Welcome to the PT Profit Podcast.
What's up, coach? Thank you so much for joining me on another episode of the PT Profit Podcast. I'm your host, Beverly Simpson. And today, in this short episode, I'm going to walk you through three ways that you can reduce your content creation time by half so that you can show up publicly in your social media platforms, actually consistently generate leads without feeling like you have to spend hours creating content and living on social. So let's go ahead and dive in. So today's episode is brought to you by the questions that I've been consistently receiving both inside my Jumpstart program as well as my accelerator program. And what I keep hearing over and over and over again from from my clients is that you're a coach and you didn't start your own business and become a coach in order to become an influencer and content creator. And when you look out into the space, you see all these people who are constantly promoting post seven times a day, eight times a day, ten times a day, one time a day, three times a day. And then it can get easy to feel like you are are bogged down by trying to create these perfect pieces of content in order to generate leads. And then so many people will share, mean that they're spending hours deciding what to post, how to post, what to say, what it needs to be, instead of doing what it is that they love to do, which is actually coach. Now, the truth of it, unfortunately, is that especially if you're building an online business or you are powerfully using online to build a brick and mortar business, is that we need to generate traffic. We need to generate traffic of an audience. So what's the difference between followers and an audience? Well, an audience are people that are prospects or potential prospects, people that are going to raise their hand, come into your space and consider working with you because they've learned something powerful from you. And so it's not a secret that content is going to be your best opportunity. To be introduced to, to a potential audience and to grow an audience. Now, this doesn't mean that you have to spend hours creating content. It also doesn't mean that you have to post every single day. It does mean, though, that you need to show up every single day. But what does showing up look like? Well, it can look like showing up in your story. It can look like showing up in a conversation and introducing yourself and saying, hey, I'm so and so and I'm here. It can look like doing a presentation for somebody else's audience. It can look like a whole bunch of different things. Regardless, it means it has to be in alignment with you and it also has to be you showing up with intention. So I said I was going to give you three ways, but I'm going to go ahead and give you a bonus and we're going to start with the first, most important, which is getting very clear about how it is that you want to show up and getting clear with your intention on what this piece of content is specifically designed to do. So there is a difference between posting on the socials, creating a podcast, creating content, or doing something. But with the energy of I need to just check off that I did this today versus I need to check off that I am creating this piece in the hopes of introducing myself to new audience members and practicing the skill of, of content creation. That is a very different energy than I just need to get it right. I need to do what the gurus say. I need to just post every single day. This is why I always say just posting every single day is not a business strategy. But if you are posting with the intention of I need to practice getting in front of my audience. I need to practice showing up. I need to practice this skill, that acquisition, this, this persuasive and influential and serving master the art of selling without selling skill. That is very different, then I need to just do it right. I need to do what the gurus say I need to post every single day. It is a different energy. And so when you can wake up in the morning and say to yourself, what do my clients need to hear from me today? Or potential clients need to hear from me today and what can I do that is going to be in alignment and easy? How can this be easy? That is going to reduce your content creation by half. Why? Because you are going to remove the pressure that you're putting on yourself to get it right, to get it perfect. It doesn't matter what the guru say. It doesn't. None of that matters. What Matters is that you are showing up in the energy of who can I serve today? Who needs to hear what I have to say? So number one, start there. Okay, so number two, getting into the three, three ways to reduce your content creation that I prepared for you is let's put together a plan and let's put together a periodized marketing plan. So now what I teach my accelerators and my jumpstart students is to a macro and micro cycle of content. And so what does that mean? It means that we are going to carry someone through a linear experience. And the reason why we do that is to save you time. It's the same thing that you're doing when you're doing meal planning or when you're doing meal prepping or when you're doing a program preparation is that you are starting to automate the process for your brain. Nobody is consuming your content, going, oh, there he goes again. He must be in the interrupt phase or oh, there he goes again. He's doing a, a how to piece of content. No one is experiencing your content through that lens. I help my clients craft this type of messaging plan and linear experience through their content to help you save time. I do it in a way so that it helps people create the content that will connect with their ideal client subconsciously. So your ideal client can stops scrolling and says, oh, that that's what I need because that's what I'm doing. So creating a macro cycle of content is when you take one core concept and then you create little pieces of content all around the same concept. This is when we create the microcycle and when it's planned out like this, it helps you because a lot of people will leak their energy, leak their time. Scrolling, scrolling, scrolling, scrolling, trying to get inspiration. Now, if you're anything like me, so I don't know if you're into human design or you are into any type of personality. I love personalities. I love knowing and getting to know myself even more. And so one of the things that I know about me is that I'm extroverted. I'm a manager. I have an open head center. So this means that I do need to get it. I need to respond, I need to. I do get inspired by