Moving outward on the map reveals a larger version of it with a bigger avatar, creating the feeling of chasing a bigger self. Moving inward compresses everything so you see the whole layout at once.
So a lot of people have been asking, what happens if you go the other way? 'Cause right now I'm going towards the center, but what happens if I turn around and go outward? Now I see a bigger version of the map and a bigger version of myself, and I'm chasing that bigger version of myself. I like to show what it looks like going inward though, 'cause you can see the whole map.
