frustrating for myself, was that I was making all these buying decisions based on other people's results because I wanted those results. So I was deciding, oh, Sally got is at a million dollars. So I want to be at a million dollars. I'm gonna buy from Sally. Or I will be hit with all these advertisements of another company that is like, oh, they got $35,000 in seven days. So, oh, I must my program, my process be as awesome as their process. So that must mean that I need to be cheaper or, oh, I need to just be quieter. I need to dim my light. No, that's just one of the worst things that you could do because, sure, there's so much invisible context that a people don't shine the light on and talk about because it's not part of the highlight reel, number one. The number two, that's not market math. Like, so, for example, this one, this, this specific ad that I keep seeing over and over again, right? That's one anecdote person. And what we don't see is a how much, you know, what was the level of skill acquisition that client had, how big was their audience, what is the offer, how much money did they spend? Right? All of that stuff we don't see and then yet we Make a buying decision while if they did it, that process must work for me. And it kills me because here's just some of the stuff that I hear my accelerators talk about. Like I just enrolled in accelerator the other day and they were telling me about this specific process, this program and I was looking at it and I was like whoa. And I couldn't believe the smoke and mirrors. I was shocked when I saw the back end of what it is they actually received. And I thought to myself, ikes. And I thought I wasn't, I thought what I brought to the table wasn't valuable. I've also had the reverse experience where I've invested in something and I thought, oh my gosh, I got all of this for that. That's the kind of experience you want to be creating with your offers right where you over deliver, but not at the expense of your well being because you cannot pour from an NC cup, which is what I see so many really smart and struggling coaches do. They just want to give, give, give, give, give. Forgetting that there is also an energetic component, an energetic exchange where your client actually says yes to themselves. They have enough on the line where they show up and do the work. Okay. I've also had the experience myself where I've invested in something because I wanted those results. And then that what I've been grossly disappointed by what was returned. Grossly disappointed. And that's a couple of things. It's me making a buying decision and not being clear on the deliverables and then realizing, oh they, they got that outcome because they charge that outrageous amount of money. And listen, this is all context for me. I'm saying outrageous amount of money because I'm measuring it against the deliverables and the outcomes of what it is that I got and my expectations. So, so listen, I'm not off the hook here. I'm not putting myself off the hook here and I'm not blaming anybody. In fact, I'm getting very clear about my level of respons, what I needed to do for myself. And I'm so grateful for those experiences because now I'm here and I'm sharing with you exactly how I felt, what I did, where my level of responsibility is, which is where I realized this was the moment where I realized, oh wow, I had made a buying decision based on someone else's results and I did not do my due diligence for myself to recognize that this was out of alignment. And I'm not even saying oh, that process is bad and I shouldn't have done that. Right? Because I've seen the case studies and I've seen how that coach or that process, that, that course, that program, how that process worked very well for someone else is just not going to work well for me. So this is not about. There is a right way, a best way, the only way. All of that is not true. All of that is, is nonsense and noise. What you really need to do is get honest and clear with yourself about who you are, who are you, what works for you, what speaks to you. Okay, so how to know if a proof of a proven process? Because the truth of the matter is everyone's going to tell you that it's proven and it probably is true. It's probably true that it is proven for some people. This is not a case or a matter of is this process really proven? No, it probably is. We just need to make decisions now. We have to get to this point where we can make a decision on will this proven process work for me. Because I've also had this experience and this happened to me too. And this is my level of responsibility. I own this where I've invested in a program because of the result that someone else got and I wanted that result. So it must work. And I was sharing with this coach. This is what I wanted to create. And at the time I was working on building my membership, I was working on building my 30 and 30 Fitness membership. And it was amazing and I loved it and I, I, it was a great experience for me. It helped me stay on track, it helped me be accountable. I helped lots of moms, like lose lots of weight and keep it off and do it in a great, cautious way. Honestly, sometimes I talk about it and I think about my 30 and 30 membership and I'm like, maybe I should bring it back. Anyway, anyway, side note. What, you know, so when I'm, when I'm thinking about this and I was, I was working with this coach at this time, I wanted to create a different way to generate leads. Now my offer was working, it was converting, okay? And I wanted a different way to generate leads. And so when I invested in this coach, she actually changed my entire business model. And I realized very quickly, based on the process that I. That's not, you didn't listen. And that's not what I wanted to create. I wanted to grow the membership. I didn't want to create this high ticket, one on one experience. Okay? And so it's not that that process was bad. In fact, this is very, very similar to what we do inside the Accelerators is that I help you create an offer stack where you're going to have premium offers as well as accessible offers, but it's going to be for a specific market space. But again it's specifically designed to meet you where you're at. It's not about my way, the only way, the best way, the right way. Because the truth of the matter is that all roads lead own. I can point to really successful seven figure memberships that are $45 a month. I can point to really successful people who can generate, you know, who have premium offers that are high ticket and cost, I don't know, upwards of 5 to $30,000 in investment, even B2C business to consumer. So it's not about finding the right thing, it's about what is going to work for you. This requires you to know yourself. You need to know what is the level of support that you need. Now this can be hard because sometimes you don't know what it is that you don't know. And you can't ask those questions because you don't know. In order for me to learn this, I needed to just make those decisions and I needed to trust that every decision that I was going to make for myself, for my business was a lesson. It was something I was going to learn, it was something that I needed. And I'm so grateful for those experiences. I would not take it back in a million years. Otherwise I would be continuing to make the mistakes that I have made in the past where I actually also used to like. I know that this is the way you need to do this way and I've lost clients over that. I broke relationships over that because I broke sense of trust and not trust in me as a person, but trust in the process, process. And when that happens, that's damaging. Oh, I'm so grateful that I had those experiences myself because now I can learn from them. Now I can share them with you in the hopes that you learn the lesson faster than I did and so that you could grow faster, make more of an impact, make more revenue faster. So I'm grateful for those experiences. That's part of what brought this episode to you today that you're listening to right now or watching right now, which is that you need to know yourself and you need to know what is the level of support that you need, what is it that you like, what is it that you don't like and get clear on that that requires context and you're not going to get that context unless you make decisions and make no mistake you being on the fence, you waiting, you deciding. That's a decision. Here's just a very long, expensive decision, in my opinion. But it is a decision. So you need to know yourself. You need to know what it is, the level of support that you need, what is it that you need? Or number two, how to know if this process will work for you. It the other thing too, and this is just my opinion, but is there some type of guarantee satisfaction component in the program? That is where the coach also has something on the line, number two, so that there is an energetic match because it doesn't have to just be you. Part of what makes my program, I think, different is that I'm willing to back up that the process has proven no matter what market space that you're going to be in. So I'm willing to take on that risk. And it has nothing to do with whether it worked for Sally or whether it worked for John or whatever. But because I have those results, because I have those case studies, I can confidently back up my process. Can you? And then the third thing to know is how will is will this process work for you? Honestly, it comes down to are you coachable? Are you willing to look at every experience as the lesson that you need or the success that you want? Because if that is the case, then you literally cannot get this wrong. Because the longer you stay in indecision, the longer you wonder what if? The more you have on the line, the more at risk you have on the line. So what decision would you make right now about whatever it is that you're considering if you knew you couldn't get it wrong? Because when you can trust yourself, when you can go all in on you and do it faster, then you literally have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
