What's up coach? Thanks so much for pressing play today. I'm your host, Beverly Simpson and today it's just you and me hanging out. We're going to be talking about how just posting every day isn't a business strategy and what actually is, is. And then we're also going to be talking about some types of content that you can create and we're going to be talking about some of the new updates that I've been seeing specifically around posting. Okay, let's go ahead and just dive in. So first of all, if you're new around here, you may or may not have heard me say this before, is that people and a lot of well meaning business coaches out there will say, just post every day, Just post every day. Just post every day. Well, if you're anything like me and you posted every single day for eight months and nothing happened, then clearly just post every day isn't enough of a strategy. But what happens is that most well meaning business coaches, they can't really break down for you what specifically is happening inside this piece of content that's going to compel people to take the next step. Step. And so it becomes our job to really break down the components of a compelling piece that goes inside of your Instagram, your podcast, your wherever your people are hanging out. And so even with the Instagram updates, there is this question because it does beg the question what's more important, quality or quantity? Because is it more important to post once a week and really spend your time and focus in on your piece of content, or is it more important to just pump out as much quantity as possible? So I'm going to give you my thoughts and my intake on it because ultimately it's really going to come down to what is your intention and where are you in your strategy. So I'm going to link it up in the show notes because if this is your first time here and this is the first time you're hitting on this on my podcast. Well, first of all, a welcome. But second of all, I really want you to go back and listen to last week's episode all about building your 90 day content plan. Because for me, depending on your plan, that's what's going to determine what becomes next to post or to create. And so when someone tells you, hey, we need to just, just post every day, just posting every day without a strategy, that's like going to group fitness class and then pretending that you're going to get shredded. Just go to group fitness class every day. That's not how that works. So let's just review some business basics really quickly. That all businesses need people prospect and purchases. And I've also been saying that, you know, you'll hear people say people buy from people that they know like, and tr. Well, is that really true? And how do you know if they know like and trust you? It may be true, but think about it. Look at this. You can't see this, but this pink orchid plant. If you're watching my YouTube, you probably can see it. But I didn't know the person that made this, but I bought it. Now I get it. I know some people are going to fight me on this and be like, yeah, but it's different when you're working with the coach. You need to know, like, and trust the coach. You know, I've really been thinking about that recently and. And I've never hired a coach because I knew, like, and trusted them. I hired a coach because I believed that they were the. I believed that they had the answer and the solution to my problem. So what I was really, what I recognized and realized is that I moved through what I now call the ladder of believability. It's funny because manifestation, babe, she talks about the ladder of believability as it relates to manifestation, which is what inspired, I guess, that name. However, for me, I talk about the ladder of believability in terms of the customer experience, where they go from. I believe in you, I believe in your offer. I believe in myself that I can do it and I believe that I need it now. And when they go through that experience, that's what's going to move them through that customer journey of becoming people to prospect, to purchase. And every business has this like, take for example, if you were walking around New York, okay, and let's just say soho, and you're just walking around and you see a shop and you look on the outside and you're like, oh, I could go in There. So now you're gonna go in there. Now you've become a prospect. You're feeling this, you know, going through the experience of being in the store and then making a decision about whether or this is the solution to your problem. And you make a decision to walk out, to purchase, whatever the case may be. But all businesses go through that and have that, like, oh, I need this and I need it now. Oh, there's a sale, there's a Memorial Day sale. I gotta get this. Even your brick and mortar businesses have this experience. So that is what your content's designed to do. So just posting every day isn't enough. You know who's I posted every day for eight months and my mom and my husband, they were my number one fans and they liked every single thing. They commented on every single thing, and they were there for me. They know like and trust me, and they weren't my customers. Now, when I say this, friends, this is not to say though, that not, you know, so let's go back to that loop that I opened up when I was talking about what's more important, the content or the quality or the quantity. Well, they're both important. And if you were to ask me what my opinion is on what you should focus on, the truth is both. But in my opinion, it's more important to be consistent than it is to be perfect. And so quantity is going to breed quality as long as you have an idea and you are measuring key performance indicators and you are sharpening the saw and getting better at it and implementing your strategy. Because if you're just throwing spaghetti on the wall and seeing what sticks, then that's not a business. And so here's the catch, is that doing the quantity of posting is going to give you the reps. Nobody goes into the gym and deadlifts £400 on their first try. Same thing with creating your content. So doing the reps and producing the quantity and then measuring the performance and then adjusting, that's going to create the quality. But oftentimes so many people, they just don't know what a good quality piece of content looks like. And they think it's, oh, I need to get this fancy picture or need to get all these videos, but that's just actually not it. A good quality piece of content is what moves people through that ladder of believability and moves them through that customer journey. Because when you can nail that, then you're winning. And that's what will move them to be a, a customer sooner. And then when you nail this skill, this is when you master the art and science of non selling in every piece of content that you're putting out there makes a case for the next step. And so that's why just post every day isn't a strategy. It's not going to be what builds your business. Using your content to move them through that ladder of believability and creating a case for your business plan that are in for your 90 day content plan based on your offers, that's going to be what moves people. And so now in terms of the quantity, how much? Well, I'm, you know, taking consistent, messy action is always going to be the winner in my opinion. And so I will tell you right now that I have been split testing, posting on Instagram three to five times a day. Three times a day. And I'll note in my reaches engaged, my engagement is engaged. But you know, I'm never going to tell someone to do that if it bogs them down. So I will say quantity is important, but at least stay consistent. So if it means posting every single day on Instagram, that's what I would do. I would focus three, I would also focus three, three, three to five times on TikTok. And the reason why I'm saying TikTok is that short form content is not going away. Instagram did not want you at first posting three times a day. They actually hurt your reach and they press down your content because at first, when Instagram first came, they were posting things as they were numerically being presented, but that isn't actually what. But then, and then people were spamming and then they introduced the algorithms. So then they started rewarding content that was coming in and they started rewarding algorithm that or they started rewarding content that was resonating with an engaged audience by using the algorithm. And it was a good thing. And now TikTok has come to the world and TikTok and they're competing with TikTok and people want to be on TikTok a lot. So. So I would suggest to you to post more quantity. Use these principles that we talk about, post them in your reels. And yes, you do want to post. It's not to say that it's not important to post because you don't want to be the Internet's best kept secret. But posting without intention, without strategy, that's going to be where we get into trouble. And so now I have gone deep in terms of the types of content that you can be creating and these are principles, you can create them anywhere, podcast, YouTube, I'm going to link those shows to this episode.