being around other creatives. I do get inspired when I see other people's experience, experience. And then I can filter it through my context and take the idea and put my experience on it. That is helpful to me. So because I know that about myself, I'm very strategic in the amount of time that I allow myself I will literally set a timer to go and get inspiration, to go get inspired, to go learn what's happening, what's going on, to consume. Because I need that in order to create. But not everyone does. So this is going to require you to know yourself. Some people need to sit in silence and they need to get inspired from within. That's great. So learn about yourself, know what makes you tick, be honest with yourself about what makes you tick, and then go all in on it. And so when I have that type of clarity and I know that this is, I set boundaries around myself so that I know that I'm not feeling, spiraling down into this indecision, overthinking phase, which I can get to. So I will offer to you to just get really honest with yourself about where you are, what type of creator you are, and what is the intention behind what you're creating and what you're doing, and then set a macro and micro cycle of content for yourself so that you can save time, plan time to save time. A especially for my coaches, who are really busy people in my accelerator, they have, you know, 10 clients, 10 to 12 clients that they're seeing on a weekly basis. So sometimes their schedule is literally back to back with clients. So when you're back to back with clients, how on earth are you supposed to create the content? Well, the good news is that, well, we'll get to number three. But good news is that typically you'll have inspiration because you'll get to use the questions that clients are asking you. Because what is often most general is most personal, meaning people. When they are embarrassed to share this with you, they are likely, likely more people are, are struggling with the same thing, which is a good thing. It means that you get to answer it publicly without calling anybody out. This is why the power of custom and community is so valuable, so important instead of macro and micro cycle of content for yourself. So it will help you plan time to save time. So the third thing that you can do to help yourself save time when it comes to content creation is do I like to do the three, two, one method. And this was something I was just talking about with one of my accelerator clients today. She's so overwhelmed, she's bogged down. She literally does not have time to do anything and it's putting her into paralysis by analysis. So what we said is, okay, so you know, you have your macro and micro cycle, so let's take one. So one core concept. This is one idea that we're going to use. Okay, we are going to deliver it in two different platforms, two different ways. So for her, it's going to be her Instagram account and it's also going to be her Facebook account because she's got a very active Facebook. So we're putting it in two different platforms. Okay. Then we are going to say it three different ways. The same thing. Three different ways. Three, two, one. So we're going to do it in carousel. Then we're going to do it in a reel. Then it's going to be an a roll reel. So a roll means that it's her direct to camera. So while she's doing a walk, she's going to say the exact same thing she shared in a reel. Then we're going to take one core concept of this, four ways to end fat loss. And we're going to put it in a tweet that's gonna like a tweet post that's gonna say your fat loss journey, your, your 2023 fat loss journey starts in fall, starts now. Right? And it's gonna be the exact same piece of content said three different ways, delivered three different ways on two different platforms. So now what we have done, because we've taken one core concept, we're gonna take three ways of saying it and put it in two different places. So six, six pieces of concept on one idea. And three, two, one is the bare minimum. We. You could take one concept and say it 10 different ways. 15 if you want to put it in three locations. And now you've got 15 assets, 15 pieces of content that you can measure the performance on. And then lastly, when you're really busy, instead of creating, switch to documenting. And this is something I learned from Gary Vee very early, is that just put a piece, put your camera on and film yourself doing stuff. Just, just go about your day with your camera on and film it. You're going to get tons and tons and tons of assets. In fact, I'm willing to bet that there's content right now in your, in your album that you could literally use as B roll. And then when you do that, when you have that type of documentation now, you can go through, are there coaching calls that you've done that you can pull? You speaking out a piece of content that was mind blowing when you were in the zone, that you didn't even know that it's going to help a ton of people. You don't have to put your clients on blast, but you can pull a piece of content that you already created and repurpose it. If you're putting yourself working out. Then now you take a concept, now you take a clip of you working out and voiceover a piece of it maybe did a time lapse like I did on my Instagrams the other day and I did a time lapse and me just putting on my makeup and then I. And then my clients were asking about it. So then I did another piece of content based on here's how I set this up and it's literally just me documenting life that's happening anyway and turning it into content. And not for the sake of content creation, but for the sake of introducing my work to new people that I can help so that I can raise the industry standard so coaches don't feel like they have to become content creators and influencers in order to create an online business. Because that's not what this is about. And then the last bonus tip that I'm going to give you so five ways when you're really, really in a burnout cycle or just feeling like I just cannot even bear to open up the Instagram app, go and scroll back to something that you posted three months ago, 60 days go and just repurpose the exact same thing, copy and paste it and keep doing that so that you can show up without feeling like you are in the content creation cycle. Hamster wheel of death. That is not what we're trying to do. We're trying to use the content powerfully to attract and connect with people who are ready to work with you. So thanks for hanging out with me today. We're going to keep this episode short and sweet so that you can go and instantly implement it.
