Welcome to the PT Profit Podcast.
What's up coach? Thank you so much for pushing play on another episode of the PT Profit Podcast. I'm your host, Beverly Simpson. And if this is the first time that you're hanging out with me today, welcome. I'm super pumped that you're here. We've introduced a brand new miniseries that will publish once a week where we are showing you a behind the scenes look of experiences that took me from where I was to now running a multiple six figure business. And on the journey to seven figures. Instead of this mini series, these are short episodes designed to give you that daily dose of inspiration and kick in the pants to help you make the income and impact that you want to be making consistently. We've already gone over lesson 10, 9, 8 and 7 as to why most people continue to struggle and what to do instead. And now for today's lesson, we are diving into the volume game. So when it comes to growth, we need to understand the three parts of growth that are required to grow your audience or your people. And required to grow your prospects. And required to grow your purchasers, your clients. Because the truth is you are running a business. The moment you became a coach that started coaching one client, you became a business. And the problem is that most certifications, most education, most programs out there don't teach, teach you how to start and run a business. So how are you supposed to grow your business and clientele if you don't know how to start and run a business and what to actually implement that's going to generate you more money. Because all businesses need more people, more prospects and more purchasers. And so we need to understand what that edge, what that growth equation is. And the growth equation is visibility. You cannot buy from the Internet's best kept secret. This is true if you're running a brick and mortar. This is true if you're running an in person training studio, an online business or hybrid. You cannot buy from the Internet's best kept secret. You want to be number one in your niche, you need to be more visible. Then we need to add value. The truth about value we've talked about and unpacked in many different components. But it's not being the best educational component. Because think about it, who said the encyclopedia was going to be their favorite book or is their favorite book? No one ever. So we need to look at volume, volume, volume, volume. The volume component and volume is going to show up in two different ways. Volume being top of mind so that you can consistently stay and be number one in your niche. Because people, the more visibility you have, the greater chance you have on being the one picked. In addition to the volume in asks, the volume in asks for taking the next step. Think about it. Think about the New York Best sellers list. Notice how it's NY's best seller and not NY's best creator or NY's best writer. Now if you are a writer and you're listening to this and you might already know that I know all of the politics and that you can buy a spot on the list and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I know that regardless of that though, even if you could buy the people who buy the book or you could buy a million of your books, it still never has been. Despite all of those politics. It's never been New York's best writer list, New York's best best creator list. It's been the seller's list. And so in order to make more sales, aside from looking at your relationship to selling, which we can talk about in a different episode, but we also need to look at the volume of asks because research has shown us and honestly, people say this all the time. They throw this and kick this around. And so I don't know where this stat comes from, but I do know that in my own context, this is what I have seen to be true. People need to have anywhere from 8 to touch points before making a buying decision. And a buying decision is either going to be no, not yet, yes, I'm ready. And so what we notice in the industry standards is that it really takes about like a 90 day cycle of people to be exposed to your content, to be exposed to who you are, be exposed to your mission, be exposed to your ways of taking action and ways of getting to the outcome before they say yes to themselves and join your world. And so if we know that to be true, what do we do about all of the people who take longer than 90 days? And especially if you're dealing with the online space. I probably don't have to tell you, you already have experienced that only 3% of your audience see your state post at a given time. So if we look at that stat, if we know that someone needs 8 to 14 touch points, if we know that only 3% of our audience is seeing our stuff and then on top of that we know that only 3% of our audience is going to make a yes buying decision within 90 days, then think about what the compounding effect of of the other 97% of people who still have not said yes because they have some resistance. Think about how much volume it would take to create the content to in order to get 8 to 14 touch points to all 3% of your people that are in your audience. Whether it's Facebook group podcast emails. Think about the num. The volume of, of content that needs to come out. Also think about the volume of asks. Now most people, especially if they're running a launch model, they are going to maybe, maybe they'll launch once a quarter and they'll give like a four day to seven day window of opportunity. The chances of providing the amount of volume required for people to not only say yes to themselves but then continuously be and given the opportunity to say yes to themselves is so much smaller than most people realize. That's why inside of what we do in the accelerator group is that we build these pressure free permission based sales systems so that you can generate sales every single day. So you take that pressure off of I need to execute and I need to get this number by this date. You take that pressure off yourself so that you can get that reps and so you can get the volume in. Because volume is the name of the game. And so most people, they'll be like, I don't want to post every day. I don't want to post and I don't want to. I don't want to, you know, I don't want to show up and listen, I get it. I get it. In fact, one of my most common pieces that I, that I say all the time is that just post every day is not a business strategy. And the reason why I say that is because what most people do, what most struggling coaches do is that they're just throwing spaghetti at the wall for lack of a better word or lack of a better metaphor. They just spend hours creating content or they get stuck in the, they get stuck in the content creation process trying to get it perfect when instead it's re. And so what ends up happening is that they end up spending so much time getting bogged down on the content creation process, and then when they post it, they don't get. They don't get the outcome that they were expecting given the input that they've put into the creation of that asset. So no wonder that is draining. No wonder that feels like it's not working. And why would you keep putting your hand on a hot stove? Well, what this means and what this will require of you is to really shift how you are focusing, how you are using your time. Because it's not about adding more time, it's about using the time more efficiently. What would it look like if you just went for the reps? What would it look like if you set a timer and you said, whatever I execute in this five minutes is going to be what I'm going to create and what is going to come out. And then when you recognize and realize that, only 3% of my audience sees that it's a good thing, because it's going to give you the opportunity to find your footing. In order for you to become unconsciously competent, in order for you to gain the traction and get the speed of taking action and the speed of getting the outcome that you want, it requires you to take to get the rep. And you can either do it slowly or you can do it quickly. And you have two options when it comes to growing your audience, your prospects and your customer, and to growing that volume. You can do it combination of time or money. And usually it's going to be a combination of both. And both are going to require energy and effort. So if you can look for the ways that you can be resourceful so that you can up your volume gain. Because the truth is that people will say, oh, it just takes time, it takes volume, it takes reps. And the good news is that you don't have to wait some arbitrary amount of time. Get the reps in and prioritize the reps. And when you can do what my mentor says, live on the razor's edge, where you care about everything and nothing at the same time. This is how you'll be able to practice detachment. This is how you'll be able to keep your attention on what matters, which is the action, and celebrate yourself for the actual gain of doing what it is that you said that you were going to do and then look at the data. So for us, what we're doing is I'm introducing this new miniseries. My intention is to, is to get this done and bang this out through the end of the Year. So when we, in December, when we set, when we sit down and when we look at the outcomes of what happened, we're going to take a look at, okay, so this was the goal, this was the actions that I said I was going to do on a week to week basis. Did I do them, yes or no? And if I didn't do them, what got in the way, what needs to be removed, how can I restore integrity with my word in order to get to the action? What is the skill and support that is required of me to get to the volume needed? And then lastly, I'm going to take a look at, you know, when it comes to, you know, practicing detachment and whatnot, I'm going to take a look at what am I making it mean if I'm not hitting the volume or if I'm not hitting the goals. And sometimes that will come up when I'm really looking at what, why, when I'm, when I'm really looking at the outcomes and when I'm really looking at, you know, what, what is preventing me from taking, taking the next step or what is getting in the way? Some usually it's the meaning that I'm making for not hitting the outcomes that I wanted. So when you can move through that faster, you're going to get the success that you want. So I'm willing to bet there is. If you are struggling, there is an area of opportunity where you can ask more, ask more. And if you need help and if there is a blind spot that you're not seeing, this is why support is essential, because your coach is there to help you identify the blind spot so that you can learn your lessons faster. One of the hardest things that I've had to learn in my coaching experience, both as a coaching client and as a coach, is that I have wanted to learn the lessons for my client so that they could speed up and speed through the pain that I experience, experienced. And it led to a lot of disappointment and a lot of me trying to do a lot of their work, which is robbing them from the lesson that they need. And if that's happening to you, and that is one of the things that is preventing you from creating the volume necessary for you to be number one in your niche, for you to actually show, show up, then I want to invite you and encourage you to take a look at that. Because also what happens to a lot of people, both I've noticed in myself and I've noticed in my colleagues, is that when you try to learn the lessons for your clients and they're not showing up or they're not doing the volume. They're not. It's causing you to stay away from that volume component that is needed to grow your business. You start to la. You start to personalize and internalize outcomes, whether they're positive or negative. And then if you start to lose your footing and lose your certainty in the process of what works, then your clients will start to lose their certainty. In order for your client to say yes to themselves, they need to come overcome that final piece of resistance, which is, can I do this? And you know what's going to help them overcome that? Your certainty. And if you are hiding like me, by the way, it's the only reason why I know this is because I was hiding, hiding in the name of helping. Isn't it interesting how sneaky that ego is, sneaky that brain is? And so it's preventing me from doing the volume that is needed to grow. Because all businesses need people, prospects, purchasers. You might, if you're struggling, you might have a volume issue. A volume in your asks, volume in people. So your homework today, your action, your action steps today is to get really relentless and honest with yourself about what action is needed to increase your volume in people hearing your message and people being asked to say yes to themselves.
